The five story castle, restored in 1959, was selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Castles. The castle interior has been made into a museum, and all of Okazaki City can be viewed from the observation deck at the top.

5 Early Spring Blossoms in Shizuoka
Ready for winter to be over? Can't wait until April to see Japan's famous cherry blossoms?
While much of Japan is blanketed in snow you are able to experience early spring in these sunnier regions in Shizuoka.
See the spectacular Kawazu-zakura in full bloom in the Izu Peninsula seaside town of Kawazu stay a night at one of the many traditional ryokan or enjoy an onsen with ocean views.
Stroll among the coastal daffodil fields in Shimoda, wander down the historic Perry Road and learn about the opening of Japan to the World in the 19th century.
Enjoy the contrast of the bright yellow nanohana (rapeseed blossom) against the vivid pink Kawazu-zakura and clear blue skies of Minami Izu and warm your soul with a bowl of ramen with freshly caught spiny lobster.
