Exploring Suchitoto - El Salvador Travel Vlog | Indian Couple in Latin America
Suchitoto is a small pretty town located just 50 kilometers from San Salvador. While many travelers go for a day trip, we spent a few days in the heart of Suchitoto.
The Central Plaza with the 16th-century Santa Lucia church, surrounded by restaurants, stores, cobblestone streets, and colorful buildings, form the town's highlights. Suchitoto is a visual treat and walking down any random lane takes you back centuries with the well-preserved architecture.
We also visited the Los Tercios waterfalls, 15 minutes walk from Suchitoto. It is a seasonal waterfall, so we didn't see water as it was the dry season. However, the rock formation of the waterfall was remarkable. Thousands of hexagonal-shaped rocks are naturally stacked together to form the waterfall bed. As we hiked to the top of the waterfall, there is a viewpoint that has panoramic views of Lake Suchitlan.

Suchitoto is a picturesque mountain town along the Ruta Artesanal lined with cobblestone streets and colonial architecture that are brimming with pupuserias, art galleries, and cafes — and it's El Salvador's cultural capital. Suchitoto was largely deserted during the country's Civil War from 1980 to 1992, but is today flourishing. The chalk white Santa Lucía church — with its impressive ionic columns — overlooks Suchitoto's central square, and nearby you'll find places like Teatro Alejandro Cotto (“Theater of Ruins”) and Centro Arte Para La Paz (“Art Center for Peace”), both bastions of creativity — especially during February, when the town's month-long International Festival of Arts and Culture occurs. .

Sightseeing San Salvador & Suchitoto in El Salvador
This video is about San Salvador, Suchitoto and the adventures around it. El Salvador is the smallest country in central America, so no distance is far. The capital San Salvador is definitely worth a visit. There is usually something going on in the city centre. The plaza is filled with people coming together to dance and play music or just sit together. The botanical garden in town is small but cute. The 500m deep crater of San Salvador Volcano is also a nice visit. On the way back, the café San Cristóbal' is a good place to go. My absolute favourite place, the excellent view and the delicious pupusas, as well as the home-grown café is highly recommended. Pupusa is one of the nations dishes. It's a pocket filled with cheese and extras of your choice, such as meat or beans.
My buddy Alberto also introduces other local dishes.
In a day trip I explore the area of Suchitoto and meet more ingenious people while hitchhiking. Suchitoto is an old town in the north of the country. The quiet little village makes a welcoming and chamat impression.

1) Llegamos a la plaza central
2) Le dimos la vuelta a la cuadra y llegamos a la Casa de la Abuela,
3) Entramos en la parroquía Santa Lucía
4) Visitamos el Museo Alejandro Cotto
5) Visita al puerto San Juan
Qué mas puedes hacer:

- Visitar el Salto los Tercios
- Caminata al volcán de Guazapa y más!
