Waldsassen Basilica | Skeleton Church

In this video we go to Waldsassen to see the Basilica Waldsassen. This church is known for its impressive decor and the skeletons of 10 christian martyrs that adorn the inside. Also on the grounds in an active abbey with the most beautiful library I have ever seen.

Today we're sharing 10 hiking spots located in Northern Bavaria, using Grafenwoehr as a starting point. Everything is within about a 1 hour drive -- perfect for a day trip!

We are also sharing, to the best of our knowledge, parking information, any fees involved, and beer huts along the way. You may think it's only an Alpen thing, but there are a bunch of super low key and awesome beer huts in Franconia and the surrounding areas.

Burgruine Weissenstein (Steinwald) Germany [Day Trip in Fränkische Schweiz in Northern Bavaria]

A short hike to the castle ruins of Weissenstein. These are located in Waldershof / Steinwald, NOT to be confused with Weissenstein Castle in Regen. This location offers a great view of the surrounding countryside and is a short drive from Grafenwoehr.
