Our Patagonia Trip started in #Santiago. I know Santiago is not part of Patagonia. However we had to pick up the mobile home in Santiago.
After landing on the Santiago Airport and reaching our hotel we had half a day to spend in Santiago. We decided to walk to the center of Santiago. Walking is a good way to visit Santiago. Santiago counts 4 million citizens, but the highlights are reachable by foot.
After an excellent lunch in a local restaurant we walked to the Centre Gabriela Mistral. Most of the people think that it is an ugly building. So do I. Via the Av Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins we reached the Plaza Vicuña Mackenna. You may climb the Cerro Santa Lucia to have a nice view over Santiago. We didn’t.
We walked through some car free streets to the Plaza de Armas. On the Plaza de Armas is a lot of activity what is really nice to see. You also find the Catedral Metropolitana de Santiago at the Plaza de Armas. We did not enter the #Cathedral but continued to the Mercado Central. A market is always a highlight to visit in a city, so also in Santiago.
On our way back we entered the Catedral Metropolitana de Santiago at the Plaza de Armas. For us, it was enough Santiago. We walked back to the hotel and had a dinner on a roof terrace with an excellent view on Santiago and the Andes mountains.

Ruta Turistik Cerro Santa Lucía
Este fue el lugar exacto donde Pedro de Valdivia fundó la ciudad de Santiago. Los conquistadores usaban este cerro como mirador y punto de reconocimiento y su nombre se atribuye a que el día de la fundación de Santiago, 13 de diciembre de 1540, se conmemora a Santa Lucía de Siracusa. En 1872 el Intendente Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna impulsa un proyecto de urbanización del parque para finalmente dejarlo en el parque urbano que conocemos hoy.

¡¡VIAJAMOS EN TREN A SAN LUIS!! - (IMPERDIBLE pasada por la LAGUNA LA PICASA) - 05/11/22
¡Viajamos en Tren a JUSTO DARACT!
En el Mes de Noviembre aproximadamente, tuvimos el honor de haber ganado un concurso de fotografía organizado por la gente de Trenes Argentinos Operaciones, y por ello ¡Fuimos acreedores del premio, que era un viaje en tren para dos personas a un destino a elección propia!
Lo cierto es que no dudamos un segundo en elegir, y aprovechamos esta oportunidad para hacer un viaje que hace mucho tiempo queríamos realizar ¡El servicio que une Retiro (Buenos Aires) con Justo Daract (San Luis)!
Como ya sabrán, este tren corre por vías del Ferrocarril San Martín.
Sale los días Viernes de Retiro LSM a las 21:15hs, y arriba a Justo Daract al día siguiente, Sábado alrededor de las 13hs aproximadamente (Siempre llega atrasado).
Para su retorno a Capital Federal, es despachado desde la Ciudad Puntana los Domingos a las 18:50hs y llega a Retiro a eso de las 10:05hs de la mañana de los Lunes.
La formación cuenta con Coches de comodidad Primera, Pullman, Dormitorio y el infaltable Comedor.
¡El viaje es totalmente recomendable, ideal para disfrutar y distender de la rutina!
Al llegar a Justo Daract, hay servicios de Micros que trabajan a modo de contratación con el Tren que trasladan los pasajeros hacia Villa Mercedes, Merlo y San Luis Capital.
Sino, a unas 8 cuadras de la Estación, se encuentra la Terminal de Micros donde la Empresa PANAHOLMA brinda servicios similares, aunque NO los recomendamos ya que tuvimos una mala experiencia.
Para el video, hicimos algunas tomas (Lo que pudimos) en diferentes trayectos del extenso viaje para que aprecien un poco lo lindo que es.
¡Lo mejor de lo mejor, tuvimos un hermoso amanecer desayunando en el Coche Comedor mientras cruzábamos la imponente Laguna LA PICASA, sin dudas la joya del viaje una vista y una sensación impagable!

The Atacama Desert (Spanish: Desierto de Atacama) is a plateau in South America, covering a 1,000-kilometre (600 mi) strip of land on the Pacific coast, west of the Andes mountains. It is the driest non-polar desert in the world.According to estimates the Atacama Desert proper occupies 105,000 square kilometres (41,000 sq mi),[ or 128,000 square kilometres (49,000 sq mi) if the barren lower slopes of the Andes are included. Most of the desert is composed of stony terrain, salt lakes (salares), sand, and felsic lava that flows towards the Andes.
The World Wide Fund for Nature defines the Atacama Desert ecoregion as extending from a few kilometers south of the Peru–Chile border to about 30° south latitude. The National Geographic Society considers the coastal area of southern Peru to be part of the Atacama Desert and also includes the deserts south of the Ica Region in Peru.Peru borders it on the north and the Chilean Matorral ecoregion borders it on the south. To the east lies the less arid Central Andean dry puna ecoregion. The drier portion of this ecoregion is located south of the Loa River between the parallel Sierra Vicuña Mackenna and Cordillera Domeyko. To the north of the Loa lies the Pampa del Tamarugal.
Although the almost total lack of precipitation is the most prominent characteristic of the Atacama Desert, exceptions may occur. In July 2011, an extreme Antarctic cold front broke through the rain shadow, bringing 80 cm (31 in) of snow to the plateau, stranding residents across the region, particularly in Bolivia, where many drivers became stuck in snow drifts and emergency crews became overtaxed with a large number of rescue calls.
This phenomenon is called the altiplano winter, which can produce a little rain and abundant thunderstorms, and occurs in January and February. In 2012, the altiplano winter brought floods to San Pedro de Atacama.
On March 25, 2015, heavy rainfall affected the southern part of the Atacama desert. Resulting floods triggered mudflows that affected the cities of Copiapo, Tierra Amarilla, Chile, Chanaral, and Diego de Almagro, causing the deaths of more than 100 people.
Calle Nueva York, Santiago de Chile - Barrio La Bolsa

