Travel to Mažeikiai - remote Samogitian land in Lithuania | Travel guide
Welcome Mažeikiai district, Lithuania, one of the furthest places to go to from Vilnius. It's worth getting there, as the district has plenty of interesting sights to see: the only in Lithuania Gramophone museum, authentic XIX century pharmacy - museum, the home of the pioneer of Lithuanian aviation, the beautiful Renavas manor house and much more!
Mažeikiai district really impressed me, even though it was so far to drive to. It took me 2 days to see all the sights and I think it would be a great addition to a trip through Samogitia, combined with the nearby Akmenė district or Samogitia capital Telšiai.

Istorija Kaimo laukuose rastas akmeninis kirvis. Barstyčių įžymybė – didžiausias Lietuvoje Barstyčių akmuo, esantis netoliese – Puokės kaime. [2]
1558 m. minimas 18 valakų Barstyčių kaimas, XVII a. dokumentuose – Barstyčių dvaras ir kaimas. 1649–1773 m. priklausė Pašiaušės jėzuitų kolegijai, po to bajorams Jagminams. Tverų tijūnas Tadas Jagminas 1788 m. pastatydino bažnyčią, todėl XVIII a. pabaigoje – XIX a. pradžioje kaimas vadinosi Jagminpoliu. 1841 m. buvo 16 kiemų Barstyčių miestelis ir 15 kiemų kaimas. XIX a. antroje pusėje veikė parapinė, 1908 m. įsteigta valdinė pradžios mokykla, 1949–1958 m. septynmetė, aštuonmetė, nuo 1958 m. Barstyčių vidurinė mokykla. 1948 m. įsteigti vaikų globos namai, darželis, biblioteka, 1956 m. – kultūros namai.
Nuo 1908 m. parapijos centras. XX a. trečiame ir ketvirtame dešimtmetyje Barstyčių šaulių būrys pasižymėjo kultūrine veikla. Per nacių okupaciją 1941 m. buvo išžudyta 13 miestelio šeimų. 1941 m. čia ėmė kurtis partizanų būrys. Po Antrojo pasaulinio karo Barstyčių apylinkėse prieš TSRS okupacinį režimą kovojo Alkos rinktinės partizanai. 1947–1950 m. valsčiaus, vėliau – apylinkės centras, kolūkio centrinė gyvenvietė. 1990 m. spalio mėn. atstatytas 1936 m. pastatytas ir 1974 m. nugriautas pavasarininkų paminklas. Travel guide to provincial Kelmė district and its surprises
Hi, here's another municipality video - Kelmė district located in the west of Lithuania in the lands of Samogitia.
It was my first time visiting it and it genuinely surprised me, how beautiful and taken care of the district is. The locals were so friendly and the amount of local sights were also just too many - I enjoyed every bit of the trip.
Tytuvėnai Regional Park alone is worth staying the night to enjoy its surroundings well.

Klaipeda - What to Do in Klaipeda, Lithuania
What to see and do in Klaipeda, Lithuania. From the curonian spit and the sand dunes by Nida to the Hill of Witches at Juodkrante to the nightlife and beaches right nearby, Klaipeda, Lithuania is a nice town to visit when you are passing through Lithuania. The best time to visit is in Summer in July during the Sea Festival when the city has so many things on offer for tourists and visitors. There is even an international English speaking university LCC, Lithuanian Christian College so English is spoken quite often around town. Traveling to furthest corner of Lithuania | Skuodas
We're back in Samogitia region again - Skuodas was a fun place to visit for someone who is stones enthusiast 😁 While quite a small and remote place, a trip to Skuodas was worthwhile for Mosėdis and Vaclovas Intas stone museum, Apuolė Senoji Įpiltis hill forts and Barstyčiai stone - all of these can be easily visited in one day when passing by in the region.

