10 Most Hated Towns in England

What are the most hated towns in England? No matter how good a country is, every part of it can’t be loved equally. In fact, some parts of it are bound to be hated. Even the most fanatic lover of a country will love some parts of it less than others. I have heard some people complaining about some towns in England, the home of the Queen that some people are dying to live and work in. That prompts research into the 10 most hated towns in England.
This ranking is based mainly on the comments and complaints of residents of England and visitors to those towns. But it’s not limited to that since some complaints can be completely baseless. We dig deeper in researching these 10 most hated towns in England.
10. Slough
Let’s begin with Slough, a town in Berkshire, within the historic county of Buckinghamshire. This town is 20 miles west of central London and 19 miles northeast of Reading. You will find the town in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolis around the area at the intersection of the M4.
In spite of its location, Slough according to those visitors, is a town whose streets are littered with empty takeaway and full of packets or empty beer cans. This assertion hasn’t been contradicted by even just one resident. The quality of food in the town’s restaurants appears, kind of, made for losers who’re just out to eat as much unhealthy food as they can get away with.
9. Scunthorpe
It’s not desirable to find Scunthorpe among the most hated towns in England. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to take it out of our list because the facts obviously place it there. This industrial town in the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire should normally be the pride of Lincolnshire as its main administrative center. But the town with an estimated population of 82,334 in 2016 had many things going against it.
Residents of the UK’s largest steel processing center, also known as the Industrial Garden Town, are frustrated by a lack of the liveliness and diversity in the town only known for work. However, the loudest grouse that lists Scunthorpe alongside the most hated towns in England is the indiscriminate censorship and blocking of websites for spurious reasons.

Lovely afternoon on our harbour. Yet again. Paradise. This is Sydney Harbour Australia LIVE Cam

Live video on Thursday 17/10/2024 on the world's most beautiful harbour from our camera in Balmain East looking west towards Barangaroo, Pyrmont and Anzac Bridge. Take in some of the views of Sydney from the Barangaroo development to the Inner West and the historic power station. Along the way see the ferries, party boats, the aquarium as well as some serious motor yachts and iconic wharves. The top right image is a stream to the east towards the bridge with a fixed camera in an attempt to catch the dawn skies and then the sun as it rises above the harbour.

Direct view of Barangaroo on the left to Anzac Bridge, the White Bay power station and White Bay Cruise Terminal on the right.

We claim no ownership of any music played by passing boats captured on this stream, all rights belong to the copyright owner. We also need to keep our streams short so it is possible to edit our copyright infringements when greedy studios claim an infringement because a passing boat had music that is too loud.

Funny, Weird, and Unusual Canadian Place Names | How to be Canadian, Eh?

There is an abundance of funny, weird, and unusual Canadian place names. In this video we will explore some of those as we travel across the provinces. (Please note that in the map used there are two errors - the province marked Newfoundland is actually Newfoundland Labrador which is an Atlantic province and not a maritime province, and it is Northwest Territories as opposed to the singular shown on the map. Unfortunately I had already finished production when the error was noticed)

EP 5 Allenheads to Allendale - The Grand Tour of Northumberland

18th November 2018
Join us on our walk of historic Northumberland as we continue our hike. Packed full of history and beautiful scenery. UK hiking at its best in England's least populated county.

Section 5: Allenheads to Allendale
We start our hike where we should've finished the last time; on the border between Northumberland and County Durham at Shorngate Cross. This is close to Northumberland's most southerly point. We then followed the path pass some old mine shafts into Allenheads.

Allenheads was a pleasant surprise. It was once the largest lead mining area in the North Pennines and the small village was packed full of interesting places celebrating its past history - all for FREE! We left Allenheads on the Coldblooded and Spineless Trail and made our way to the Carrier's Way. Following an old chimney flue we arrived at the old site of Dirt Pot smelt works. Then a short road walk took us to Thorn Green lime kilns, an impressive well preserved site. A bit further along the road and we left via Fanny's Hill and dropped down to Swinhope Lead Mine. Cutting through someone's garden we passed Swinhope Row lime kiln on our way to the old drover's road, The Black Way and the Isaac Tea Trail.

After visiting an old bastle site at Rowantree Stob, we took a detour from the Isaac Tea Trail to visit an impressive waterfall and lead mine at Holmslinn. Returning to Isaac Tea Trail, a chancy encounter crossing a field of bulls, and the final 2 miles in the dark, we arrived at Allendale. Sadly Neil had a family engagement so we had to skip our usual pint and dinner at the Golden Lion which serves excellent food and local beer.

Please subscribe so that you don't miss any of the next 47+ walks.

To be continued...

A typical Australian Grocery Supermarket - Coles

A typical Australian Grocery Supermarket - Coles. Coles is very famous in Australia for everyday shopping. Coles Supermarkets Australia Pty Ltd, trading as Coles, is an Australian supermarket, retail and consumer services chain, headquartered in Melbourne as part of the Coles Group. On 9 April 1914 young GJ Coles opened the first Coles store in Smith St, Collingwood, Victoria.

Immediately before the shop opened, he set down his thoughts about the task ahead. “A proprietor has to have a happy home life,” he wrote, “he has to have a contented staff; he has to have a store he would be proud of; he has to earn the respect of his fellow-men, and to do all this he must also operate a business that would be successful.”
