5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe

Grab some of our gear

Please Note: Young People Wear Many of These Styles Throughout Europe. These tips are geared toward 35+ year old travelers. Thanks for watching!

Grab a Wolters World Shirt

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

Checkout our full itinerary here :

______________________________

INNSBRUCK - 00:12
A historic city with an adventurous side. It’s surrounded by snow-capped mountains and numerous ski resorts.

00:25 - Nordkette Ski Resort
Get onto the top of a mountain and see some amazing views while having fun skiing and snowboarding.

00:45 - Swarovski Crystal World
Swarovski was founded in Austria in 1885 and celebrated its centennial anniversary in 1995 with the opening of Swarovski Crystal Worlds. The centrepiece of the park is The Giant by artist André Heller. He created the story of a giant who gathered knowledge around the world, before settling down in Tyrol to watch over Swarovski’s Chambers of Wonders!

SALZBURG - 01:04
Known for Mozart, Red Bull and The Sound of Music, Salzburg is a city bursting with culture.

01:08 - Getreidegasse Shopping Street
The town’s main shopping street. The old houses are displays of the town’s history — important dates and the names of former owners are often found inscribed on the front.

01:13 - Salzburg Cathedral
It was first built in 767, but was destroyed by fires and rebuilt several times over the years. One of the city’s most important religious buildings, the baptismal font inside is where Mozart and his sister were baptised!

01:20 - Mirabell Palace and Gardens
If you’ve watched the award-winning musical film “The Sound of Music“, this place might look familiar. It was built in 1606 by Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich for his mistress. The Sound of Music was based on the real-life von Trapp family who lived in Salzburg before World War II! The spot shown above is where Julie Andrews performed the song “Do Re Mi” in the movie.

01:26 - Hohensalzburg Fortress
The biggest fully preserved castle in Central Europe is the Hohensalzburg Fortress in Salzburg. Built-in 1077, it’s located on top of Festungsberg hill — with unobstructed views of Salzburg's old town.

01:44 - Mozart Museum
Visit the childhood home of the famed composer Mozart, it is now converted into a museum furnished with original furniture, portraits and instruments displayed.

01:53 - Hangar-7
Here you’ll find a collection of aircraft and Formula 1 race cars on display — free for the public to visit!

HALLSTATT - 02:02
Home to the world’s oldest salt mine! A small village of 750 residents but millions of tourist flock over here each year for its picture postcard view.

02:26 - Hallstatt Skywalk
This 350-metre-high viewing platform offers panoramic views of Hallstatt Old Town and Hallstätter See, the alpine lake that connects Hallstatt and the village of Obertraun. Get the best view of all Hallstatt here.

02:37 - Salzwelten Hallstatt
This is the world’s oldest salt mine — over 7000 years old! The salt mine is closely linked with the town’s history and the tour is both educational and scenic.

VIENNA - 03:02

03:20 - Adante-Cooking Class
Learn all about Viennese cuisine by cooking with a local chef! Andante teaches guests how to prepare a full Viennese meal — a starter (depending on the season), schnitzel with potato salad, and apple strudel.

03:38 - Café Sacher
When in Vienna, you’ve got to have the Sacher-Torte and coffee at Sacher Eck Cafe. This rich chocolate cake with apricot jam and whipped cream dates back to 1832 and is now a household name in Austria.

03:50 - Viennese Sausages at Bitzinger Würstelstand
Grabbing a bite at a Würstelstand (sausage stand) is a must. Würstelstands are found all over the city, but Bitzinger Würstelstand (located right beside the Vienna State Opera) is the most well-known.

04:04 - Vienna Ice Dream
This isn’t your typical ice rink. From January to early March, Vienna Ice Dream takes over the area in front of City Hall and the surrounding Rathaus Park — transforming it into a massive ice skating park.

???????? Salzburg Things to Do #Shorts #Austria #Salzburg

24 hours in Salzburg Austria is plenty of time to see most of the main attractions. In this vlog, we take you on a Salzburg walking tour. Salzburg is known for Mozart, Red Bull, and salt mining. Here are the things we did while spending one day in Salzburg. #Shorts #Austria #Salzburg

Our first stop was at Kapuzinerberg. This is a hill on the eastern side of Salzburg's Salzach River. From the top of the hill, we got great views of Salzburg. Next we made our way to Salzburg's Old Town. In the Old Town of Salzburg (Altstadt), we walked down the famous shopping street Getreidegasse. This street has decorative signs above the storefronts. It's also the birthplace of Mozart. Mozart was born on Getreidegasse in 1756. At the end of the street, we tried the world famous Salzburger Mozartkugel (Mozart Balls). These famous chocolate balls can be sampled at Cafe Konditorei Fürst. Next, we made our way to University Square to try a pretzel from Salzburger Brezen. These pretzels were the size of my head! After leaving University Square, we made our way to Residenzplatz. From here, we could see the Salzburg Cathedral and a giant fountain. Then we visited Mozartplatz to see a statue of the famous composer. Right around the corner from Mozartplatz is Kapitelplatz. This square features a giant chess board. From here we could also see Fortress Hohensalzburg (Salzburg's Castle). After all of our walking, it was time for lunch. For lunch we went to Bärenwirt. It's been in business since 1663 and is popular for its fried chicken. The chicken was great, but we loved the potato salad at Bärenwirt. We highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. After lunch, our last stop of our Salzburg walking tour was at Mirabell Palace. The Mirabell Gardens are spectacular! We also visited the Marble Hall which is said to be one of the most beautiful wedding halls in the world. The palace also has the Pegasus Fountain, which was a filming location for the Sound of Music, and the Dwarf Garden. We had a wonderful day exploring Salzburg, Austria!
