In October 2024, my wife and I had gone for a baby moon trip to South Korea during the autumn season. The following series documents that trip.
Bio: I am an amateur creator that always had an interest for anything media and arts related, but as a millennial, #adulting is a lived reality. Thus, passions always have to take a back seat. But this time, I hope to actually do something about it. So, don't mind the less polished edits, my videos are hopefully meant to be easy to watch over a meal or accompanied with a snack. Which is what I personally love to do myself! :P

Today, I'm checking out a few unique places that many foreigners have never heard about. I'm starting at Sanghwawon on Jukdo Island. This secret garden island is calm and relaxing.
I'm then heading to Muchangpo Beach where I'm eating some yummy grilled fish, and go to a Charlie Brown cafe!

Ihwa-dong Mural Village was frequently featured in media, such as K-drama 'Encounter' and the reality show 'I Live Alone', being a popular tourist attraction in Seoul to visit year-round.
Ihwa Mural Village is located between Hyehwa Station and Dongdaemun Station, just below Naksan Park. The Seoul City Wall trail of Naksan Park naturally leads to Ihwa-dong Mural Village, and unique cafes and picturesque shops line up along the alleyway.

Insa-dong Street stretches over 700 meters between the Anguk-dong Rotary and Tapgol Park (Jongno 2-ga). During the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), the street was dominated by Dohwawon, a place of study for painters. The area is still a center for the arts, and painters, craftsmen, and art lovers continue to set up shop along the narrow alleys, making it a unique place full of folk crafts, pottery, and paintings. The street offers rich opportunities for visitors to experience Korean traditional culture and arts. Various art events and festivals are regularly held along the street.
From Expensive Ceramics to Daily Use Items
Approximately 40% of Korean crafts are exchanged in Insa-dong. Some products even trace back to the Three Kingdom Period (57 B.C.-668 A.D.) The most popular items are Korean ceramics ranging in price from hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars. Other items sold in Insa-dong include earthenware, calligraphy materials, antique furniture, hanji, hanbok, teas, souvenirs, and cute accessories. Nearby shops include cafés, restaurants, ateliers, and galleries specializing in a diversity of items.
Vehicles are not permitted on the street during weekends, making it more amenable for visitors to look around. Insa-dong is also close to other tourist attractions such as Cheonggyecheon Stream and Gyeongbokgung (the royal palace during the Joseon Dynasty).

The scene of the theme park where magician Lee Eul lived was filmed in Yongma Land which doesn't run any more.
In the scene of Eul and Ah-yi's riding merry-go-round and going up to sky, Lotte World Tower appeared.
The scene of the academy where Il-deung studied was filmed in Mokdong, Seoul

Saetgang Pedestrian Bridge was featured in several K-dramas due to its structural beauty.
In episode 5 of Again My Life, the scene of Hui-u's walking over a bridge at night was filmed in Saetgang Bridge.
In episode 6 of Vincenzo, Vincenzo Cassano came to this bridge after visiting his mother at Cheongpa Women’s Correctional Institution.
Saetgang Pedestrian Bridge is Seoul’s first asymmetric cable-stayed pedestrian bridge built connecting Singil-dong with Yeouido-dong. The bridge is accessible both for pedestrians and bikers.

그리팅맨(Greeting man)
유영호 작가가 만든 조각상으로 군남면 옥계리 옥녀봉에 북측을 향하여 그리팅맨을 세웠고, 북측 봉우리에도 남쪽을 향한 그리팅맨을 세워 서로 바라보며 인사를 나누는 형상을 구상한 작품입니다.
연천 당포성
연천군 미산면 동이리 780에 있는 고구려성으로 임진강과 당개나루터로 흘러드는 하천이 형성한 삼각형 모양의 절벽위에 세워졌다. 넓은 평지인 동편에 동벽을 설치하여 성내로 들어오는 차단하는 방어시설이 남아있습니다.
Enjoy the Imjingang Dapsari Festival (2024.09.01~10.31). It is a hidden attraction in the northern part of the metropolitan area where about 170,000 people visit annually, planting beautiful flowers on the abandoned land in the Gunnam Dam tree area near the DMZ, a clean area and where nature is still alive.
Yeoncheon Jaein Falls does not currently have an abundant amount of water, but the cosmos and yellow cosmos are in full bloom, creating a spectacular sight along with the surrounding scenery. This is a very famous place in the Hantangang River basin, and many tourists always visit it as the first priority. It is highly recommended for those who want to feel the real fall this fall.
Greeting Man
This sculpture by artist Yoo Young-ho is a work of art in which a Greeting Man was erected on Oknyeo Peak in Okgye-ri, Gunnam-myeon, facing north, and a Greeting Man was erected on the northern peak, facing south, to create a figure of greeting each other.
Yeoncheon Dangpo Castle
This Goguryeo castle is located at 780 Dongi-ri, Misan-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, and was built on a triangular cliff formed by the Imjin River and the river flowing into Danggae Ferry. There are still defensive facilities remaining on the east side, which is a wide flat area, to block the entrance to the castle.

