On a cold winter afternoon we visited the Parco del Valentino in Torino. It is a very large area on the banks of the River Po where you can find castles, museums, faculties, bars and everything you need to spend a relaxing and entertaining afternoon. We went at a time when the city was being upgraded for the summer season, so we found a lot of things closed for restoration, but it is definitely worth a visit!

Turin is the capital of the Piedmont region and an important cultural, economic and business centre. It is a city full of history, with every step you take you will find a building, a castle or an arch that is part of the rich history and culture that Turin has to offer.

Nosotros fuimos en un momento en el que la ciudad está siendo mejorada para la temporada de verano, asi que encontramos muchas cosas cerradas por restauracion, pero sin dudas y a pesar de ello vale la pena visitar!

Torino es la capital de la region del Piemonte, centro importantísimo de cultura, negocios y empresas. Está llena de historia, a cada paso encontrarás un edificio, un castillo o un arco que forma parte de esa rica historia y cultura que Torino tiene para ofrecer.

2. Palazzo Madama
Turin is packed full of extravagant palaces and historical buildings and the Palazzo Madama is the second palace to be located in the Piazza Castello.

3. Mole Antonelliana
Possibly the most distinctive building in the whole of Turin, the Mole Antonelliana towers above the surrounding skyline, and its huge pointed basilica is an icon of the city.

4. Turin Egyptian Museum
This fantastic and informative museum is located between the Piazza San Carlo and the Piazza Castello in the center of Turin. The museum is fully dedicated to ancient Egyptian archaeology and history.

5. Explore the underground tunnels and cellars
Turin takes the word “dig deep” to a whole another level. Hidden below the streets of Torino is a series of chilling mysteries and legends. As you explore Underground Turin, you'll learn all about the history of the labyrinthine tunnels that burrow under the streets of the city.

6. Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista
Who ever thought a church could look this beautiful? Built on the site of three previous churches, the Duomo di Torino is a fine example of Renaissance architecture that was created in 1491.
Behind the altar of the nave is a painted reproduction of the Cappella della Sindone of Bertola, and on the inside of the façade, you can see a copy of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper” made by Luigi Cagna in 1835. It was the only place to hang the more than 900-kilogram canvas.

For all things cinema and movie related, this is the place to be! Located in the impressive Mole Antonelliana tower in Turin, this is one of the most visited museums in Italy due to its fantastic exhibitions and stunning building.

8. Basilica di Superga
If you climb to the heights of the Superga mountain range to the east of Turin you will find the beautiful Basilica di Superga. In such if you stand in the city Centre of Turin, you can look towards the mountain and see the Basilica perched on top.

Located on the banks of the river Po, the Parco Valentina is the second largest public park in Turin and covers an area of 500,000 m2. Created in 1856, it serves as the city's first public garden and has gone from strength to strength.
