10 Most Hated Towns in England

What are the most hated towns in England? No matter how good a country is, every part of it can’t be loved equally. In fact, some parts of it are bound to be hated. Even the most fanatic lover of a country will love some parts of it less than others. I have heard some people complaining about some towns in England, the home of the Queen that some people are dying to live and work in. That prompts research into the 10 most hated towns in England.
This ranking is based mainly on the comments and complaints of residents of England and visitors to those towns. But it’s not limited to that since some complaints can be completely baseless. We dig deeper in researching these 10 most hated towns in England.
10. Slough
Let’s begin with Slough, a town in Berkshire, within the historic county of Buckinghamshire. This town is 20 miles west of central London and 19 miles northeast of Reading. You will find the town in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolis around the area at the intersection of the M4.
In spite of its location, Slough according to those visitors, is a town whose streets are littered with empty takeaway and full of packets or empty beer cans. This assertion hasn’t been contradicted by even just one resident. The quality of food in the town’s restaurants appears, kind of, made for losers who’re just out to eat as much unhealthy food as they can get away with.
9. Scunthorpe
It’s not desirable to find Scunthorpe among the most hated towns in England. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to take it out of our list because the facts obviously place it there. This industrial town in the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire should normally be the pride of Lincolnshire as its main administrative center. But the town with an estimated population of 82,334 in 2016 had many things going against it.
Residents of the UK’s largest steel processing center, also known as the Industrial Garden Town, are frustrated by a lack of the liveliness and diversity in the town only known for work. However, the loudest grouse that lists Scunthorpe alongside the most hated towns in England is the indiscriminate censorship and blocking of websites for spurious reasons.

10 Areas in the UK With Lowest Numbers of Knife Crime

If you knew us well, you would remember that we have a tradition of examining the two sides of every coin. We have once shown you the areas in the UK with the highest rate of knife crimes. Now, we have to show you the other side of this coin. In this video, we will be examining the 10 areas in the UK with the lowest number of knife crimes. We need to inform you that these areas are policing areas, not towns or cities. Also, our ranking is based primarily on the data supplied by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) for the year 2021. Of course, we occasionally examine other statistics that shed more light on the subject matter.
10. Warwickshire
The best place to begin this ranking is Warwickshire, the birthplace of legendary William Shakespeare. It is a county in the West Midlands region of England with Warwick as the county town and Nuneaton as the largest town. This county is among the 20 safest counties in the UK with an overall crime rate of 63 per 1,000 people in 2021.
Knife crime was almost unheard of in this area before 2014. Since then, there has been a 300 percent increase in the number of knife crimes in the area. According to MoJ data for 2021, the rate of knife crime in Warwickshire was 26 per 100,000 people. There were pockets of stabbings and injuries in the police report. The death rate from knife crime has been very low.
9. West Mercia
The areas we are focusing on now include the counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, and Worcestershire in England. This is where the West Mercia Police or the West Mercia Constabulary, a territorial police force is policing. As the fourth-largest police area in England and Wales, it covers an area of 7,430 square kilometers.
The figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) indicate that there was no increase in the West Mercia crime rate between 2019 and 2020. The same data indicate that West Mercia Police recorded 733 offenses involving a sharp weapon within that year, a rate of 57 knife or sharp object offenses per 100,000 residents. However, the rate is reducing with intensified efforts. The data from the MoJ on knife crime alone show the rate of 25 crimes per 100,000.
8. Sussex
The next area is a historic county in South East England. This is a former independent medieval Anglo-Saxon kingdom now bounded to the west by Hampshire and sharing its northern border with Surrey, its northeastern border with Kent, bordering the English Channel by the south. It is divided into West Sussex and East Sussex ceremonial counties.
During a standard year, the violent crime rate in Sussex is 3.32 per 1,000 residents. Given this figure, it can be considered safe. In this county, the rate of knife offenses in the year leading to 2021 was 26 per 100,000 people. This was a slight increase from 23 in 100,000 the previous year. The MoJ figures show 368 knife and offensive weapon offenders that were cautioned or convicted in the county between April 2020 and March 2021.
7. Staffordshire
Staffordshire, a landlocked county in the West Midlands region of England, bordering Cheshire to the northwest is the next. Staffordshire also shares its eastern border with Derbyshire and Leicestershire, the southeastern border with Warwickshire, the southern border with the West Midlands County and Worcestershire, and Shropshire to the west. This county is among the top 20 safest in the UK with an overall crime rate of 60 crimes per 1,000 people in 2021.
The MoJ source says its knife crime rate is 25 per 100,000 residents. This is the rate it shares with West Mercia, Sussex, and North Yorkshire. It is among the lowest in the UK.
