BONAIRE - The Dutch Caribbean ???? || Kalos
Welcome to Kalos. Bonaire is a Dutch island in the Leeward Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. Its capital is the port of Kralendijk, on the west (leeward) coast of the island. The 2022 FIFA World Cup was happening while we were there and we were able to catch the game between the Netherlands and Argentina in a local Dutch hangout called Trocadero. It was truly an unforgettable time. The locals were amazing and such good hearted people. The island had not had a celebration like this since pre-Covid. According to the locals, not even on Kingdom Day (Queen's Day) do they celebrate like they did that night.

Travel from CURACAO to BONAIRE - Dutch Caribbean
Hi everyone! This is episode ten of my Dutch Caribbean series, in which I travel to Aruba, Curacao (Curaçao) and Bonaire. In this video, I travel from Willemstad in Curacao to Kralendijk in Bonaire.
The video starts off with me saying goodbye to the Otrobanda area in Willemstad, where I was staying, including thanking a gentleman who helped me with some information and directions on a previous day. I then head to the bus station and, after asking for help, manage to find myself on a bus heading to Hato International Airport, the main airport in Curacao.
I then arrive at the airport, way ahead of my scheduled departure time. I give a brief tour of the airport, both outside and inside, and eventually manage to grab an earlier flight to Bonaire. (Note: from c. 7:27 to 10:19, there are various parts where I'm in the airport and the lighting may be flickering. Please do take care if you need to).
On the plane, I meet fashion blogger Kenty Lichtenberg and her friend Candy, and we experience an unforgettable 25-minute flight between the C and B islands of the Dutch Caribbean. Let's just say this was not an ordinary journey. Check out Kenty Lichtenberg's website here:
I arrive in Bonaire at Flamingo International Airport, and get picked up by a taxi driver who also point out some interesting things about Bonaire. I finally arrive at my accommodation and manage to secure myself an upgrade. The owner himself gives me a tour of the room.

On a cruise on the Norwegian Epic, my friend and I hopped on a tour of the North and South of the island of Bonaire. Despite having only half a day to explore, we managed to make the most of our time and visit many incredible places. From the slave huts, remnants of a painful history, to the iconic salt pyramids and the mesmerizing Goto Lake, a protected natural area, we embarked on a whirlwind tour of the island's highlights. We couldn't resist stopping by the Cadushy Distillery to sample their unique cactus liqueur and concluded our adventure at Seru Largu, where we savored the panoramic views of the entire island. Though our visit was brief, we packed it with unforgettable experiences that showcased the beauty and diversity of Bonaire.

Bonaire Is Incredible, The Dutch Caribbean Islands
Exploring the best of the ABC island cluster. Bonaire is hands down the most beautiful of the three islands in the Dutch Caribbean, and the protected nature preserve island that is Klein Bonaire offers spectacular snorkeling and one of the most stunning beaches in all of the Caribbean (perfect white sand and perfect blue ocean). We drove around the southern tip of the island and made our way to Sorobon beach, before returning to the water taxi and snorkeling Klein Bonaire. This island is certainly worth exploring even if it's just for one day, but I would recommend spending at least 3 days or more enjoying everything that is Bonaire.

Deze laatste uitzending speelt zich af op Bonaire. Patricia, Arno en Sanne logeren op Grand Windsock Bonaire en bekijken het resort en The Beach Club. Ronald Haafkes verteld over wat zij allemaal bouwen op Bonaire.
Arno en Sanne gaan mee met de boot van Wannadive om te snorkelen en duiken bij Klein-Bonaire en bezoeken het Washington Slagbaai Park.
De Epic chill & grill catamaran zeiltour staat natuurlijk ook weer op het programma en de kersverse inwoner van Bonaire Hein Lommerse verteld hoe hij verliefd geworden is op het eiland.
In Kralendijk is het gezellig druk met twee cruiseboten en de marktjes waar geprobeerd wordt een leuk souvenirtje te scoren. De Bonaire trip sluit het gezelschap af met een lekker lunch op het strand van Sorobon bij Sebastian Beach.

A tour of KRALENDIJK, capital of BONAIRE
Hi everyone! This is episode eleven of my Dutch Caribbean series, in which I travel to the ABC Islands - Aruba, Curacao (Curaçao) and Bonaire. In this episode, I visit Kralendijk, the capital of Bonaire, for the first time.
The vlog starts with me walking from my accommodation in a residential neighbourhood towards the town centre. Along the way, I give information about the island as well as my first, raw impressions, including the architecture, the prominent choice of colour and the pace of life on the island. It is fair to say that the pace of life in Kralendijk is markedly different than the capitals of the sister islands, namely Oranjestad (Aruba) and Willemstad (Curacao). I stumble across various beaches and swimming areas, as well as a supermarket, where I get an idea of the cost of items on the island.
After a quick dip in the Caribbean Sea, I arrive at Fort Oranje, the oldest structure in Bonaire and share an interesting fact about the cannons. I then explain the meaning of the colours on the flag of Bonaire, and arrive at the town centre where I walk around Wilhelmina Plein (Plaza Wilhelmina).
I then hit the town centre where I marvel at the beautiful, colourful buildings and continue to notice the speed of development on the island - restaurants, apartments and general works. I also invite some comments from locals on how they feel about this rapid pace of development - on the one hand, it does bring in lots of tourism but could this be at a cost to the natural beauty of the island?
I then take in more of the town itself by strolling around shopping areas and taking in the beautiful street art. I also take a break for a smoothie and a local delicacy - let's just say this is not something I will order every day!
After the smoothie and quick snack break, I explore more of the town and stumble across monuments dedicated to political figures of other countries. At sunset, I visit the Divi Flamingo Resort and Casino, where I share some interesting historical facts about Bonaire and the Second World War.
The vlog ends with me having a sunset dip in the magnificent Caribbean Sea.

Het vervolg van onze Roadtrip Rondje Noord Bonaire. We beginnen bij het Museum Chichi' Tan. Dan proeven (en kopen) we een Cactus Likeur bij de Cadushy Distillery waar de binnenplaats gevuld is met velen vogels en hagedissen. O.A. Groene Leguanen (Iguana iguana), Kolibries, Oranje troepiaal, Lora papegaai.
Dan bezoeken we de Gruta Lourdes Rincon en vervolgen we onze weg via de Sint-Ludovicus Bertranduskerk naar uitzichtpunt Cruz Seru Largu.
