Located in the West Indies in a tropical climate, in the vastness of the Caribbean Sea, Antigua captivates tourists with its incredible beauty of nature, coral reefs on a small piece of land. general information
The island of Antigua is part of the Lesser Antilles archipelago, belongs to the state of Antigua and Barbuda, together with the other two islands Barbuda and Redonda.
The island is located near Guadeloupe, the American and British Virgin Islands. The closest mainland country to the island is Venezuela. The highest point in Antigua is Mount Obama (402 meters).
In ancient times, Antigua was inhabited by the Arawak Indians. This unique corner was discovered at the end of the 15th century by the expedition of Christopher Columbus, but due to a lack of water and raids by the Caribbean, it was not populated by Europeans for a long time. From the middle of the 17th century, the British moved here from the island of St. Kitts and until 1981 the island belonged to the British. Only from the end of the 20th century did the state become independent.
This piece of amazing exoticism, lost in the middle of the ocean, with an area of 281 square kilometers, is washed by the Atlantic waters from the north, and the Caribbean Sea from the south.
The population of Antigua is just over 90 thousand inhabitants, the main source of income for the economy and the local population is tourism. More than 90 percent of the locals are descendants of African slaves who were brought to the island during the colonial era to develop sugarcane.
Capital
The capital and major city of the island is St. John's. Shopping centers, ancient buildings of unique architecture, wooden huts for tourists are concentrated here.
Lives in the capital, about 30 thousand people. In addition to St. John's, the island has several attractive cities - Codrington, All Saints, Falmouth.
Antigua beaches
The beaches of the island are some of the main attractions of Antigua, part of the amazing Caribbean fairytale. Tourists are attracted here by beaches with crystal clear water and soft white sand, the absence of crowds, a fairly well-developed infrastructure of hotel recreation and leisure.
The most famous Long Beach is an eight-kilometer strip of amazing coastal zone included in the ten most beautiful beaches in the world.

Antigua is a hilly island with lush tropical vegetation and a variety of wildlife and underwater life. Cliffs, plains, caves and elevation changes, breathtaking serpentine roads make it possible to admire enchanting landscapes and beautiful places with tropical forests. A huge number of rare plants grow here and there are many rare birds. The nature of the island has been preserved almost in its original form.

The whole island is one continuous resort. The entire coast of Antigua is lined with luxury hotels or colonial-style wooden huts for traveling foreigners.

The Devil's Bridge is an amazing creation of nature with a dramatic history, according to legend, from there many fugitive slaves threw themselves from a cliff into the sea and died.
From the top of Mount Obama, travelers enjoy breathtaking views of the nearby islands of Guadeloupe and Montserrat. Gravenor's Bay attracts diving enthusiasts and sailors alike. Stunning sunsets, emerald surface of the ocean and local flavor with nature are all the hallmarks of Antigua.

GRENADA: Jungle Waterfalls & Tropical Beaches - ALL 4K Highlights + Drone
Grenada is one of the most beautiful and relaxed islands in the Caribbean. In addition to a wonderful atmosphere, nice restaurants and beautiful beaches, it also has an unspoilt interior. The most beautiful waterfalls await you in the middle of the jungle. In this video I show you why Grenada is a must-do when you travel to the Caribbean.
When we enter the tropical rainforest we see monkeys, iguanas, beautiful birds and much more. We dive from the highest waterfalls and slide on natural slides through the forest. We sleep in Lance Aux Epines near the capital St. George. From there we visit the Mount Carmel Waterfalls, hike through Grand Etang National Park and visit the beaches of Grand Anse and La Sagesse.
This year we travel all over the world and after the Canary Islands, Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia and Tobago, Grenada is our seventh destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in the Caribbean and then to many more beautiful destinations! We travel non-stop all year round and film everything. GALAPAGOS: ISLA SANTA CRUZ - Travel Guide to ALL SIGHTS and ISLANDS in 4K
The Galapagos in Ecuador is one big animal paradise. Nowhere in the world can you see wild animals so easily in their natural environment. We start on the island of Baltra and travel to Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz. There we visit the Charles Darwin Research Center, named after the explorer and naturalist who based the Theory of Evolution on the animals of the Galapagos Islands. We also visit Tortuga Bay and Las Grietas, highlights with many more animals. Throughout the island we see land iguanas, marine iguanas, sea lions, giant tortoises, pelicans, crabs, tropical fish and birds.
This year we travel all over the world and after Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, The Bahamas, USA and Mexico, Galapagos is already our twelfth destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in Ecuador, then Brazil and then to many more beautiful destinations! We also cross to Asia, Oceania and Africa!
