Wat Khun Inthapramun is an ancient temple that was constructed during the Sukhothai period, its vast size still outlined by brick ruins. The largest and longest reclining Buddha statue in Thailand, 50 meters from topknot to feet, is enshrined here. Originally, the reclining Buddha image was housed in the image hall, or Wihan, but after a fire raged through the temple, the image was abandoned to the elements for hundreds of years. Many Thai kings have paid homage to the image, including King Borommakot in 1753, King Rama V in 1878 and 1908, as well as the current king, who presented royal Kathin robes in 1973 and 1975. Inside an all-purpose pavilion, there is a statue of Khun Inthapramun (a much-storied figure) as well as his presumed remains. According to legend, Khun Inthapramun was a revenue officer who secretly embezzled the government to build the massive Buddha image. When the King asked how he obtained the funds, Khun Inthapramun did not reveal the truth because he was afraid that merit from the construction of the image would be passed on to the King. He was finally sentenced to death. There are three ways to get to the temple. First, take Ang Thong-Amphoe Pho Thong Route (Route No. 3064), then take a right turn at Km 9 for approximately 2 kilometers. Or take the road from Sing Buri province towards Amphoe Chaiyo and take a left turn at approximately Km 64-65 for 4 kilometers to reach the temple. Alternatively, take the Amphoe Wiset-Chai Chan Pho Thong Route (along the irrigation canal road) and take a right turn when arriving at Amphoe Pho Thong. Continue for 2 kilometers to reach the temple. The temple is open daily from 8.00 am-5.00 pm.

Wat Oi - 500 Year Old Temple - Ang Thong Thailand 2023
Wat Oi is an ancient temple in Wiset Chai Chan, Ang Thong. The temple is an ancient temple dating back to the Ayutthaya period.
There is evidence of construction in the year 2070 (1527 ad) and King Narusuan performing the water ceremony here during his reign. There is no evidence of who built it originally.
Wat Oi has an ordination hall, Maha Ut
Church is a large building made of bricks and mortar in the ancient Ayutthaya style. The roof is a thatched wood with 2 pairs of banana cladding type clay tiles covering overlapping to protect from the rain. The eaves of every floor have Thep Phanom. There are no windows along the wall in the hall. Around the church there is a pair of porches, front and back.
The principal Buddha image in the Ubosot is a Buddha image in the Sukhothai posture, lap width 1.92 meters, height 3.20 meters, cast in bronze. The villagers call itLuang Por Dam because it is black. At one point the abbot covered the whole body with gold but it is once again it’s original color.
The Fine Arts Department has registered it as an ancient monument on February 14, 1989.
Wat Oi is a royal temple under the Maha Nikava Sangha. Located on the banks of the Noi River in the Wiset Chai Chan District and about 3 kilometers from Wiset Chai Chan Market.

Foundation has opened a home to provide shelter for troubled children, drug addicted street children or children that have been arrested, called the Children's House.
The main hall is said to have a beautiful appearance similar to the Ubosot of Wat Ratchaburana in Ayutthaya. The ordination hall is without windows and is called Maha-Ud.
The temple is off the normal tourist path but it is still worth a short visit. It would also be a good day trip from Ayutthaya to see it and some of the other sights in Ang Thong.

Thailand's BIGGEST Buddha Statue | Exploring Thailand
The Big Buddha of Thailand, also known as The Great Buddha, The Big Buddha of Thailand, Phra Buddha Maha Nawamin, and Mahaminh Sakayamunee Visejchaicharn is a statue of the Buddha, located in Ang Thong Province of Thailand.
It’s 92 meters high and 63 meters wide. Furthermore, the nearby gorgeous statue garden features statues representing Hinduism, Thai Buddhism, Taoism, and others.

Wat Muang is a popular attraction in Ang Thong province, Thailand with the largest Buddha statue in Thailand, this Buddha statue stands 92 m (300 ft) high, and is 63 m (210 ft) wide.

In addition, there are figures narrating the history of the Thai-Burmese battle in Wiset Chai Chan. At the back of the temple, there is a fish preserve, where Ang Thong signature treats and souvenirs are for sale. Wat Muang is located at Mu 6, Tambon Hua Taphan, approximately 8 kilometers from downtown. To get there, from Ang Thong-Wiset Chai Chan route (Highway No. 3195) turn at Km 29 for 1 kilometer; the temple will be on the left side of the road.

