We are spending the next month in the beautiful country of ECUADOR and we are currently in the city of Quito! We are fully immersing ourselves in the hustle and bustle of the city. Quito has so much to offer and in today’s video, we are going to be taking you around and showing you all of the do not miss, top sights!
We start the day by taking the TeleferiQo Cable Car up to see the impressive views of the city. We then head back into old town to explore and wander around a bit. After eating a typical almuerzo for lunch we climbed to the top of the Basílica del Voto Nacional. We are also giving you a room tour of where we stayed in the heart of old town at Casa Anabela.

What should you eat in Ecuador? How about Popcorn as a Side Dish? Grubs in the Amazon? Yes there are some interesting foods in Ecuador and here are our five favorite Ecuadorian dishes you should eat when you visit Ecuador.
The Food in Ecuador:
1. The Soups: Secos (Stews), Sopa (Soup) are all quite tasty. The best is Locro de Papas a creamy potato soup found throughout Ecuador. Caldo de Gallina (Chicken soup) is also a winner.
2. The Pigs: Hornado, Fritada or just simple guinea pig (guy) are all foods you will enjoy while traveling Ecuador.
3. Seafood: Ceviche, Corvina, Trout, there are a lot of great seafood and fish dishes in Ecuador to enjoy.
4. The Treats: The snacks you will find throughout Ecuador come in three typical varieties, corn based, banana based, or
5. Don't Drink the Water, but Do Drink the Club or Pilsner Beer, the Local Soda, and Canelazo, the local hot alcoholic drink.

Ecuador is one of the most diverse countries in the world though it's comparably tiny. Beside the Galapagos Islands (which is the #1 tourist destination in Ecuador) the country has a lot more to offer, therefore I focussed on La Sierra in this video which is a paradise for landscape lovers and outdoor adventurers.
Another reason to visit the Andean region is that you have the chance to dive into the local culture and get a real feeling of Ecuador. The places to see in Ecuador I focussed on in this short video are the result of my own travels along the center from north to south and are easily doable in 2 weeks time.

I went out on an epic Ecuadorian Street Food Tour in Quito, Ecuador with my local friend, José Alberto Bueno. José was featured on Master Chef Ecuador, and a great co-pilot for a foodie vlog in Quito. Filmed by @suarezmedia ????
Here are the locations we visited on this Quito Ecuador Food Tour Vlog:
Paulita del Centro - Cevichocho is a vegan ceviche featuring lupini beans, onions, cilantro, plantains, roasted corn, and a tomato sauce. It's a healthy and delicious way to start our Ecuadorian food tour here in Quito.
Los Jugos de Cecilia (Plaza Arenas) - You can't come to Ecuador without taking advantage of all the incredible local fruits this ecosystem has to offer. There are so many juice (jugo) stands around Quito, and Jugos Cecilia in Plaza Arenas is an institution in the city.
Sabor Costeño El Manaba - For lunch (almuerzo), we visit a local favorite restaurant in Quito. This stop on our food tour featured incredible curry-like seafood sauces and traditional Ecuadorian food.
Mercado Santa Clara - For more amazing Ecuadorian fruits, we visit Mercado Santa Clara in downtown Quito next. The feature here is also the incredible food stalls who offer the quintessential Ecuadorian dish; Hornado - slow-roasted pulled pork.
Ananké Guápulo - We make a quick stop at this beautiful restaurant for a traditional drink called Canelazo - hot spiced cinnamon alcohol drink.
El Parque de Las Tripas - For the ultimate Quito Food Tour, you have to stop at Parque de las Tripas for an iconic night market. The featured Ecuadorian dish here is Tripa (Tripe), which isn't my personal favorite. However, the night is saved with Empanadas de Viento - delicious, cheese-filled fried dough covered in sugar!

The city of Quito is located high in the mountains, so if you fly into Quito you may need a few days to accommodate to the weather and height. The place boasts marvelous architecture and fascinating views over the surrounding areas. Among other tourist attractions are white water rafting in Banos. This video takes you to Quito Ecuador top attractions in 72 hours with top things to see and do. Join me at the Winged Virgin Statue, TeleferiQo Cable Car over 4,000 m high, the Centro Historico with the monuments, churches and plazas. We take a walking tour to La Compania, the Basilica, Independence and San Francisco Plaza. I even take you to the Museo Guyasamin, to see paintings by the Picasso of Ecuador. Quito is the closest capital city to the equator at 0 Degree 15’ 0” S. It lies in the northern highlands and Guayllabamba river basin. As the second highest capital city in the world, Quito’s altitude is 2820 m (9,250 ft). Ecuador lies where the Pacific plates meet the northern Andes on the Avenue of Volcanoes. 7 of the 47 volcanos in Ecuador surround Quito. The city lies on the eastern slopes of Pichincha and it’s the only city this close to an active volcano. It last erupted in 1999. Other volcanoes near Quito include the renowned Cotopaxi and Quilotoa.
Quito is home to about 2.8 million people. However, the city is very narrow, fitting into this high mountain valley and pushing up the sides of the mountains. Therefore, the only places left to grow are to the north and south. Because of its altitude and location near the equator, Quito has a constant cool climate with average temperatures ranging in daytime at 70.5 F (21.4 C) and nighttime at 49.6 F (9.8 C). However, it has 2 seasons: dry season from June – August and wet season from September – May. April is the rainiest month.
