Cook Islands BEST KEPT SECRET PARADISE: Aitutaki

The Cook Islands are somewhat unknown in the South Pacific, but they have a secret tropical paradise known as Aitutaki. It has the most beautiful lagoon, crystal clear tropical water, and perfect sandy beaches.

If you can't afford to stay on the island, you can take a day excursion or day trip to Aitutaki and see things much more affordably. You'll have to fly in and out on the same day, but we thought it added to the adventure!

The sad news is this is our last travel vlog from Aitutaki, but the good news is there's 3 more vlogs to come in this Cook Islands series — all from exploring on Rarotonga. So for this final Aitutaki video we wanted to travel around and explore the REAL side of Aitutaki, the side you often don't see, and understandably so because most people will go straight to the stunning lagoon!

So what is Aitutaki really like? Chill, friendly, welcoming, delicious and beautiful! Here's what we checked out in this vlog:

Arriving in the Cook Islands! Aitutaki Accommodation Tour | Cook Islands Ep. 2 of 7

Welcome to the Cook Islands and Aitutaki! After a flight from Rarotonga we’re checking out our Aitutaki accommodation and going full resort holiday mode ❤️... Learn how to edit video with Dane — ⬇ More Below ⬇

It’s SO GOOD to be back on that travel buzz and visiting the Cook Islands again. We’ve got a total of 7 travel vlogs in this series exploring Aitutaki and Rarotonga, a stunning paradise so close to home! After a quick 45 minute flight from Rarotonga to Aitutaki airport we were picked up by our accommodation and taken to our resort — Etu Moana — right on the beach front!

There’s a lot less hotel and accommodation options on Aitutaki, but we loved the look of Etu Moana and it turned out to be everything we hoped it would be. Check out Etu Moana here: [

In this vlog we also travel a few km’s down the road to Pacific Resort Aitutaki to check out their resort for a massage and some food — what a beautiful spot!

This Cook Island series is just getting started, so stick around for more to come soon!

World’s Best Lagoon? Aitutaki Tour & Sunset Beach Dinner | Cook Islands Ep. 3 of 7

This is a gem of the Cook Islands - Aitutaki and it’s STUNNING lagoon! We’re on a lagoon tour with Bishops and in this vlog we get to… ???? Learn how to edit video with Dane — ⬇ More Below ⬇

Welcome back to the Cook Islands for episode 3 of 7 in this travel series. In this vlog we finally get to see what all the Aitutaki chat has been about, checking out the real highlight and top thing to do in Aitutaki, a lagoon tour into the turquoise waters.

Despite visiting the Cook Islands a few times we’ve always been told ‘unless you go to Aitutaki you really haven’t seen the Cook Islands’ — and after our time there, we can kinda see why people say it! Aitutaki is only small, but really shows how beautifully integrated the tourism and travel scene is with a local, traditional, Polynesian culture (which we’ll show more in the next vlog). But more than anything, its all about this lagoon and taking a lagoon tour to reach the outer motu’s and really see the beauty!

It’s easy to understand why Aitutaki is known as the ultimate honeymoon destination! Stay tuned, we've got 4 more Cook Islands vlogs to come as we make our way back to Rarotonga as well.

AITUTAKI ISLAND IN 4K - Drone Footage (ULTRA HD)

Some amazing drone footage from Aitutaki Island (Cook Islands). An amazing paradise island in the middle of the South Pacific. Filmed with DJI MAVIC PRO and GO PRO

What to see in Aitutaki | The Cook Islands

A little paradise means Aitutaki, home to approximately 1800 people and the world’s most beautiful lagoon. It's only 220 kilometres or a 50-minute flight from Rarotonga. Secluded and romantic, 15 motus (islets) are sprinkled across this huge turquoise, sunlit lagoon.

After Rarotonga, Aitutaki is our second most visited island in the Cook Islands. Secluded and romantic, it holds a compelling allure for honeymooners, many of whom choose this haven for the duration of their stay. You can look forward to languid, leisurely days simply reveling in each other’s company and the jaw-dropping surroundings. Work on your suntan lazing under a coconut palm, relax with a massage or explore the island by cycle or motor-scooter.

Episode 014 Cook Islands Aitutaki

For the third part of our journey we fly from Rarotonga to Aitutaki where we explore this beautiful island. We head home via Rarotonga, Auckland and back to Melbourne. What a great adventure.

Cook Islands, Rarotonga and Aitutaki 2022 THE BEST!!

This amazing destination showcase the perfect tropical-dream-island-escape vacation.
The landscape is absolutely breathtaking and its people are amongst the kindest and friendly you can find. The local food is awesome and the lagoons are out of this world. You won't regret visiting the Cook Islands.

Aitutaki, The Cook Islands

Aitutaki Island, in the Cook Islands, is one of the jewels of the South Pacific.
It has a turquoise lagoon and a barrier reef. It is a one hour flight from the main island of Rarotonga.
The lagoon is teaming with wildlife such as tropical fish, turtles, crustaceans and giant clams. There are many seabirds such as red-tailed tropicbirds and herons.
This paradise is an ideal place to let the stress soak away and just luxuriate in the beauty of nature.

TRAVEL to AITUTAKI, Cook Islands - Welcome to Paradise (Vlog Part 2)

After an amazing few days hanging out in Rarotonga (check out our first episode) it was time to explore another part of the Cook Islands, and a spot that is known for having the most beautiful lagoon in the world, Aitutaki.

We jumped on an Aitutaki day tour from Rarotonga, flying across to the island and spending a few hours on a boat cruise, drinking coconuts, snorkelling with fish and wandering around One Foot Island, home to the bluest water we have ever seen.

For the last few days checking out the best things to do in the Cook Islands, we checked out the Highland Paradise Cultural Show, went snorkelling at Black Rock and tackled the legendary Raemaru Trek right before getting on our plane home.

Travelling to Cook Islands is a fantastic experience, and our trip was one of our favourites in recent years. We can't wait to return again one day.

Aitutaki Day Tour price is NZ$ 493 per person
Highland Paradise Tour price is NZ$ 110 per person

Disclaimer - We travelled to the Cook Islands as part of a media campaign with Cook Islands Tourism, and our flights were covered by Air New Zealand.

Cook Islands - Aitutaki ???? | Die türkisfarbene Lagune Aitutakis – Ein Südseetraum ????

Cook Islands - Aitutaki ????

????????????????