El Barrio La Bolsa se encuentra ubicado en el cuadrante conformado por Alameda, Paseo Ahumada, Moneda y Bandera, en el centro de la ciudad de Santiago, Chile. Dentro de esta manzana se forman tres calles angulares interiores: La Calle Nueva York, La Bolsa y Club de la Unión, que rompen con el tradicional plano damero del centro de Santiago. Fue declarado Monumento Nacional de Chile, en la categoría de Zona Típica, mediante el Decreto Supremo n.º 606, del 29 de diciembre de 1989.
Su origen está en los terrenos del Convento de las Agustinas, que fue fundado en 1576, y que se encontraba en la cuadra entre Alameda, Bandera, Agustinas y Ahumada.3 En el año 1852 las monjas vendieron la mitad norte del terreno que ocupaban, para abrir la calle Moneda hacia el oriente.3 En la mitad sur fue construida la Iglesia de las Agustinas, inaugurada en 1847.4
En el año 1912 las monjas decidieron lotear el terreno para trasladar el claustro a unos terrenos de la Avenida Vicuña Mackenna. La primera institución que decidió comprar un terreno fue el Club de la Unión, que se instaló en la intersección de Alameda con Bandera. En la intersección de Bandera con Moneda se instaló el edificio de la Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago, que fue el primer edificio del barrio en estar de pie en 1917.4 Posteriormente se levantaron el Edificio del ex Hotel Mundial, y el Edificio Ariztía, considerado el primer rascacielos de Santiago.

The Barrio La Bolsa is located in the quadrant made up of Alameda, Paseo Ahumada, Moneda and Bandera, in the center of the city of Santiago, Chile. Within this block there are three interior angular streets: New York, La Bolsa and Club de la Unión, which break with the traditional checkerboard plan of downtown Santiago. It was declared a National Monument of Chile, in the category of Typical Zone, by Supreme Decree No. 606, of December 29, 1989.
Its origin is in the lands of the Agustinas Convent, which was founded in 1576, and which was located on the block between Alameda, Bandera, Agustinas and Ahumada.3 In 1852 the nuns sold the northern half of the land they occupied , to open Calle Moneda to the east.3 In the southern half, the Agustinas Church was built, inaugurated in 1847.4

Episodio de ANDO EN MICRO, en Chile le decimos micro a los buses urbanos y rurales. En este episodio, grabé el viaje completo en el recorrido 'E13 Bellavista de La Florida - Gabriela' de Transantiago, operado por la empresa 'Buses Vule'.
Esperé este bus en el sector de 'Vicente Valdés', además del recorrido, este video tiene otro valor agregado al poder documentar el único bus 'Metalpar Tronador' con chasis 'Mercedes Benz O500U' que está en Chile. Este bus fue fabricado en 2004 en Argentina, fue exportado para ser parte de Transantiago pero después de varios años sin uso, el bus fue adquirido en 2010 por 'Unitran' y desde 2012 pertenece a 'Buses Vule'. En su tiempo en 'Vule', el conductor 'Claudio Pardo' murió en 2013 y como homenaje, el bus tuvo unos arreglos especiales.
En el video también se exploran informaciones referentes a los distintos barrios del bus, abordando temáticas como el documental 'Cuentos sobre el Futuro' y el problema del incendio subterráneo en los pozos áridos de 'Puente Alto'.

Ñuñoa (Spanish pronunciation: [ɲuˈɲo.a]; from Mapudungun Ñuñohue, place of yellow flowers) is a commune of Chile located in the Santiago Province and the Santiago Metropolitan Region. The oldest municipality in the traditional east end of Santiago, Ñuñoa has most city amenities (subways, banks, shopping areas, etc.) while still maintaining its character as a quiet, residential area, residential commune.[6] It belongs to the Northeastern zone of Santiago de Chile.
Recently, Ñuñoa's many charms and convenient location have led to an increased desire by young urban professionals to live there. In response, developers have bought out older homes and erected multi-dwelling units, a practice that has triggered much criticism from long-time residents.[7] In 2007, Ñuñoa was cited for the third consecutive year as the district with the highest quality of life in Santiago.

Ñuñoa boasts bustling public services and private businesses and a public transportation system serving all parts of the municipality. Most business activity takes place along Irarrázaval Ave., a 6-km thoroughfare crossing the entire municipality east-west. Ñuñoa is also home to Santiago’s only mosque and to the National Stadium, Chile’s largest sports complex
Ñuñoa (en mapudungun: ñuñowe ‘lugar de ñuños’) es una comuna ubicada en el sector nororiente de la ciudad de Santiago, capital de Chile. Sus límites son: al norte y poniente con Providencia, al sur con Macul, al poniente con Santiago, al surponiente con San Joaquín, al suroriente con Peñalolén y al oriente con La Reina. Las calles que la limitan son al norte calle Malaquías Concha, Diagonal Oriente y av. Eliecer Parada, al sur Rodrigo de Araya, al oriente Avenida Ossa/Américo Vespucio y al poniente Av. Vicuña Mackenna. Tiene una superficie de 16,9 km² y según el censo del año 2002 sumaba 163 511 habitantes, mientras que según el censo del año 2017 son 208 237 habitantes, aumentando en un 27,3 % en quince años.
La comuna es reconocida por ser una de las comunas con mayor calidad de vida de Santiago,34 también es catalogada como una de las más seguras de Chile y su índice de desarrollo humano es uno de los más altos del país.
Ñuñoa alberga la mayor cantidad de profesionales con estudios universitarios de Chile (18,11 % del total de profesionales del país) y está compuesta por grupos socio económicos medios, medios-altos y altos.56
