Top Longest Bridge,

The King Fahd Causeway spans long stretches of sea and reclaimed land.

The idea of building a bridge linking Bahrain to the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia had been enticing the two kingdoms for generations. The idea was born during an official visit to Bahrain in 1954 and King Saud's wish to nurture and further solidify the bond between the two.

In 1965, plans to construct the causeway began to take form officially when Sheikh Khalifah ibn Sulman Al Khalifah, the Prime Minister of Bahrain, paid a courtesy visit to King Faisal at which time the king expressed his wish to move forward.

Subsequently, Bahrain, which drove on the left, changed to driving on the right in 1967.[3] This was to bring it into line with neighbouring countries.

In 1968, a joint committee was formed to assess the finances required for undertaking the task. As a result, the committee requested the World Bank contribute assistance to implement the mammoth-sized project including environmental and geographical aspects of the region.
The idea of constructing the causeway was based on improving the links and bonds between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.[5] Maritime surveying began in 1968, construction began in 1981 and continued until the official opening to the public in 1986. Since its completion in 1986, the causeway has streamlined commerce and strengthened cultural and social bonds between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

In the summer of 1973, King Faisal, in a meeting which included Emir Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa as well as prince Fahd bin Abdul Aziz and Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, suggested the committee overlook economic and financial issues with the project instead concentrating on the actual construction.

In 1975, the World Bank submitted its study and advice after seeking assistance from specialist international expertise in studying the geographic, environmental factors and maritime currents.

In the spring of 1976, during a visit by King Khalid bin Abdul Aziz to Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the two monarchs agreed to set up a ministerial committee to work on implementation of the project.
The causeway from the Bahrain side.
On 8 July 1981, Mohammed Aba Al-Khail, minister for Finance and National Economy of Saudi Arabia and Yousuf Ahmed Al-Shirawi, minister of Industrial Development in Bahrain signed an agreement to start construction on the maritime causeway.
On 11 November 1982, King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz and Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa unveiled the curtain on the Memorial Plaque during a formal ceremony attended by leaders of the GCC states marking the beginning of the project.

On 11 April 1985, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of Bahrain, pressed the button to install the final part of the box bridges thereby finally linking Saudi mainland with the island of Bahrain.

On 26 November 1986, the causeway was officially inaugurated in the presence of King Fahd and Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, with the latter consenting to naming the bridge King Fahd Causeway.
As of 2010, an estimated 25,104 vehicles use the causeway daily. The 2010 total number of travelers across the causeway from both countries was 19.1 million passengers, or an average of 52,450 passengers per day

Top 10 Best Places to Visit in Bahrain

Here we have covered 10 Best Places to Visit in Bahrain.
Bahrain is a beautifull and lightening country. It has seas ,restaurent ,hotels, beaches, tall buildings, gardens etc
In this video, we are going to talk about Top 10 best places to visit in Bahrain. So before starting this video, please like this video and subscribe to this channel for our future updates.
Bahrain is known for its gorgeous pearls. Bahrain has become less known for its aquatic gems and more for its oil refineries.
Thousands are now visiting Bahrain to see the collapsing ruins of the ancient civilizations of Dilmun, Qalat Al Bahrain's mighty fortress, the famous scuba diving sites and the picturesque desert towns and craft centers dotting the land.
Here are the Top 10 best places to visit in Bahrain.
Before we begin, why don’t you hit the subscribe button? And the bell notification icon so that you never miss any of our videos. Let’s begin.
Number 10. Al Jasra.
In the village of Al Jasra, which sits at the intersection of King Fahd Causeway and the straits of the western coast of Bahrain, you can continue looking for gorgeous handicrafts. For unwinding and relaxation, the center has a garden in the centre.
Number 9. Zallaq.
Zallaq hugs Bahrain's western coastline and you'll find limpid turquoise lagoons and date palms dotting the shore. This part of Bahrain is renowned for Al Jazaer Beach's white sands, Water sports, including jet skiing and kite surfing, are popular here, and there are barbecue pits all along the beach.
Number 8. Hamad Town.
Some of the cities in Bahrain are ancient wonders, while others, including Hamad Town, which dates back to the 1980s, are more modern. The city is renowned for its wacky roundabouts that dot the horizon, as well as the nearby Bahraini Formula One circuit.
Number 7. Isa Town.
Isa Town can look like it is simply made up of whitewashed villas and luxury homes. If you like football, it's also home to the gigantic Bahrain National Stadium.
Number 6. Hawar Islands.
Located at the southernmost point of the archipelago of Bahrain, the Hawar Islands are just across the coast from neighboring Qatar. Wildlife enthusiasts, as well as birds, may also spot the occasional Arabian Oryx.
Number 5. Muharraq.
Muharraq dates from the Dilmun Civilization. You can find a wealth of cafes with hookah pipes. It is certainly a place to visit that depicts Arab Gulf-style architecture to enjoy traditional cuisine.
Number 4. Amwaj Island.
The Juffair district is often thought of as just another extension of Manama's urban sprawl, but this used to be a completely separate part of Bahrain in fact. It is also the birthplace of the American Alley, an expatriate area of Manama popular for its bars and fast food restaurants, as the name implies.
Number 3. Juffair.
The Amwaj Islands are an archipelago off Bahrain's coast and offer a lesson in opulence in the Middle East. As is always the way here, the islands are built from 100% reclaimed land and you can find beautiful whitewashed towers as well as luxurious apartments here.
Number 2. Riffa.
Riffa is located in the heart of Bahrain, and before its big brother Manama usurped it, it used to be the largest city in the world. You'll find winding shopping streets and authentic Arabic bazaars that make this a perfect place to pick up some trinkets, such as pearl necklaces and spices from the Middle East.
Number 1. Manama.
Manama does not seem so interesting at first sight, and you might write it off as just another gilded metropolis that can be found all over the Middle East. You can find swish shopping centers, as well as luxurious resorts that nestle along the Gulf Coast, if you so choose.
What do you think of our list? Which of the above place you like the most? Let us know in the comment section below.

How Safe Is Bahrain for Travel?

Full safety review:

The Kingdom of Bahrain is a Middle Eastern archipelago located in the Persian Gulf, nearby both Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The country is famous for its petroleum-based economy, but it also boasts a relaxed, cosmopolitan culture that doesn’t exist in its neighboring countries.

It has a social layer to it that sits well with the middle class, which is unheard of in Qatar, for example, a country inhabited only by the rich elite.

If you decide to visit Bahrain, rest assured you will have many things to do.

First of all, the beaches offer warm water all year round, even during winter. The water in Bahrain’s beaches is world-known for being very clear.

Overall even though crime rate in Bahrain is generally low, the petty theft is a real concern in this country. Burglaries have also been known to happen, so it is necessary to remain vigilant.
