Oberstdorf is a municipality and skiing and hiking town in southwest Germany, located in the Allgäu region of the Bavarian Alps. Oberstdorf is one of the highest market towns in Germany. The southernmost point in Germany is located in the municipality of Oberstdorf . At the center of Oberstdorf is a church whose tall spire serves as a landmark for navigating around town. The summits of the Nebelhorn and Fellhorn provide dramatic panoramic views of the alps. The Nebelhorn can be reached with a big cable car. Visitors can ride a unique diagonal elevator to the top of the Heini-Klopfer-Skiflugschanze.
Oberstdorf consists of the village of Oberstdorf (813 metres above sea level, survey point by the Roman Catholic church) and five other villages:
Kornau , 915 m. In the vicinity is the Söllereckbahn and the Chapel of St. Fabian and St. Sebastian which is rich in art treasures. In Reichenbach (population: 226) is the 450-year-old Chapel of St. James and the Moorwasser swimming pool. The little hamlet of Rubi has 175 inhabitants. Typical of Schöllang are the farm houses around the Baroque onion tower of the parish church. In the vicinity is the 1531 castle church. The village of Tiefenbach takes its name from trees called Bergkiefer. The village lies on a terrace above the Breitach stream. Tiefenbach has a centuries-old spa tradition thanks to its sulphur spring. As early as the late 15th century counts and other high-ranking people convalesced here to cure their illnesses.
There is a large number of valleys in the area around Oberstdorf, many of which are not only scenic, but are often starting points for walks in the mountains. The following list shows the main valleys together with their side valleys:
Oytal and Dietersbachtal are separated by the Höfats and Rauheck. Gerstruben, Germany's highest village, lies at the entrance to the Dietersbachtal. The Rappenalptal is the longest and runs from Germany's southernmost village, Einödsbach, past the Haldenwanger Eck, Germany's southernmost point. At the end of the valley the Schrofen Pass leads to Austria.
The Allgäu Alps in the area around Oberstdorf attain heights of over 2,600 metres and belong to the Northern Limestone Alps. The best known summits in Oberstdorf are:
Fellhorn 2,038 m (Blumenberg of the Allgäu) Himmelschrofen 1,791 m Höfats 2,259 m (the most prominent Allgäu grass mountain) Kratzer 2,427 m Großer Krottenkopf 2,656 m (highest mountain of the Allgäu Alps) Mädelegabel 2,645 m (lies on the Heilbronn Way) Nebelhorn 2,224 m (with cable car) Rubihorn 1,957 m (local mountain) Schattenberg 1,845 m (by the eponymous ski jump) Schneck 2,268 m (unique shape) Trettachspitze 2,595 m Hoher Ifen 2,230 m

Weiler fue mencionado por primera vez en un documento de St. Gallen en 872 como Meginbrehtiswilare ya con la adición en albegouue para en Alpgau. El lugar era un Kellhof del monasterio de St. Gallen bajo los señores de Weiler. En 1571, Weiler fue vendido a Austria después de que los Señores de Weiler se extinguieran en la línea masculina. En 1618, la administración de Kellhöfe Weiler y Scheidegg, así como el Señorío de Altenburg, se establecieron aquí y el lugar recibió una jurisdicción inferior. Con la Guerra de los Treinta Años y la peste, el número de habitantes se redujo drásticamente entre 1628 y 1635, pero el número se recuperó rápidamente gracias a su ubicación en la Ruta de la Sal del Alto Tirol. En 1766 se construyó una carretera a Bregenz y en 1787 la sede capitular se trasladó de Grünenbach a Weiler. Weiler se convirtió en el lugar central de Westallgäu, conocido en ese momento como Ausservorarlberg. En 1770 había once posadas por cada 500 habitantes. En 1770 se completó la abolición. En 1789 el mercado fue designado por el emperador José II de Austria. Cuando Napoleón anexó Vorarlberg a Baviera, se formó un grupo de resistencia dirigido por Franz Anton Schneider. Cuando Vorarlberg regresó a Austria en 1814, el oeste de Allgäu permaneció con Baviera y sus tribunales se combinaron para formar el tribunal de distrito de Weiler. En el siglo XIX, la industria del sombrero y textil y las lecherías alpinas se establecieron aquí. En 1878 hubo discusiones sobre la fusión de las ciudades comerciales de Simmerberg y Weiler. La línea ferroviaria a Röthenbach se inauguró en 1893 y funcionó hasta 1991. En 1968, Weiler y Simmerberg se fusionaron en la ciudad comercial de Weiler-Simmerberg.

The Breitachklamm is a gorge created by the river Breitach in the Allgäu region in Southern Germany.
It is located at the exit of the Kleinwalsertal near Tiefenbach, a city district of Oberstdorf.
It is one of the deepest gorges of the Bavarian Alps and the deepest rocky gorge of Central Europe. Every year around 300.000 visitors walk the 2.5 km long path through the gorge.
The upper entrance of the Breitachklamm is located near the Walserschanz in Austria, with limited parking space, whereas the lower one in Oberstdorf-Tiefenbach offers a visitor center and ample parking.
The Breitachklamm was formed only during the last 10,000 years after the Würm ice age. Glaciers had eroded soft rocks, and hard rocks remained. Oberstdorf (Allgäu) - Im Allgäuregen durch das Trettachtal zur Hofmannsruh
Schon am Morgen beginnt es zu regnen. Die Gipfel der Oberstdorfer Berge bleiben heute wohl hinter dichten Regenwolken verborgen.
Was tun? Wir erinnern uns an unsere Wanderungen durch das Trettachtal hinauf zum Moorweiher und zur Hofmannsruh. Das müsste auch im Regen mach- und wanderbar sein.
Und so ziehen wir nach dem Frühstück voller Wanderlust los in den Allgäuregen.
Die Aufnahmen in diesem Video entstanden im September 2022. Die hier gezeigte Wanderung beginnt und endet in Oberstdorf und dauert ca. 1,5 bis 2 Stunden. Höhenmeter sind nur wenige aus dem Trettachtal hinauf zur Hofmannsruh zu bewältigen. Die Wege sind auch bei Regen gut begehbar und am Moorweiher gibt es sogar einen kleinen überdachten Picknickplatz. Sehr romantisch :-)

Le Glockenspiel est une des curiosités à voir quand on visite Munich. Ce carillon se trouve dans le beffroi haut de 88 mètres du nouvel hôtel de ville (Neue Rathaus) qui se dresse sur la Marienplatz. On en écoute un extrait.

Die Brunnen-Stadt Wangen im Allgäu
Bei der 5-Tages-Fahrt an den Bodensee, durchgeführt vom Kreisverband Groß-Gerau zur Förderung des Obstbaues der Garten- und Landschaftspflege e. V., fand auf der Heimfahrt ein Zwischenstopp in der Brunnen-Stadt Wangen im Allgäu statt. Einige der dort vorhandenen Brunnen, wie zum Beispiel der Badstuben-Brunnen, der Eselsbrunnen und der verdruckte Allgäuer sind hier zu sehen. Weiterhin das St.-Martins-Tor, das Frauentor und die St.-Martins-Kirche. Die Hintergrund Musik ist von Markus Pitzer, auch bekannt unter Dreamweaver.
