On Day 37 of our Round The World Trip For Food, we continued the food tour of Hong Kong starting with a classic Hong Kong breakfast of lemon tea and a beef and scrambled egg sandwich. We then had some delicious bamboo pounded noodles and wonton, and then continued to have dinner at a famous dai pai dong.

00:29 Sun Hang Yuen (新香園 堅記 Thank you to Josephine for this recommendation) - For breakfast in Hong Kong we headed over to Sham Shui Po and went to a classic Hong Kong cafe and restaurant called Sun Hang Yuen (新香園 堅記). I ordered my usual hot lemon tea, a glass of black tea with a half of a lemon chopped up inside. It was wonderful. We then had a beef and scrambled egg sandwich, which was surprisingly much better than I thought it was going to be. The bread was toasted wonderfully and the beef and eggs on the inside tasted so good, fried in what I think was butter. Total price - 33 HKD ($4.25)

4:58 Sham Shui Po market - After eating breakfast we walked around the Sham Shui Po market, a local fresh wet market in Hong Kong. The market was busy and stocked with everything you could imaging that goes into Hong Kong food.

6:29 Kwan Kee Bamboo Noodle (坤記竹昇面) - There are many famous restaurants in Hong Kong that serve egg noodles and wonton, but I really wanted to find a restaurant that specialized in bamboo kneaded noodles, which is becoming harder and harder to find in Hong Kong. So finally I found a place called Kwan Kee Bamboo Noodle (坤記竹昇面), a new restaurant that uses the owner's family recipe and technique for making his noodles. I was hoping to get to see the noodles being made, but unfortunately they weren’t making them at the time we got there to eat. Nevertheless, the noodles were still made using a bamboo pole to knead the dough. The noodles were amazing, had such a fantastic texture to them, and the wontons were equally as delicious. It was a fantastic noodle eating experience in Hong Kong. Total price - 84 HKD ($10.83)

13:11 Mong Kok, Ladies Market - Mongkok is one of the most famous areas in Hong Kong for shopping, and we walked around the area for a little bit. Ladies Market is a walking street flea market where you’ll find everything from clothes to souvenirs to luggage.

16:40 Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Star Ferry - 2.3 HKD ($0.30) - After walking around Mongkok we took the bus over to Tsim Sha Tsui to walk around and enjoy the views of the skyline of Hong Kong.

18:26 Tung Po Restaurant at Java Road Market (Thank you to Charles for this recommendation) - For dinner, we went to Java Road Market, and to a restaurant called Tung Po, that’s a well known dai pai dong restaurant within the market. They serve a huge menu of different Cantonese and even Thai dishes. My wife and I ordered a couple of different dishes, the highlight of the meal being the razor clams stir fried in black bean sauce. In addition to the food, the ambiance of the restaurant is exactly what you want in Hong Kong. Total price - 464 HKD ($59.83)

26:00 A Symphony of Lights - Finally to end this day of food in Hong Kong we went back to Tsim Sha Tsui to see the symphony of lights show.

Hong Kong Street Food - LEGENDARY Dai Pai Dong in Sham Shui Po!!! BEST Street Food in Hong Kong!

SNAKE SOUP in Hong Kong episode 1:

Welcome to the second episode of our Hong Kong street food series. Today, we will be showing you some of the best and affordable street food and local, traditional food you can find in the Sham Shui Po area, a district that preserves the feel of Old Hong Kong - where the locals live!

To start our day, we have a traditional beef sandwich with a Hong Kong style milk tea (total 37 HKD / 4.71 USD). The beef was juicy and tender. No extra sauce needed! We explore the Sham Shui Po market for tons of shopping and locate a rare street food at a shop specializing in soy bean. We had fried tofu chunks stuffed with fish paste. It was awesome watching the chefs prepare the tofu. This snack was so delicious and CHEAP (15 HKD / 1.91 USD for 5 pieces). And of course, we washed it down with fresh soy milk (7 HKD / 0.89 USD). Continuing through the street food market, we came by a Cantonese classic dish - cheong fun! This stall was unique however because the shape of the cheong fun (10 HKD / 1.27 USD for small) was rolled into small bites like the Korean street food Tteokbokki. Such a great street food to enjoy in a small Hong Kong alleyway! To end the day, we eat at one of the most important street food restaurants in all of Hong Kong, at a dai pai dong. Dai pai dong’s are quite important because they are quickly disappearing off the streets and becoming modernized. There are only a few left that truly preserve the culture of Hong Kong and Oi Man Sang is one of the few! We had Hong Kong style clams, beef and rice street side! It all was mouthwatering and the chefs were cooking right on the street (298 HKD / 37.96 USD including beers).

