Visakhapatnam formerly known as Vizagapatnam, also known as Vizag, Viśākha or Waltair, is the largest and most populous city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is between the Eastern Ghats and the coast of the Bay of Bengal. It is the second-largest city on the east coast of India after Chennai, and the fourth-largest in South India. It is one of the four smart cities of Andhra Pradesh selected under the Smart Cities Mission and is the headquarters of Visakhapatnam district. With an estimated output of $43.5 billion, it is the ninth-largest contributor to India's gross domestic product as of 2016. Visakhapatnam's history dates back to the 6th century BCE. It was ruled by the Andhra Satavahanas, Vengi, the Pallava and Eastern Ganga dynasties. Visakhapatnam was an ancient Port city which had trade relations with the Middle East and Rome. Ships were anchored at open roads and were loaded with cargo transported from Visakhapatnam shore by means of small Masula boats. A reference to Vizagapatnam merchant is available in the inscriptions of Bheemeswara temple (1068 CE) of East Godavari District. During 12th century CE, Vizagapatnam was a fortified merchandize town managed by a guild. European powers eventually established trade operations in the city, and by the end of the 18th century it had come under French colonial rule. Control passed to the East India Company in 1804 and it remained under British colonial rule until Indian independence in 1947.

1.Kailasagiri Kailasagiri is a hilltop park in the city of Visakhapatnam in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The park was developed by the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority and comprises 380 acres of land covered with flora and tropical trees.
2.Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Simhachalam Simhadri or Simhachalam is a Hindu temple located in Visakhapatnam city suburb of Simhachalam in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is dedicated to Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The central shrine was built in Kalinga architectural style.

1. Ramkrishna Mission Beach :
One of the most popular beaches of Vishakapatnam, RK beach is a beach for to spend some relaxed time, enjoy strolls across the beach, sunbath and more.
With a number of tourist spots in and around the area, one finds the beach engrossed in much hustle bustle. However, it is highly advisable to not swim at this beach, as it can be very dangerous and is said to have claimed lives in the past.
2. Araku Valley :

Located on the east coast of India, the Borra Caves are situated in the Ananthagiri of the Araku Valley in visakhapatnam district. British geologist William King discovered this million years old cave in the year 1807 and it has been a tourist favourite ever since. Breathtaking hilly terrain, beautiful landscape, semi-evergreen moist deciduous forests, and wild fauna of the Borra Caves are a visual feast. A marvellous creation of nature, the caves were formed when river waters flow through a limestone area and the calcium carbonate turns into calcium bicarbonate, which is easily washed out by the running water.The most striking feature of the caves is its exquisite variety of speleothems ranging in size and irregularly shaped stalactites and stalagmites.
Borra Caves are deemed to be one of the largest in the country and are perched at a whopping elevation of about 705 metres.
