Did you expect this in New Zealand? When you come to New Zealand, you'll be shocked to see gangs. Gangs in New Zealand are so unafraid of the Police that they ride obnoxiously loud motorcycles so you can hear them a mile away.
They even wear a uniform which includes a gang patch, so you know which gang they're from.
This is how open and obvious organised crime is in New Zealand. And for visitors like my wife, it's shocking.
If you stay away from them, they won't bug ya. But the reality is gangs are known for the drug trade, murder, theft, violence against women, and the list goes on.
There are numerous gangs in New Zealand, of varying criminality, organisation and ethnicity, including outlaw motorcycle gangs, street gangs and ethnically based gangs. A chapter of the Hells Angels motorcycle club was formed in Auckland in 1961, the first Hells Angels chapter outside the US.
Soon after, the Mongrel Mob formed in Hastings and Wellington, developing into a predominantly Māori and Pacific Islander gang and having the largest membership in the country.
Through the 1960s and 1970s, other outlaw motorcycle clubs and ethnically based gangs formed, including another predominantly Māori gang, Black Power (not related to the African-American movement), which grew to rival the Mongrel Mob. from Wikipedia.

This is a review of recent local fires and how phone infrastructure failed at a critical time, highlighting the urgent need for back-up emergency communications for your family and neighborhood.

The 3 main forms of Emergency Communications - GMRS , vs Ham Radio , vs CB Radio ... to prepare for a Grid Down scenario.
Some disasters can interrupt the communication services we take for granted and use every day. Too many telephones off the hook – whether shaken off by an earthquake or picked up by too many people trying to reach concerned friends and relatives – can overload the local phone system. Similarly, too many customers trying to make calls on their cellular phones can bring that system to a halt. Infrastructure damage (e.g., lines down, structural damage at a central office) can likewise render our telephones unusable.
The proliferation of small handheld radios operating in the Family Radio Service (FRS) and the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) make them a popular choice for back-up neighborhood communications. Low power and small antennas limit the effective range of these radios, sometimes to a few blocks. Intervening buildings and terrain can also affect their communication range. The closer two such radios are to each other, the stronger the signal will be between them, so transmissions from your closest neighbors will generally be much stronger than those from a mile or two away. Thus, they may be well suited for use by small teams working on utility shutoff, checking on special-needs neighbors, etc.
What’s the difference between FRS and GMRS? FRS radios have lower transmit power (a fraction of a watt) and require no license to operate. GMRS radios can run more power (several watts) and may use larger, more effective antennas but require a license (about $85 and good for five years) from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Each service has its own set of frequency channels, and they share seven more in common. Different makes and models of radios may use different channel numbers for the same frequency. You can make cross-reference charts for your radios by referring to the manuals or by trial-and-error, but it’s easiest for a team to purchase all the same make and model so that everyone’s “Channel 3” is the same.
For longer-distance communications, amateur radio operators (“hams”) have capabilities far beyond that of FRS and GMRS. They can reach across town or across the country with the right equipment and appropriate choice of frequencies. Each neighborhood can benefit by having several hams nearby to assist with these more rigorous communication needs. Check with a local amateur radio club or nearby ham, or inquire at the areslax.org Web site for more information.
Having radios is good, but knowing how to use them is an important element of communications. To get the most out of your radios, keep the batteries fresh (alkaline) or properly charged (rechargeable), and have spares handy. As part of your planning, agree on who will use what channels (and, for neighborhood use, privacy codes), and have back-up channels in case one is hampered by interfering signals. Practice using your radios from the places you would actually use them in a disaster. When transmitting, speak slowly and clearly – don’t yell – across the microphone while holding it one to two inches from your mouth. Try to avoid areas of loud background noise, which make it harder for the other party to understand you and for you to hear them.
Fire, police and military radio operators make use of TACTICAL CALLSIGNS, usually associated with a specific function or location. First names may be fine for only a few users but can lead to confusion with many users on the same channel. Your utilities team, for example, may want to use “Utility One”. “Utility Two”, etc. Your plan should include any tactical callsigns you decide to use

I put my Indian SIM card into my phone in Pakistan to see if it works! Find out if my Bharti Airtel SIM works in Pakistan or not.
The operator ID in the app shows PLATINUM, not Airtel because that's how it is on Airtel's network. It shows your post-paid package as the network operator name.
If you want to use your phone in Pakistan, you'll need to join a local carrier like Zong 4G Pakistan or Jazz. Beware that your SIM card tray (it's IEMI) will be blocked after 60 days in Pakistan by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) if you don't pay import tax on your foreign phone - yes, even if you're a tourist.

From networked cooperation to human sociality: Wikipedia as the model for a new view of social relations
A decade ago Wikipedia burst into a world not ready to comprehend it. Thousands of people cooperating effectively, without price signals to offer incentives or managerial hierarchy to direct efforts was an impossibility. And yet, it moves. And as it moved it combined with a deep shift across many disciplines, from biology and neuroscience to organizational sociology, experimental economics, and social psychology to paint a very different view of who we are, as human beings, and what we are capable of when we build and inhabit systems that rely on our better selves rather than on the cramped, pessimistic view of traditional economic modeling. A decade ago our explanations of Wikipedia depended on the uniqueness of the Net. Today, we are ready to learn the deeper lessons: that we are more cooperative than we came to believe in the last half century, and that our challenges lie in learning how to build a new field of cooperative human systems design not only online, but for our lives more generally as the kind of social human beings we really are.
