The fourth biggest town of Slovenia: it sounds like a lot. But is it really? To our surprise, Celje, the fourth biggest town in Slovenia, is actually not that big at all. In fact, this city would just be a small town in the US. This made us realize how small and sparsely populated Slovenia really is. We experience this even more during the two public holidays - Reformation Day and All Saints Day - that we spend in this beautiful country. There are not many people there at all.
So, Celje, Slovenia: What does this town near the capital have to offer? It turns out it's quite an old city with Celtic roots (hence the name). While walking around we discover that Slovenian cities are really well-kept. The streets are clean, there's plenty of (free!) parking, and there is a lot of beautiful architecture to admire. We even discover a very cozy area of Celje with a terrace next to a river and a view of a castle on a hill...