วัดม่วง ถือเป็นวัดสำคัญแห่งนึง ในจังหวัดอ่างทอง และถือว่าเป็นสถานที่เที่ยวแบบอันซีน ที่นักท่องเที่ยวไม่ควรพลาด สำหรับเราชาวพุทธ ก็สามารถแวะไปสักการะได้ตามจิตศรัทธาครับ
มาดูที่มาที่ไปหรือประวัติกันบ้างครับ:
วัดม่วง ตั้งอยู่ตำบลหัวตะพาน อำเภอวิเศษชัยชาญ อยู่ห่างจากตัวเมืองประมาณ 8 กิโลเมตร ตามถนนสายอ่างทอง-สุพรรณบุรี จากอ่างทองใช้ทางหลวงหมายเลข 3195 (อ่างทอง-วิเศษชัยชาญ) แล้วเลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าถนน รพช. อท. 4008 อีก 1 กิโลเมตร
เดิมเป็นวัดร้าง สร้างขึ้นในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนปลาย ต่อมาเมื่อเสียกรุง พม่าได้เผาผลาญบ้านเรือน วัด และพระพุทธรูปจำนวนมาก วัดม่วงจึงเหลือแค่ซากปรักหักพัง จนกระทั่งท่านพระครูวิบูลอาจารคุณ (หลวงพ่อเกษม อาจารสุโภ) ได้ธุดงค์มาปักกลดเห็นว่าเป็นสถานที่ที่น่าปฏิบัติธรรม ในระหว่างนั่งสมาธินั้น ท่านได้ปรากฏนิมิตเห็นองค์หลวงปู่ขาวและหลวงปู่แดงบอกว่าให้ช่วยบูรณะวัดขึ้นมาใหม่ หลังจากนั้นท่านจึงได้เริ่มการปฏิสังขรณ์ศาสนสถานต่าง ๆ เรื่อยมา
หลังจากนั้นวัดม่วงได้มีการพัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่อง เมื่อวันที่ 12 กันยายน พ.ศ.2529 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวได้พระราชทานวิสุงคามสีมาให้แก่วัดม่วง หลวงพ่อเกษมจึงรวบรวมจิตอธิษฐานร่วมกับประชาชนผู้มีจิตศรัทธาสมทบทุนในการสร้างพระพุทธรูปองค์ใหญ่เพื่อน้อมเกล้าฯ ถวายแด่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว มีพระนามว่า “พระพุทธมหานมินทร์ศากยมุนีศรีวิเศษชัยชาญ” มีขนาดหน้าตักกว้าง 62 เมตร สูง 93 เมตร พุทธลักษณะงดงามสีทองอร่าม สามารถมองเห็นได้จากระยะไกล ใช้เวลาก่อสร้างทั้งสิ้นถึง 16 ปี
โบสถ์วัดม่วงมีความวิจิตรงดงามใหญ่โต แปลกตาด้วยการล้อมรอบด้วยกลีบบัวปูนปั้นที่สวยงาม และใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก ภายในมีภาพจิตรกรรมเกี่ยวกับประวัติพระพุทธเจ้า ส่วนบริเวณรอบ ๆ วัดมีรูปปูนปั้นพระอรหันต์ เทพเจ้าต่าง ๆ ทั้งจีนและพราหมณ์ มีการจำลองเมืองนรก-สวรรค์ ที่แฝงไปด้วยคติสอนใจ และเหตุการณ์สำคัญของค่ายบางระจัน ให้ผู้ที่เดินทางมานมัสการได้ศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ที่ควรจดจำ

Kham Yat Palace or Phra Tamnak Kham Yat is a historic palace in Thailand, located in the area of an abandoned temple, Wat Pho Thong, Kham Yat Subdistrict, Pho Thong District, Ang Thong Province in the central region.
It was built by King Borommakot, the 32nd monarch of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, to serve as his lodge while vacationing and hunting at Wiset Chai Chan (province of Ang Thong at that time).
This palace hall used to be the abode of King Uthumphon, son of Borommakot, while he was ordained as a monk. Where he stayed for a period of time before returning to stay at Wat Pradu Songtham in Ayutthaya.
It was registered as an ancient monument in Thailand by the Fine Arts Department and is considered another tourist attraction of Ang Thong.
On certain days of the late year (around 21–22 December which falls on the winter solstice), the rays of the downing sun pass through all doorways of the palace hall, a natural phenomenon similar to the case of Phanom Rung Historical Park in Buriram Province.