24 Hours of STREET FOOD in HONG KONG!! Halal Dim Sum + World's JUICIEST Dumplings!

This city knows how to eat! I'm taking you for a full day of classic Hong Kong foods! This is 24 hours of eating across Hong Kong. One of the great foodie cities of the world you will never get tired of Cantonese food.

Today we try something you may not consider Hong Kong style food : spaghetti!? That's right, cha chaan teng's serve up a unique blend of east meets west breakfast foods. After that it's strictly Cantonese, it's dim sum time! A quick ding ding ride lands us at HK's best halal dim sum joint. Next, a quick visit to the best view point in the city (if you're lucky).

We also tried the JUICIEST dumplings I have ever come across in all my years of traveling, these things are hazardous!! Finally for dessert we're taking you for the iconic Hong Kong egg waffle!

Hong Kong SEAFOOD HEAVEN ???????? $125 Cantonese Food at Hong Kong’s ONLY Floating Fish Market!

Hong Kong is OBSESSED with seafood and I am finally back here to experience it all! This city knows how to eat and thats why we’re here! Today we are heading to the town of Sai Kung, famous for its floating fish market. You can find any seafood you can imagine here in Sai Kung. Choose from the boats or head to one of the many seafood restaurants and choose from their tank!

After heading back to Hong Kong central we stopped for a bowl of beef noodles and got ready for our scenic harbour cruise aboard the Aqualuna Junk Boat!

After a long flight from New York City, we woke up in the morning in Hong Kong ready to explore and eat. Stay tuned for delicious Hong Kong food and attractions in this video!

3:12 Lin Heung Teahouse (蓮香樓) - One of the most legendary places to eat dim sum in all of Hong Kong is Lin Heung Tea House, which remains a classic. When I went to Hong Kong on my first visit I ate there, and I try to go there every time I’m in Hong Kong. While the dim sum might not be the absolute best in Hong Kong, what can’t be beaten is the traditional Hong Kong tea house atmosphere. It’s always loud, packed, and you don’t know exactly what you’ll be getting, but it’s always one of the greatest dim sum experiences you’ll have. Today at Ling Heung tea house, I didn’t get all the dim sum dishes I really wanted, but that’s alright, it was still fun. Price - 171 HKD

11:07 Lunch at Kau Kee Restaurant (九記牛腩) - Brisket noodles is a dish you have to eat in Hong Kong, and one of the most famous restaurants in Hong Kong to eat brisket is Kau Kee, which has been in business for decades — they are almost synonymous with brisket in Hong Kong. Although this restaurant has become a bit of a tourist hit in Hong Kong, they still serve an outstanding bowl of brisket noodles, and what I like ever better: brisket tendon curry. The curry is packed full of flavor and mixed with a combination of shredded brisket and lumps of tendon. It’s worth the wait in line to eat here. Total price - 93 HKD ($11.99) got brisket noodles and tendon curry

16:29 Man Mo Temple - Since we were in the area after eating Hong Kong brisket noodles, we stopped off for a few minutes at Man Mo Temple right in the heart of Hong Kong.

18:21 Victoria Peak / Peak Tram - By this time in the early afternoon, Ying and I were starting to get really sleepy — a combination of the jet lag and the food. So we went back to the hotel to take a rest. I then woke up and since the weather looked to be pretty clear, I made a run for Victoria Peak. Many people take the Peak Tram to the top of the mountain for a view over Hong Kong, but when I saw the long queue to take the tram, I decided just to hike. The hike took less than an hour, and I needed the exercise. Visiting Victoria Peak is one of the top things to do in Hong Kong, and it gives you an idea of the compactness and density of Hong Kong.

