Aitutaki Most Amazing 4k Drone Footage Island in the Cook Islands

The Lagoon

The coral lagoon is perhaps the main reason people vacation in Aitutaki, it is approximately 15 km from top to bottom and 12 km along the base. It is filled with colourful, tropical fish, plentiful coral, sea turtles and long sandy beaches.
Aitutaki is one of the Cook Islands, which are in the South Pacific. It consists of a main island, a turquoise lagoon and a surrounding barrier reef. The lagoon’s waters teem with marine life, including rays, bonefish and turtles. Near the main town of Arutanga, trails lead to the top of Maunga Pu hill. Boats run to small uninhabited islands called motu, including tiny Tapuaetai, known for its white sand beaches. ― Google

Spiagge bianchissime, lagune turchesi, fondali vergini, foreste tropicali, frutta fresca, sorrisi e gioia di vivere, queste sono le Isole Cook, un pezzo del grande mondo polinesiano del lontano Oceano Pacifico.

4k beach walk Cook Islands in Titikaveka Takitumu district

I walked from Titikaveka region to Sea Change Villas in Takitumu district in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. The lagoon is insanely beautiful during a sunshine good day. The color of the lagoon is breathtaking UNREAL. I didn't think it was real the first few times when I saw the ocean through gaps of bushes and trees. My brain constantly tried to trick me it was something else, cuz I'd never seen such turquoise blue ocean color. Then I realized damn those photos on magazines and advertisements aren't fake. The color of the ocean can be like this in real life!

Rarotonga | Cook Islands | Beach Front Villa walk-around on a windy day

Walk-around the Coral Villa at 'Sands Villas Rarotonga' in Titikaveka | Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
The Villa is located directly at the beach on the south coast of Rarotonga, the view over the lagoon is amazing and it's surrounded by a beatiful tropical garden.

Titikaveka Beach in Rarotonga in the Cook Islands is a beautiful beach with good snorkeling

Titikaveka Beach lies 2 miles (3.2 km) south west of Muri Beach outside the Muri Lagoon. It is often chosen as an alternative to Muri Beach as it has good swimming and snorkeling. We liked the beach better than Muri and we appreciated that it is much less visited. As a matter of fact we had it almost all for ourselves.
Snorkeling here is comparable to Muri Beach, but not as good as there are fewer fish. The corals here appear to be a little healthier, but not by much.

The trees provide ample shade, if needed.

There are fewer rocks and sea cucumbers compared to Muri Beach. Due to the potential presence of stone fish, we recommend to wear water shoes when you get into the water.

Aitutaki Cook Islands beach walk around budge stay Aitutaki Tom's beach cottage with sunset view

I stayed in Tom's Beach Cottage while I was in Aitutaki enjoying Cook Islands beach walk and sunset view. This is the cheapest budge stay or accommodation in Aitutaki in my knowledge. Don't have any expectation for this place. With $35NZD/night it is down to earth simple with some broken/not working properly facilities. There's no aircon, but you get your OWN ROOM with a queen size bed oh yes and a fan plus shared kitchen and toilet/shower rooms. Teresa is the manager who takes care this place with her sons, she is very nice. She even took time off from her work taking me to the hospital and stayed there entire time with me! Location is great close to town and right infront of the lagoon. You can call (682)31051 for booking. Please mind it cost $2.5 NZD/min, and her sons don't really speak English. Do not call during the day as Theresa is working in school. They used to have gmail for contact, but she told me now they have new gmail box, and I forgot to write the email address down...

Here's my journal:
Day03 3/12 So I didn't have a good night sleep at all again. My whole body was so uncomfortable since sickness has got worse. Anyway I still manage to get up and I do feel better after I move around. I hardly eat anything as I have no appetite at all. My whole body is so thirsty that my throat is constantly drying out ,and weird thing is water doesn't refresh me. At close to 10 am Teresa comes to pick me up and takes me to the hospital. I can't believe how grateful I feel that the hostel manager even takes her time off from work doing this great favor for me. After I get to the hospital ( it's actual size is like a clinic), the European looking nurse measures my temperature and blood. I'm in a light fever of 38.3C. No wonder I feel heated up and no energy walking. After waiting 15 mins I'm in the doctor's office. The Vietnamese doctor is very patient and nice asking me all the symptoms and diagnoses my sickness. I'm surprised with only 50 ntz, I get my blood and urine tested, and I also receive medicine. So I go back to the hostel with bunch of pills to take, and take them as soon as I get back. And instantly notice god damn it I throw up with one type of medicine the doctor issued. So now I can only take others making sure my stomach doesn't reject wasting them. I can only eat fruits right now as it's the only thing doesn't get my stomach sick, but I need to get fruits, and I'm dying and craving for fruits as my body screams. I don't get fed with the fruit trees here in the hostel garden. There's a gal staying right next to my room, and I'm surprised she knows I'm sick because she's asking how I'm doing. It turns out she was the nurse whom I just saw..and I didn't know she is staying here also.

Day04 3/13 The medicine instantly works making me feels better. Although I'm not completely recovered, however I'm having less back pain and burning lower stomach. I still have the feeling of lower part of stomach is detached and heavy. My mouth is full of bitter taste from the sickness and the medicine. My tongue and throat are covered with thick substance making them real uncomfortable. When I'm laying in bed, I just wish I'm home. I even think dying in the paradise may not be a bad idea haha. Despite all that I'm still going to town and buy some fruits. So I hitchhike to the so called largest/main grocery stores in town. Fruits are super expensive with one small bag of grapes that costs 10 ntz. I just got 2 apples with 2 ntz each. And I'm walking to the morning traditional market hoping I can get some cheap fruits. Only I find out they are all closed so I walk back to the grocery store trying to get more sweet thing. I end off getting a fruit shake which costs 8 NZD, and very disappointingly it has no fruit taste at all but chocolate milk. I go back to the hostel and snorkel at the backyard in the beautiful wave less ocean. They're so many sea cucumbers laying on the bottom. I feel less grossness once I'm in the water. I guess the floating pressure keeps my stomach flat, but after 15 mins I vomit. I then take a cold shower at the end of the day. It's cold but I still shower myself washing my hair.

4k street view mountain roads in Avaavaroa Tapere Cook Islands bike riding

My local friend took me to a ride on the back roads and mountains roads for 4k street view in Avaavaroa Tapere around south island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Later that day we went to a lagoon beach and discovered a lifeless crab which was still kicking and moving a bit.