6-HOUR subway trip to the northernmost metro station in Korea
Today, I tried the whole line of the subway line 1! It was a long journey of exactly 6 hours. Starting at Sinchang Station, along Janghang, Gyeongbu, and Gyeongwon line, I visited some stations and enjoyed them. I tried both the old and new subway cars of Korail and reviewed them, too. Finally, I visited Yeoncheon Station, the northernmost metro station in Korea. The tracks were reconstructed and electrified. Yeoncheon is famous for a Palentholic site as well, which is of great importance in Asian prehistory. Get on board with me and follow the long but exciting journey!

[4K] My Perfect Stranger & My Liberation Notes Filming Location : Walking on Jeongdong-gil in Seoul
In episode 11 of My Perfect Stranger, Yoon-young and Soon-ae walk together along Jeongdong Street and go to a publishing company to uncover Go Mi-suk's lie.
On his bicycle, Yeom Chang-hee turns into this street from Deoksugung Palace Stonewall Walkway to bring back a book to the library at this street in episode 15 of My Liberation Notes.
Ji Yoon-su cycles down this tree-lined street en route to meeting Baek Seung-yoo to exchange their bags in episode 1 of Melancholia.
Jeongdong-gil begins at the main gate of Deoksugung and stretches for 1 km until Sinmun-ro. Ewha Girls' High School, Changdeok Girls' Middle School and the original building of Paichai Hakdang are also located on Jeongdong-gil. The first Protestant church in Korea, Jeongdong Church, and one of Korea's leading theaters, National Jeongdong Theater of Korea are all located on Jeongdong-gil as well.

Suwon to Seoul Ko-Rail Train after visiting Suwon HWASEONG
Today, we visited Suwon HWASEONG! Earlier in the day, we took a hike around the city walls, and it was a very good walk. Now, we head back to Seoul Central. Instead of the subway, we decided to try Ko-Rail, which would halve the journey time. Buying the tickets at Suwon station was quite easy, the counter staff understood English and could tell me what time the trains were coming.

Cherry Blossom Family Photo Shoot at Pyeongtaek University, South Korea
We went back to Pyeongtaek University to do a family photo shoot with the beautiful cherry blossoms. We are so excited for spring and the weather was really comfortable to be outside. There are many very large trees that were in full bloom, and the garden was probably our favorite photo spot. Lots of other people were there doing the same thing we were doing, and it was fun to watch the kids run around and play.
This is very a great way to spend an afternoon with the family.

청파동과 공덕동에 걸쳐있습니다.
효창공원은 원래 5살의 어린나이에 죽은 정조의 첫째아들 문효세자와
몇달 후 죽은 그의 어머니 의빈 성씨의 무덤으로 효창원이었으나,
두 무덤은 서삼릉으로 강제 이장 당하고, 이름도 효창공원이 되었습니다.

Today, I walked through Hyochang Park in the evening.
Hyochang Park spans Cheongpa-dong and Gongdeok-dong.
Hyochang Park was originally Hyochangwon as the tomb of King Jeongjo's first son, Prince Moon Hyo, who died at the age of five, and his mother Uibin Sung, who died a few months later.
Both tombs were forcibly relocated to Seosamneung, and their name became Hyochang Park.
Currently, there was tombs of Kim Gu, Lee Dong-nyeong, the head of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, Cho Seong-hwan, the chief of the military, and Chai-seok, the chief of the secretary, and the tombs of Bong-gil Lee, Bong-chang Lee, and Jeong-ki Baek.

I visited Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, in Jeju Island, South Korea in last summer. This extinct tuff cone was formed by hydrovolcanic eruptions upon a shallow seabed about 5 thousand years ago. It is one of Jeju Island's most impressive sights and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Even though it was cloudy and very windy, the scenery of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak at a distance was awesome.