21:57 祥利飯店 Restaurant (Thanks to Tim Lai for this recommendation) - I’m not sure of the English name of this restaurant, but for dinner we headed to this restaurant, which is a simple Cantonese made to order restaurant. The food was good, and it was a great Hong Kong atmosphere. Total price - 280 HKD ($36.10)

Day 35 in Hong Kong was a wonderful day of delicious Hong Kong food and attraction!

OLDEST Dim Sum House vs. LUXURY Dim Sum in Hong Kong | How to Eat Dim Sum in Hong Kong Guide!

A trip to Hong Kong would not be complete without some dim sum, and this time, I tried out a couple different experiences. I went for old fashioned traditional dim sum at Lin Heung Tea House and then for fancy luxury dim sum at Yan Toh Heen.

Hong Kong Street Food - DIM SUM HEAVEN + World's BEST Roast Goose!! ICONIC Street Food in Hong Kong!

This is the LAST episode of our Hong Kong street food series. In today’s episode, we will be eating the most CLASSIC street foods at local restaurants including DIM SUM, ROAST GOOSE, HONG KONG NOODLES, AND EGG TARTS WITH HONG KONG MILK TEA! Today, we are eating like a local!

For breakfast, we choose a very traditional and local dim sum restaurant that is street side. We ate siao mai, char siu bao, shrimp cheong fun, beef balls and tea. So delicious, healthy and WAY cheaper than some modern dim sum shops (81 HKD / 10.32 USD). We ride the Ding Ding (trams) toward Central Hong Kong to head to one of the BEST and Michelin recommended roast goose shops in all of Hong Kong - Yat Lok. Although quite expensive, this shop has PERFECTED the roast goose recipe and is worth it. The skin holds so many dimensions of flavour and the meat underneath is extremely tender and SO JUICY (223 HKD / 28.41 USD for quarter goose with drumstick). We were quite full so we took a walk down through the Fish Market. Later in the day, we visit a place that is known to serve some of the most traditional style Hong Kong “cart noodles” in the city. For a cheap price, you can assemble the bowl exactly how you want it. We recommend the braised chicken wing, radish and spicy sauce. Don’t forget to add the Sichuan oil if you love the “mala” flavour. Man Kee Cart Noodle began as a traditional cart serving noodles which expanded into a very popular restaurant while maintain the original taste (31 HKD / 3.95 USD per bowl). Finally, after being quite full, we head for a dessert at a cafe that has not changed over the MANY years it has been open. Packed with an older generation of Hong Kong folk, this cafe serves a perfect Hong Kong egg tart paired with a classic HK milk tea (20 HKD / 2.55 USD tart + tea). SO DELICIOUS and a great way to end our insane street food tour & series in Hong Kong!

Hong Kong's food scene is unbeatable! In our previous food tour we uncovered the greatest cheap eats to the best Michelin starred restaurants in Hong Kong. Join us once again for part 4 of Hong Kong Food Tour as we visit Tung Po Dai Pai Dong, a popular hawker style cooked food stall known for its authentic and delicious Cantonese food, best enjoyed with a good group of friends. One of the best things about Tung Po is the owner, Robbie who loves dancing and taking selfies, filling the room with a lively atmosphere. He even showed us how to open a beer with a chopstick! We also make a stop at Pici for the tastiest handmade pasta dishes in Hong Kong and experience yum cha on a whole new level at Lung King Heen, as their dim sums are made from premium ingredients. Their abalone and chicken pastry and lobster and scallop siu mai is a must try! Hong Kong Food: Dai Pai Dong

Dai Pai Dong literally translates to “big license stall” referring to their bigger than average license plates displayed in their stall. Founded after the Second World War, the license to operate a Dai Pai Dong was a means provided by the government to families of deceased and injured civil servants as a way to earn a living. We meet up with Alex who takes us to try some of his favourite Dai Pai Dong dishes such as Sweet & Sour Pork, Razor Clams, Garlic Scallops and Fried Squid. Of course, no Dai Pai Dong meal is complete without some friends and ice-cold beers.

There is no better way to finish off a full day of eating than with dessert. There are so many options to choose from but let’s keep it simple. Mango Sago or Egg Waffles?
