Celle - Town in Germany
Celle is a town and capital of the district of Celle, in Lower Saxony, Germany. The town is situated on the banks of the river Aller, a tributary of the Weser and has a population of about 71,000. Celle is the southern gateway to the Lüneburg Heath, has a castle built in the Renaissance and Baroque style and a picturesque old town centre with over 400 timber-framed houses, making Celle one of the most remarkable members of the German Timber-Frame Road. From 1378 to 1705, Celle was the official residence of the Lüneburg branch of the dukes of Brunswick-Lüneburg who had been banished from their original ducal seat by its townsfolk.
The most popular tourist district of Celle is Altstadt. Most of the buildings in its territory were built in the 16th century. Exactly here, you can see lovely half-timbered houses where people still live now. Many old buildings were reconstructed into shops and restaurants. In summer, the facades of historical constructions are decorated with fresh flowers. The most beautiful house of the historic district is Hoppen House that is distinguished by the luxurious finishing of its facade. On it, you can see incredibly beautiful ornaments resembling sceneries for fables. When walking through the historic district, you can admire the old city hall built in the Renaissance style.
French Garden
The French Garden is the green lung of Celle. Though designed by French landscape artists in the 17th century, and hence the name, today the garden has a more English appearance. The most attractive part of this protected public park is the walkway flanked by towering lime trees. The park is interspersed by colorful flowerbeds and meadows, and has a pond and fountain.

Germany - Northern German Countryside and Salzwedel
This video shows recordings of a tour through Northern Germany by car and by bicycle. The main site visited was Salzwedel near the former border between West and East Germany. Salzwedel is located on the German Timber-Frame Road. It was first mentioned as a town in 1233. In the Middle Ages Salzwedel belonged to the Hanseatic League. In 1943 a female concentration camp was built a subcamp in Salzwedel, capable of holding more than 1,000 female prisoners. Eventually control of the city was turned over to the Soviet Red Army, causing Salzwedel to become part of the German Democratic Republic. On November 9, 1989 the East-West German border crossing near Salzwedel was opened.Chapters:

One day in Celle! 🇩🇪Celle is a town and capital of the district of Celle in Lower Saxony, in north-central Germany. The town is situated on the banks of the river Aller, a tributary of the Weser, and has a population of about 71,000. Celle is the southern gateway to the Lüneburg Heath, has a castle (Schloss Celle) built in the Renaissance and Baroque styles and a picturesque old town centre (the Altstadt) with more than 400 timber-framed houses, making Celle one of the most remarkable members of the German Timber-Frame Road. From 1378 to 1705 Celle was the official residence of the Lüneburg branch of the dukes of Brunswick-Lüneburg (House of Welf), who had been banished from their original ducal seat by its townsfolk.
What to see in one day in Celle?
•The Hoppenerhaus in Celle, Poststrasse 8 at the corner of Rundestrasse is considered the most magnificent half-timbered house in Celle's old town.
•The town church of St. Marien is the Evangelical Lutheran town church of Celle. It is the main preaching church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Celle church district and pastoral seat of the superintendent.
•The old town consists of the largest half-timbered ensemble in Europe and is a sight in itself. It becomes particularly romantic here at sunset, when you can sit outside in the evening with wine in one of the many restaurants.
•The Old Town Hall is a listed building in the city of Celle in Lower Saxony and was the seat of the city administration until 1999.
•The Bomann Museum is a museum for Lower Saxony folklore, state and city history in Celle and one of the largest city museums in Lower Saxony. It was named after its founder and first museum director, Wilhelm Bomann.
•Celle Castle or, less commonly, Celle Palace, in the German town of Celle in Lower Saxony, was one of the residences of the House of Brunswick-Lüneburg. This quadrangular building is the largest castle in the southern Lüneburg Heath region.
•The French Garden in Celle, in the German state of Lower Saxony, is a public park in the south of the historic old town or Altstadt. On both sides of a straight avenue of lime trees forming its east–west axis are flowerbeds, lawns, copses and a pond with a fountain. Its current appearance is no longer that of a true French Garden, but rather that of an English Garden. Laid out towards the end of the 17th century as a Baroque courtyard and leisure garden by French gardeners, Perronet and Dahuron, the gardens were given their present shape in the mid-19th century based on plans by the inspector of gardens, Schaumburg.
•The Celle Castle Park, a place that interweaves history, nature and culture, is the heart of the charming city of Celle. A popular meeting place for locals and tourists alike, the castle park not only offers a breathtaking green oasis, but also a glimpse into the city's rich past.
•The Trift facilities connect the Celle train station with the historic old town. The green area offers a lot of space, with large lawns and is used by the adjacent, very densely built-up residential areas for relaxation in the countryside. There is also a playground with various play and sports options such as swings, climbing frames and a slide.
