Walking in Botswana 🇧🇼 | Selebi-Phikwe

What is Selebi-Phikwe like?
Selebi-Phikwe is a small mining town in Central East of Botswana. The town has seen devastating economic repercussions when the Mine closed in 2006 making ~5000 people unemployed.
There is hope of life as a new company as bought some assets of the Mine and hope to resume production in the near future.

I was born and raised in this town. My family still lives here so the town and its people are dear to me.

Botswana: Where to go and what to see

Virtually synonymous with the Kalahari Desert, much of Botswana is flat and dry, covered in thorny acacia trees and home to enormous salt pans and rolling grasslands. Rainfall is highest in northern Botswana where vast open woodlands dominate the environment and several globally important wetland habitats - the Okavango Delta, the Linyanti Swamps and the Chobe River - support huge numbers of animals.
Botswana is a haven for wildlife and several of its protected areas - the Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve in particular - rank among Africa's best game-viewing destinations. Botswana's Kalahari parks are some of the wildest and least developed in the region but offer excellent opportunities for game viewing, especially in early summer when several local zebra migrations occur.

Botswana's wildlife highlights include Africa's greatest concentrations of elephant, fantastic bird watching, abundant predators and the continent's largest population of African wild dog. Botswana's lions are particularly famous for their size and their ability to prey on large animals such as hippo, buffalo and even young elephants.

The evergreen jewel of the Okavango Delta is at the heart of Botswana’s safari attractions, flanked in the east by the rolling savannah of the Savuti and the teeming elephant paradise of the Chobe.

Africa - Botswana

Is Africa one of your dream travel destinations? If so, Botswana should be on your list.

Seeing the animals from the water offers a different amazing vantage point. I did a land and boat safari in Chobe National Park when I was in Botswana and the highlight was seeing so many elephants playing in the water on the boat safari. The Okavango Delta is a great spot for a safari in a mokoro which is an adventure! Botswana can be paired with Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia and or South Africa.

Keep in mind, it is best to plan at least a year in advance for Africa as many of the top lodges fill up quickly as they are limited in space. When you are ready, I am excited to plan your African adventure! Email Stefany at: stefany@largaytravel.com and or info@dmctraveltailor.com.

With passion and adventure,

Botswana presentation

We learn about how Botswana became a nation and how three tribal chiefs came to London to fight for their country. Also, the true-life love story that inspired the 2016 film A United Kingdom about the heir to the country's throne who was willing to give up everything for the white woman he loved and how he fought racial issues to become the first president of his country. Also, about Botswana's wildlife protection programs and the diamond mines of the country. Very interesting presentation.

THIS WHAT MAKES PRETORIA CITY UNIQUE - PEOPLE PEACEFULLY WALK SHARING PATHWAY SA 🇿🇦(crazy rainy day)

What makes Pretoria City in SouthAfrica unique?good question, check this video.People walk in a very organised manner doesn't matter how crowded.Thats respect to one another amongst them. I observed the pattern in which they walk and communicate when crossing each other. That impressed me. At 1:20 minutes mark, i was talking to the camera when i said she is walking slow she heard me🙆‍♀️!!was embarrassed when she simply moved sideways to allow me pass. I had no right, this path was so narrow and crowded, i must have had patience and followed behind her until clear path is vacant. These are Pretorians, well mannered and smart people mentally and physically. Above all, Pretoria City is clean. Dont get me wrong, this is my own experience and observations here in Pretoria SouthAfrica Yours might differ, leave a comment down below what u think of Pretoria City SouthAfrica.#pretoria #southafrica #myafrica
