What's the Largest Urban Center in Ohio? It's Not So Straightforward
What's the largest city in Ohio is not a simple question to answer. This video is an analysis of each of three most populous urban clusters in Ohio (Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati) to determine which of the three is the largest. Quick History of McConnells Mill and Covered Bridge shot in the fall
McConnell's Mill
Daniel Kennedy opened a gristmill on Slippery Rock Creek in 1852. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1868 and was quickly rebuilt. Ownership of the mill was transferred to the park's namesake, Thomas McConnell in 1875. He replaced the waterwheel with water turbines and the grindstones with rolling mills. This made McConnell's Mill one of the first rolling mills in the country. The mill processed oats, corn, buckwheat and wheat until it was closed in 1928. Ownership of the land transferred from Thomas H. Hartman to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy in 1942. The conservancy then transferred the land to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1957 when McConnells Mill State Park was formally dedicated.
Covered bridge

View of the covered bridge in McConnells Mill State Park from a walkway near the mill itself.
The McConnell's Mill Covered Bridge was built in 1874. It is a Howe truss bridge. One of two covered bridges in Lawrence County, it is owned by the county, but is located on state land at McConnells Mill State Park. The bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

💦 Quakertown Falls
📍Quaker Falls Recreation Area (on Google Maps)
🥾 Minimal hiking! From parking lot, just hike down to the falls following the small trail! It’s super short (but a bit steep & slippery).
👙 Bring a swim suit because this one has an amazing swimming hole!
😮 You can also walk behind this gem!
💦Springfield Falls
📍Off of Perry Hwy and a short distance from Volant (it’s on Google maps).
🥾 0.5 mile (RT). Note: parking is very limited here! Super small parking area on side of the road.
🍺 Literally 2 minutes away from the original Rachel’s Roadhouse - which makes for a fantastic lunch break or dinner! Great food and drink selection!
💦Breakneck Falls
📍McConnell’s Mill State Park
🗺️Park above Eckert Bridge; walk down to the bridge; and the second you see the bridge.. there’s a sign to your left for the falls and trail!
🥾 I’m not sure on the exact distance (can’t find it on AllTrails nor have I recorded it), but it’s no more than a mile and easy!
💦Hell’s Hollow Falls
📍Opposite side of McConnell’s Mill State Park from Breakneck Falls
🗺️ Type “Hell’s Hollow Falls” into Google maps and it’ll take you to the decently-sized parking lot!
🥾 1 mile (RT) and rated easy!
❓Have you been to any of these? Which one do you want to chase first??

Quaker Falls | Lawrence County, PA
In today’s outdoor adventure we will take a short drive off of Route 224 in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania to a recently established recreational area home to “Quaker Falls”.
This waterfall is easily accessible from the road but may be muddy and slippery on the way down. We decided to travel to this location on a rather rainy day but it was well worth it to experience the natural power of the falls. A tip on getting down to the bottom easily is that there is an improvised rope on the left side facing the falls. Quaker Falls is a great location to visit with the family and offers hundreds of years of history surrounding the Quaker settlements in this region. This picturesque gorge provides visitors with many photo opportunities of the falls.
Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more travel adventures coming soon to other destinations around the US.
Hopewell Furnace Trail (Struthers , Ohio)
did someone say waterfall? yesss!!! lol this trail in Struthers , Ohio is a definite hike if your looking for a trail with adventure , history and some just plain fun.. when I hiked this the first few times the trail was pretty much unmarked ( in the winter time )... it seems they updated this so it is a pretty doable trail. you get to cross yellow creek 3 times ( so plan to get your feet wet!!) unless you follow my dumb a## and then you'll cross it 4 times lol.. the old furnace is on the trail along with a swimming spot some wildlife and of course the finale of the lake Hamilton dam and waterfall. so........ bring some water , bring a friend and enjoy the outside with some good conversation and some views definitely worth remembering!!!
