Great Kei River Ferry, Into the Wild Coast
The proximity of East London to some of the beautiful parts of the Eastern Cape offers convenience and adventure just a stone throw away. This video was shot when we crossed one of the only two pontoon vehicle-crossing ferries in operation in South Africa.
The five minute crossing on the Ferry is an adventure on its own. Just 90 minutes away from East London, the Kei Mouth crossing offers day and overnight adventures into the Wild Coast at the assurance of knowing you are not far from home.

Camping In South Africa @ Wattle Chop, Stutterheim / with Acacia & Michael
This weekends camping getaway landed us in a beautiful spot situated right on a dam at a campsite called Wattle Chop, on the Stutterheim hillside. We arrived to overcast conditions and even had some rainfall our first afternoon , but woke up to the sun shining over our campsite through the weeping willow trees all around the dam. With absolutely no wind we basically had a double view from the reflections over the dam in every angle. So of course we started our day off with coffee on the fire. Then grabbed fishing rods hoping to catch. We even managed to find some 4x4 tracks around the area to scout around more. Did I forget to mention that there’s a zip line on the premises as well as conoes to float around the dam at Wattle Chop campsite & self catering cabins.
We had such a peaceful time and can’t wait for the next adventure ! If you liked this video or any of our others please give it a like and subscribe to follow our journeys.

This channel documents my adventures travelling around Southern Africa in my caravan.
Two years ago I left the big city of Cape Town, towing my caravan and a speedboat with my lovely cat for company, never to return to the big city. I'll be documenting my adventure and showing caravan parks that I spend time at in Southern Africa as well as some other subjects of interest to caravanners and adventurers in general.
This channel takes an in-depth look at smaller and off-grid living in Southern Africa. The tiny house movement is small in Southern Africa, but is growing exponentially very quickly.
Southern Africa is vast and has areas of great beauty with weather that is unique and superb. These videos will interest adventurers of all ages.
There are still ways to live in this world that allow one to wander the world, as John Wayne used to do in the old western movies. As I get older I have the choice to sit in four walls, watch TV and get grumpy, or go off and have an adventure in my old age. I've decided to choose the adventure and I'm surprised at what I've found. I'm seeing some great places and having some fantastic experiences.
Hopefully these videos will bring out your inner 'John Wayne'.

It's a large park with forests of tall trees that make one feel as if you're in a huge park somewhere in Europe. It also has several fruit orchards that have caravan sites amongst the fruit trees.
The park has a lovely feel to it which is made special by the Berg river running along the one side.
I spent 10 days here just after I 'left home' in Cape Town. I sold everything, bought the caravan and took 2 months to re-do the interior to my liking.
Then I took off, towing my speedboat and spent 10 days at this caravan park in the last month of winter to make sure that everything worked.
Fortunately I did that and was still close to Cape Town as I'd left my 2 gas bottles at the house and could go back to get them.
Gas bottles are pricey.
Then I started my adventure into the Great Southern Africa.
I've filmed the caravan parks that I've stayed in along the way, all of which are spectacular and I've committed to start editing the videos from tomorrow.
When the videos are done I'll load them to this site, and will continue to feature every caravan park that I stay at.
