Die Stadtrand Winterthur mit wunderschöner Natur

Winterthur (französisch Winterthour, lateinisch Vitudurum, umgangssprachlich kurz Winti genannt) ist mit 115'129 Einwohnern (31. Dezember 2021) die sechstgrösste Stadt der Schweiz und die zweitgrösste des Kantons Zürich. Per 31. Januar 2023 ist die Einwohnerzahl auf über 120.000 gestiegen.[5] Die Stadt ist als politische Gemeinde auch Hauptort des gleichnamigen Bezirks. Winterthur war früher eine bedeutende Industriestadt und ist heute als Dienstleistungs-, Bildungs-, Kultur- und Freizeitzentrum mit 16 Museen bekannt. Der Bahnhof Winterthur bewältigt als Knotenpunkt die fünfthöchste Passagierfrequenz der Schweiz;[6] 15 Kilometer südwestlich liegt der Flughafen Zürich.

Wülflingen ist der nordwestlichste Stadtteil der Stadt Winterthur. Er grenzt an die Kreise Winterthur, Veltheim im Nordosten und Töss im Südosten. Im Süden grenzt Wülflingen an die Gemeinde Brütten und im Westen an Oberembrach, Pfungen und Neftenbach. An einem kleinen Streifen im Norden besitzt Wülflingen noch eine gemeinsame Grenze mit Hettlingen.

Der Stadtkreis liegt eingebettet zwischen den bewaldeten Hügeln Wolfensberg, Taggenberg und Brüelberg. Ebenfalls zum Stadtteil gehört die Aussenwacht Neuburg im Süden. Das Zentrum des Stadtkreises wird von der Eulach durchflossen, die in Wülflingen in die Töss mündet. Der tiefste Punkt Winterthurs liegt in Wülflingen an der Grenze zu Pfungen unterhalb der Kläranlage Hard auf 393 m. ü. M.
