TOP PLACES in Warsaw, Poland 🇵🇱 Travel Guide
The Polish capital, Warsaw, has a lot to offer potential tourists. In this travel guide, I'll talk about where to go and what to do.
My wife and I recently had the opportunity to spend a month in Warsaw. It gave us a chance to get to know the city better and find out what it has to offer as a tourist destination.
When people think of visiting Poland, they usually know that they want to go to Krakow and admire it's beauty but Warsaw isn't usually at the top of their list. The city is a mixture of modern skyscrapers, soviet buildings and at the centre is a splendid old town (rebuilt after WW2).
It has a modern metro system, which makes it an easy city to navigate. It's also affordable, safe and developing rapidly. In this travel guide, I talk about a few of our favourite places to go in Warsaw.

Top 10 tourist attractions in Warsaw-Poland 2022
Warsaw, Poland's pulsating, densely populated, and stunning capital, is in fact a city of contrasts. Despite having contemporary business districts, it maintains a strong sense of tradition in its old buildings and monuments. Although it has a diverse population, it also has a lot of picturesque cobblestone streets that are great for strolling down and people-watching.

360-degree aerial view of Wola district of Warsaw #warsaw #360degrees
In 1367 there was the first mention of the village of Wielka Wola owned by the dukes of Mazovia. The elections of Polish kings were held in Wola for many years. 10 Polish kings were elected in Koło in Wola.
During the occupation during World War II, the Germans organized the Warsaw ghetto for Jews here. The ghetto was established in 1940 and liquidated in 1942. About 370,000 Jews were gathered in the ghetto. About 83,000 Jews died of starvation and disease. Jews who survived were deported to German death camps in 1942. From August 5th to August 7th, 1944, the slaughter of Wola took place during the Warsaw Uprising. The Germans murdered about 60,000 unarmed residents of the Wola district during the Warsaw Uprising.
Thank you, Germans!
Currently, Wola is experiencing a construction boom. Many skyscrapers and new housing estates are being built here.

Warsaw Travel Guide - Poland Magical Experience
Warsaw Travel Guide - Poland Magical Experience
Warsaw (Polish: Warszawa) is the capital of Poland and, with 1.7 million inhabitants, its largest city. It is located on the Vistula River (Polish: Wisła), roughly equidistant (350 km, 217 mi) from both the Baltic Sea (Bałtyk) in the north and the Carpathian Mountains (Karpaty) in the south. The medieval capital of Poland was the southern city of Krakow, but Warsaw has been the capital of the country since 1596, and has grown to become Poland's largest city and the nation's urban and commercial center. Completely destroyed by the Nazis during World War II, the city lifted itself from the ashes. Today, almost every building in Warsaw dates to the postwar era — with what little remains of the old structures being confined largely to the restored districts of Stare Miasto (the 'old city') and Nowe Miasto ('new city'), as well as selected monuments and cemeteries, plus midwar modernist districts Ochota and Żoliborz.
Districts of Warsaw :
Centrum (Śródmieście, Wola, Mokotów, Żoliborz, Ochota, Praga Północ, Praga Południe)
The Centrum area, which also comprises the famous Warsaw Old Town. It's made up of six diverse districts and is a mixture of industrial areas and prestigious residential neighborhoods. It will be here that most travelers will spend their time in Warsaw, as most major attractions and hotels are primarily located in Śródmieście, Wola, and Mokotów.
Northern Warsaw (Bielany, Białołęka)
Western Warsaw (Bemowo, Włochy, Ursus)
Eastern Warsaw (Targówek, Rembertów, Wawer, and Wesoła)
Southern Warsaw (Ursynów, Wilanów)
The southern terminal of the Royal Route, Wilanów is home to the Wilanów Palace. Ursynów is home to the historic Natolin park and nature reserve, which hosts the College of Europe Natolin in the Potocki Palace. The area saw intense activity on the part of the Polish Home Army during the Warsaw Uprising.
Historically, the right bank was the first one to become populated, during the 9th or 10th century. However, the present city's central district, called Śródmieście lies on the left bank. The Old Town is fully contained within the borders of the city center. The central point of the city is located at the intersection of Al. Jerozolimskie and ul. Marszałkowska, near the entrance to the Metro Centrum subway station. It is good to know that the Palace of Culture is a landmark visible from almost any location in Warsaw. Should you ever get lost in the city, just walk toward the Palace of Culture and Science. The quarter delimited by Al. Jerozolimskie, ul. Marszałkowska, al. Jana Pawła II, and ul. Świętokrzyska, contains Dworzec Centralny, the main railway station, and the Palace of Culture and Science.
The public transport system in Warsaw is generally well-developed, with some 200 bus routes and 30 tram lines. The route descriptions on the tram stops are easy to follow and the tickets are cheap. It can be painfully slow, however, to travel between destinations far from the city center.
There are plenty of accomodation options in Warsaw at all budget levels. The best accomodation options are located in Śródmieście, Wola, and Mokotów. There are also many business travel hotels in Warsaw/Włochy, near the airport. If you are on a budget, do not assume that hostels are your only option.

Warsaw's vibrant international community has led to a diverse array of culinary influences. You can easily find Italian trattorias, Japanese sushi bars, Mexican taquerias, and more. The city's eclectic food culture reflects its openness to global flavors.
Poland's Jewish heritage is also celebrated through the flavors of Jewish cuisine. Be sure to sample dishes like gefilte fish, cholent, and blintzes in the historic Jewish district, where restaurants pay tribute to this rich culinary history.
One of the standout experiences in Warsaw is indulging in street food. Traditional Polish street food, such as zapiekanka (oven-baked baguette), and kebabs from food stalls are popular options for quick, delicious meals.
Warsaw's vibrant cafe culture is another delight. You can savor aromatic Polish coffee accompanied by delectable pastries. Szarlotka, a traditional Polish apple pie, is often a sweet highlight.
When it comes to beverages, Poland is famous for its vodka, and you'll find a range of flavored vodkas to try. Additionally, craft beer has been on the rise in Warsaw, with microbreweries serving up creative and unique brews.
Warsaw is also a haven for food festivals and markets. Events like the Pierogi Festival and the Bread and Gingerbread Museum attract both locals and tourists who wish to explore the city's culinary heritage.
For a more contemporary dining experience, Warsaw's gastronomy scene offers a wealth of Michelin-starred and award-winning restaurants. These establishments embrace innovation and fusion, creating exciting, modern dishes that push the boundaries of Polish cuisine.