The Wat Muang houses the largest sitting Buddha image in Thailand measuring 84 meters tall, 92 meters including the pedestal. Surrounded by paddy fields the massive image, known as “Big Buddha of Ang Thong” dominates the area. The image, made of cement and painted in gold color was completed in 2008.
The temple’s ordination hall which is surrounded by huge lotus petals enshrines a highly revered silver image of the Buddha in the subduing Mara position.
Also on the temple grounds is a very graphic diorama of Buddhist Hell, where life-size figures of sinners are seen receiving punishments, like liars who get their tongues torn out, thieves being cut in half and people being tortured by demons.
The Wat Muang is located in the countryside off Highway 3195, just East of Wiset Chai Chan village, less than 10 kilometers West of Ang Thong town. The grounds can get very busy on weekends and Thai national holidays. Please dress respectfully and remove your shoes before entering a temple building. สวัสดีค่ะ วันนี้จะพาเพื่อนๆ ไปสัมผัสปลายพระหัตถ์ขอพร “หลวงพ่อใหญ่” หรือ “พระพุทธมหานวมินทร์ศากยมุนีศรีวิเศษชัยชาญ” ณ วัดม่วง ต. หัวตะพาน อ.วิเศษชัยชาญ จ.อ่างทอง ห่างจากตัวจังหวัดอ่างทอง ไปทางทิศตะวันตก ประมาณ 8 กิโลเมตร จากกรุงเทพ ไปตามถนนสายเอเชีย วัดม่วงจะอยู่ทางซ้ายมือ โดยสังเกตได้จากจะเห็นพระพุทธรูปขนาดใหญ่อยู่กลางทุ่งกว้าง (THE LARGEST STATUE OF BUDDHA IN THAILAND) เราจะพาไปชมความอลังการของ พระใหญ่ ในจังหวัดอ่างทอง วัดม่วง วัดเก่าแก่โบราณสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา พระพุทธรูปปางมารวิชัย ที่ชาวบ้านเรียกกันติดปากว่า “หลวงพ่อใหญ่” ใช้เวลาก่อสร้างนานกว่า 16 ปี ขนาดหน้าตักกว้าง 63 เมตร สูง 95 เมตร (Lap size: width 63 meters, height 95 meters) เป็นอีกวัดที่ได้เดินทางไปและถ่ายภาพสวยๆ มาฝากเพื่อนๆ กันสำหรับ “วัดม่วง” จ.อ่างทอง และที่ทำให้ไม่ผิดหวังนั้นคือองค์พระพุทธรูปใหญ่สุดในประเทศไทย ซึ่งมีความงดงามไม่แพ้ที่ไหน!!

วัดม่วง
เดิมเป็นวัดร้าง สร้างขึ้นในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนปลาย ต่อมาเมื่อเสียกรุง พม่าได้เผาผลาญบ้านเรือน วัด และพระพุทธรูปจำนวนมาก วัดม่วงจึงเหลือแค่ซากปรักหักพัง จนกระทั่งท่านพระครูวิบูลอาจารคุณ (หลวงพ่อเกษม อาจารสุโภ) ได้ธุดงค์มาปักกลดเห็นว่าเป็นสถานที่ที่น่าปฏิบัติธรรม ในระหว่างนั่งสมาธินั้น ท่านได้ปรากฏนิมิตเห็นองค์หลวงปู่ขาวและหลวงปู่แดงบอกว่าให้ช่วยบูรณะวัดขึ้นมาใหม่ หลังจากนั้นท่านจึงได้เริ่มการปฏิสังขรณ์ศาสนสถานต่าง ๆ เรื่อยมา
หลังจากนั้นวัดม่วงได้มีการพัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่อง เมื่อวันที่ 12 กันยายน พ.ศ.2529 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวได้พระราชทานวิสุงคามสีมาให้แก่วัดม่วง หลวงพ่อเกษมจึงรวบรวมจิตอธิษฐานร่วมกับประชาชนผู้มีจิตศรัทธาสมทบทุนในการสร้างพระพุทธรูปองค์ใหญ่เพื่อน้อมเกล้าฯ ถวายแด่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว มีพระนามว่า “พระพุทธมหานมินทร์ศากยมุนีศรีวิเศษชัยชาญ” มีขนาดหน้าตักกว้าง 62 เมตร สูง 93 เมตร พุทธลักษณะงดงามสีทองอร่าม สามารถมองเห็นได้จากระยะไกล ใช้เวลาก่อสร้างทั้งสิ้นถึง 16 ปี
โบสถ์วัดม่วงมีความวิจิตรงดงามใหญ่โต แปลกตาด้วยการล้อมรอบด้วยกลีบบัวปูนปั้นที่สวยงาม และใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก ภายในมีภาพจิตรกรรมเกี่ยวกับประวัติพระพุทธเจ้า ส่วนบริเวณรอบ ๆ วัดมีรูปปูนปั้นพระอรหันต์ เทพเจ้าต่าง ๆ ทั้งจีนและพราหมณ์ มีการจำลองเมืองนรก-สวรรค์ ที่แฝงไปด้วยคติสอนใจ และเหตุการณ์สำคัญของค่ายบางระจัน ให้ผู้ที่เดินทางมานมัสการได้ศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ที่ควรจดจำ
วัดม่วง ตั้งอยู่ตำบลหัวตะพาน อำเภอวิเศษชัยชาญ อยู่ห่างจากตัวเมืองประมาณ 8 กิโลเมตร ตามถนนสายอ่างทอง-สุพรรณบุรี จากอ่างทองใช้ทางหลวงหมายเลข 3195 (อ่างทอง-วิเศษชัยชาญ) แล้วเลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าถนน รพช. อท. 4008 อีก 1 กิโลเมตร

