Driving in Germany: Bundesstraße B10 from Göppingen to Geislingen an der Steige

In this video you can drive along on the B10 urban expressway from the city of Göppingen to the city of Geislingen an der Steige. The B10 East of Stuttgart doesn't only serve many of the nearby cities, it's also an important through-route to Ulm and for many a viable alternative to the Autobahn A8 Albaufstieg.

But just like the A8 at the Albaufstieg, a notorious bottleneck and one of the most scenic Autobahns in Germany, the B10 running in parallel is just as much a bottleneck. Right after the exit to the B466 in the direction of Heidenheim, the B10 turns into a single lane expressway going through a few towns and cities.

The amount of traffic has been a problem for decades now and on the day that I filmed it's no exception, which is why I fast-forwarded the video even more at some point. In many of the towns on the way you see signs against the B10 or for a B10 bypass of the town. The geography makes it difficult though, especially after Geislingen there is some challenging incline much like the A8 Albaufstieg. I hope you find this video interesting. Rater Hotel Review - Kirchheim, Germany

It claims to be a 4 Start hotel but had no frills. All in al, we felt over charged.

The Ipf Mountain, Bopfingen / Ipf Bopfingen / Celtic Ancient Fort Site in South Germany

The Ipf is a famous table mountain located near Bopfingen City in Ostalb District, Baden-Württemberg, South Germany. This is a video of one of the rare sites in Europe where the human civilisation has thrived right since the Bronze Age. The Ipf Mountain had been home to mankind in one form or the other right since the Bronze Age, right through to the Iron Age where it was settled by different tribes from this region. Later in the 6th Century B. C. it was a site of the Celtic Civilisation's strategic fort which would controll the trade and commerce in this South German area. The excavations of this site in the recent past has led to stunning revelations with all these findings placed in the City Museums of Bopfingen, Nördlingen and Aalen. The Ipf Mountain has become, due to its fame a symbol for the nearby town of Bopfingen. There is a huge Festival held every year with the same name Ipf Messe in this town with Great traditional celebrations.
