SAYING GOODBYE TO MAURITIUS (Best Things To Do Around Mahebourg) - Mauritius Road Trip Ep. 9
It’s our last day on Mauritius and we’re sad to leave! In this video we make the most of our last day and explore the best things to do around Mahebourg. Mahebourg is a town on the east coast of Mauritius, which is the least visited side of the island. Before driving to Mahebourg we spent some time in a resort in Quatre Cocos, as you can find some good deals in this area. We then check in to our guesthouse in Mahebourg, try manioc biscuits that are famous on Mauritius, head to a restaurant that is supposed to serve the best Biryani on Mauritius (it is delicious) and then drive to Blue Bay for a great spontaneous snorkelling trip. This was the perfect way to end our Mauritius road trip and we hope you enjoyed coming along!

Welcome to paradise island! This is Mauritius, the green volcanic island off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. We fly our drone over the famous Le Morne mountain, visit the seven colored earth and Chamarel waterfall and drive through the Black River Gorge. Of course we also see the best hotels and lay down on the perfect beaches. This video is the perfect guide for a family holiday to Mauritius!
In the previous episodes you saw how we made a road trip from Cape Town to Kruger Park in South-Africa. We drove the Cape Namibia Route along the West Coast to look for animals in the Kalahari Desert. After that we crossed the border into Namibia, where we drove straight through the world's highest sand dunes in the Sossusvlei. We saw all the sights in Namibia and wend on a safari in Etosha National Park. Lately we visited Botswana and Zimbabwe, to cross the border again back to South Africa. From Johannesburg we take you island hopping on Mauritius and also the French island of La Reunion.
Our journey through Africa is part of a one and a half year trip around the world. We can even continue to travel indefinitely. On New Year's Day we started in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. Then you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, the Philippines, Zanzibar & Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa, Mauritius is already destination number 26 on the big trip. We have also been away from home for one and a half year now. Follow us on this world tour, first in Mauritius and then to many more beautiful destinations across the globe! In this video we start our day in Port Louis and then drive to Le Pouce to go on one of the island’s best hikes to the top of the mountain that’s supposed to look like a thumb (it doesn’t really). After trying to find some healthy food in Port Louis, we then continue driving to stop 5 on our road trip the next day. And we were really excited for this one! We quickly fell in love with Trou-aux-Biches and for us it’s one of the best beach destinations on the island.

Mauritius is a popular honeymoon and beach holiday destination but it has so much more to offer than beautiful beaches (although there are many of them as well). We’re really excited to get to know this African island country and its culture and cuisine. On our road trip we’ll spend three weeks driving from the South up the West coast, then further into the North and finally down the East coast. Our goal is to get to know Mauritius from all sides, as well as check out its beautiful beaches and nature.
