Family Simm - Mosel Wein Nachts Markt Traben Trarbach
The Mosel Wein Nachts Markt (see the play on words?) is a unique Christmas market held in Traben-Trarbach. The market is spread across 5 historic wine cellars in the town with stalls offering local handcrafts, food and of course the famous local wines.
There is a single charge of 5 euro to access the markets. A wrist band can be bought at the entrance to each of the cellars or from a sales point on the main town bridge. If you are a local or are staying in the town or near by, this charge gives you access for the whole period of the market so you can spend as many days in them as you wish.
One thing to note is that the markets are not open everyday. It is best to check the website at the link below before travelling.

Unseren Rundgang durch Traben-Trarbach (Rheinland-Pfalz) beginnt im Stadtteil Traben. Neben Postamt und Lorettahaus schauen wir uns u.a. den Marktplatz, die Kirche und das Alte Bahnhofsgebäude an. Über die Moselbrücke mit Brückentor erreichen wir danach den Stadtteil Trarbach. Dort besuchen wir u.a. den Stadtturm mit Haus der Ikonen und das Buddha-Museum.

Journey to Traben-Trarbach, Featuring Restaurant Brücken -- Schenke
Today we ventured out to another of the wonderful villages along Germany's Moselle, the ancient town of Traben-Trarbach. As part of our On the Run series of stopovers across Europe, this historic and picturesque spot is but one of the must see attractions within the Mosel wine region. A little less touristy, and a mysteriously fascinating, we found a few new favorite spots for day excursions.
On a previous visit to Traben -- Trarbach in the Summer, we missed altogether what has to be the coolest restaurant and stopover in any of the Mosel villages, Brücken -- Schenke -- the most quaint, cool, and friendly establishment we've seen in some time. This weingalerie, cafe, and restaurant sits above the entry gate into Trarbach, at the end of the bridge from Traben.