Telšiai – miestas šiaurės vakarų Lietuvoje, Žemaičių aukštumoje, prie Masčio ežero ir Durbinio upelio, 69 km į vakarus nuo Šiaulių. Telšių apskrities ir Telšių rajono savivaldybės centras, Žemaitijos sostinė. Miesto centrinė dalis yra urbanistikos paminklas.
Miesto riboženklis žemaičių tarme Veikia rajono savivaldybė, 3 pašto skyriai, rajono centrinė ligoninė, vaikų globos namai, Vilniaus dailės akademijos Telšių dailės fakultetas, kunigų seminarija, Žemaitės dramos teatras, krašto muziejus „Alka“ (nuo 1932 m.), Žemaitijos kaimo muziejus, Kultūros parkas (Masčio ežero rytiniame krante), unikali A. Jonušo žemaitiškai-japoniška sodyba. Tarp geležinkelio ir Palangos-Šiaulių plento plyti miesto pramoninis rajonas.
Žvėrinčius įkurtas 1996 m. Ubiškės girininkijoje siekiant supažindinti visuomenę su laukinių gyvūnų gyvenimu. Čia yra įrengtas 14,7 ha ploto miško aptvaras šernams, danieliams ir muflonams bei aptvertas 2,4 ha ploto miško sklypas vilkams. Žvėrinčiuje gyvena apuokai, lūšys, muflonai, danieliai, meškinas Timas. Lankytojų patogumui stebėti laukinių gyvūnų gyvenimą pastatytos dvi apžvalgos aikštelės bei pavėsinė, regykla, įrengta žaidimų aikštelė vaikams, pastatytas ąžuolas su inkilais ir stendas su labiausiai Lietuvoje paplitusių žvėrių ir paukščių aprašymais.
Šatrija – piliakalnis Žemaitijoje, Telšių rajono savivaldybės teritorijoje, prie Pašatrijos kaimo, Luokės seniūnija. Pasiekiamas iš kelio Luokė – Gaulėnai 2,7 km į pietryčius nuo Luokės miestelio Žylakiuose (stovi meninė rodyklė) pasukus į dešinę pietų kryptimi, už 1,5 km yra kelio gale. Apylinkėse įsteigtas Šatrijos kraštovaizdžio draustinis (813 ha).
Archeologinėje nomenklatūroje žinomas kaip Pašatrijos piliakalnis su gyvenviete, arba Luokės piliakalnis (registro kodas iki 2005 m. balandžio 19 d. A1393K, Lietuvos Respublikos kultūros paminklų sąrašo Nr. AR1199).
Germantas – ežeras vakarų Lietuvoje, Telšių rajone, apie 6 km į vakarus nuo Telšių. Ilgis iš vakarų į rytus 1,9 km, plotis iki 1,55 km. Altitudė 159,4 m. Giliausia vieta siekia 12,8 m. Kranto linija labai vingiuota nemažai įlankų. Rytuose ir pietuose krantai aukšti, su terasomis, šiauriniai ir vakariniai krantai žemesni, vietomis supelkėję. Ežerą supa Lieplaukės miškai. Yra dvi nedidelės salelės. Atabradas padengtas smėliu, pelkėtuose krantuose – durpėmis. 1–2 m gylio atabrado ruože būdinga gėlavandenė klintis. Auga negausios nendrės, dumbliai. Ežero dugnas padengtas dumblingu sapropeliu ir dumblu. Į Germantą iš Gelžio ežero įteka Gelžupis, pietuose išteka Lušinės intakas Germantupis, o vakaruose išteka Stujų upalis. Aplink Germantą įsikūrę Pagermančio, Kuodžių kaimai. Populiari telšiškių poilsio vieta: rytiniame krante yra įrengti 2 paplūdimiai, pasodintas Lietuvos tūkstantmečio ąžuolynas, prieina kelias Nr.4615. 1960 m. ežeras su apylinkėmis paskelbtas Germanto kraštovaizdžio draustiniu.