พระพุทธรูปที่สุดในไทยติดอันดับทีสุดในโลก
วัดม่วง เป็นวัดราษฎร์สังกัดคณะสงฆ์ฝ่ายมหานิกาย ตั้งอยู่ในตำบลหัวตะพาน อำเภอวิเศษชัยชาญ จังหวัดอ่างทอง
เดิมวัดม่วงเป็นวัดร้างเก่าแก่ สันนิษฐานว่าร้างในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนปลาย ในสมัยที่แขวงเมืองวิเศษชัยชาญเป็นเมืองหน้าด่าน มีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองมาก ต่อมาเมื่อครั้งกรุงศรีอยุทธยาต้องเสียกรุงให้แก่พม่า ทำให้กลายเป็นวัดร้าง เหลือแต่เนินดินและพระพุทธรูปศักดิสิทธิ์หินศิลาแลงสีขาวปรกหักพังมีนามว่า ขาว โผล่อยู่เหนือเดินดินครึ่งองค์ ซึ่งต่อมาหลวงพ่อเกษม อาจารสุโภ ได้หล่อปั้นด้วยเนื้อปูนหุ้มให้เต็มองค์[1] ภายหลังท่านพระคูวิบูลอาจารคุณ (หลวงพ่อเกษม อาจารสุโภ) ได้มาปักกลดธุงดงค์ เห็นว่าบริเวณนี้เคยเป็นวัดร้าง น่าปฏิบัติธรรม แต่ขณะปฏิบัติธรรม ได้ปรากฏนิมิต เห็นองค์หลวงปู่ขาวและหลวงปู่แดง มาบอกว่าให้ท่านได้ช่วยก่อสร้างวัดม่วงขึ้นมาใหม่ จน พ.ศ. 2526 ท่านพระครูวิบูลอาจารคุณ ได้มีการเริ่มบูรณะและได้สร้างเสนาสนะต่าง ๆ ขึ้น โดยได้รับการบริจาค ทั้งเงินทำบุญ และทำบุญด้วยแรงงาน ร่วมกันดำเนินงานในการก่อสร้าง จนกระทั่งวันที่ 6 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2527 กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ จึงได้มีการประกาศยกฐานะให้วัดม่วง ซึ่งเคยเป็นวัดร้างให้เป็นวัดที่มีพระสงฆ์ เมื่อวันที่ 24 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2527 ได้มีการแต่งตั้งท่านพระครูวิบูลอาจารคุณเป็นเจ้าอาวาสวัดม่วง วัดได้รับพระราชทานวิสุงคามสีมา เมื่อวันที่ 12 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2529[2]
จุดเด่นของวัด คือ พระพุทธมหานวมินทรศากยมุนีศรีวิเศษชัยชาญ หรือ หลวงพ่อใหญ่ พระพุทธรูปองค์ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก ซึ่งเป็นพระพุทธรูปปางมารวิชัย ขนาดหน้าตักกว้าง 63 เมตร สูง 95 เมตร[3] ประดิษฐานอยุ่กลางแจ้ง อุโบสถล้อมรอบด้วยกลีบบัวสีชมพูขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก วิหารแก้วชั้นล่าง เป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์วัตถุมงคลและ วัตถุโบราณ ภายในมีรูปปั้นเกจิอาจารย์ชื่อดังทั่วประเทศ ชั้นบน ประดิษฐานพระพุทธรูปศักดิ์สิทธิ์ปางมารวิชัยแบบสุโขทัย เทหล่อด้วยเนื้อเงินแท้บริสุทธิ์ บริเวณวัด มีรูปปั้นแสดงแดนนรก แดนสวรรค์ แดนเทพเจ้าไทย และแดนเทพเจ้าจีน มีรูปปั้นแสดงเหตุการณ์ในประวัติาสตร์เกี่ยวกับส่งคราม ไทย-พม่า ด้านหลังมีวังมัจฉา
