Montserrat Spain. An incredible place just a short day trip from Barcelona.
With a monastery on a mountain, a 90-year-old cable car, a funicular train, and stunning views. This place is a must-visit.
We were blown away by the amazing walks and scenery of Montserrat. If you didn't know this place was here, it would be easy to walk right past it!

Once in a lifetime - Montserrat, Barcelona
We visited Montserrat outside Barcelona.
Montserrat is a multi-peaked mountain range near Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. It is part of the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range.
The main peaks are Sant Jeroni, Montgrós and Les Agulles. It is well known as the site of the Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary.
???? Location: 1 hour drive from Barcelona. There are also trains from Barcelona (about 1 hour).
???? Budget: Entrance is between 6-9 €. For Barcelona residents it's free.
⌚ Opening hours: Saturday & Sunday 07.00 - 20.00 More limited hours for the Black Madonna.
