सागर, मध्य प्रदेश का एक संभाग है। सागर जिला भारत देश का हृदय जिला कहलाता है। सागर जिले मे NH44 पर रानगिर तिराहा से कर्क रेखा (23°3') गुजरती हैं। सागर संभाग में कुल छः जिले हैं, जिनमें से सागर भी एक है। अन्य पाँच जिले दमोह, छतरपुर, पन्ना, टीकमगढ़ और निवाड़ी हैं। सागर में प्रदेश का सबसे पुराना विश्वविद्यालय डॉ. सर हरिसिंह गौर विश्वविद्यालय है, जो अब केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय भी है।
सागर का इतिहास सन् 1660 से आरंभ होता है। जब ऊदनशाह ने तालाब के किनारे स्थित वर्तमान किले के स्थान पर एक छोटे किले का निर्माण करवा कर उस के पास परकोटा नाम का गांव बसाया था। यह भी समझा जाता है कि इसका नाम सागर उस विशाल सरोवर के कारण पड़ाए जिसके किनारे नगर स्थित है। विंध्य पर्वत श्रृंखला के बीच स्थित यह जिला पुराने समय से ही मध्य भारत का एक महत्वपूर्ण केंद्र रहा है। सागर में घूमने की जगह | Sagar Famous tourist Places | Rahatgarh Fort & Waterfall | Travels Talk

GADPAHRA FORT - SAGAR, M.P | The fort where monkeys rule | Haunted fort of Sagar, Madhya Pradesh
This video is based on Garpehra fort which is 10 kilometeres away from the city of Sagar (Saugor) in Madhya Pradesh.
Garhpada or Garpehra is also called Old Sagar, which was the Capital of Dangi State. It is located at a distance of about 10 km from the sea on the Jhansi road. Its ancient form is believed to be from the time of Gond ruler Sangram Singh. At that time, Garhpada was a stronghold, with 360 wheels. Later Dangi Rajputs won this part and got their kingdom together.
There are still some historical relics of Garh Pahra. The ruins of the fort built on a low altitude can still be easily reached. There are also remains of summer residence known as Shish Mahal of Dighi rulers. It is related to King Jai Singh. It is believed that Raja Jaysingh lived in it two hundred years ago.
Travel tips : - Stay away from monkeys and be alert - Take sticks with you just for self defence - You can reach the highest point of the fort by finding staircases but be carefull - Girls and boys are not allowed to enter alone even in groups. (For known reasons) - Do visit the temple which is on the other side of the fort
Hanuman temple is a proven area on top of the mountain. The ladder that goes to the Hanuman temple is seen from a distance, the edges of the stairs are painted white and saffron. Once you are under the stairs, you can see the Hanuman temple directly. To reach the temple you have to climb four hundred fifty steps ladder. As you climb the ladder, you will listen to the devotees singing Hanuman Chalisa. On the edges of the stairs, you will see a good paddoe forest. Wind and Hanuman Chalisa will give great peace to your mind. The temple is in a corner in front of the old fort. The temple is not a big structure; It's just simple, but there is a very large room and there is a dome on the cell. There is a long verandah that takes you to this room. The dome at the top corresponds to a Mughal architecture. You can see the saffron triangle flags above the four corners of the temple and the dome.
Once inside the temple you will feel the presence of God and your inner holiness. Lord Hanuman himself is revealed. The statue of Lord Hanuman has been pasted with Saffron and Vaak. The statue of Lord Hanuman is six feet tall. Lord Hanuman's right hand appears above his head and blesses you. Lord Hanuman is appearing in front of his devotees with his open eyes. Lord Hanuman's eyes are showing compassion to his devotees and are giving them complete blessings. Once you come in front of the idol, you can realize the blessings given by God. There is a general belief that, when expressing their wishes to Shri Hanuman, no one will return to his desire without fulfilling his desire.
During the month of Ashad, festival and fair are held on the festival month. On Tuesday, there is a huge crowd for visions. A old fort can be seen behind the temple. Sheesh Mahal [Glass House / Palace] can be seen on some distance path. Sheesh Mahal is believed to have been built during the Dagy rulers. If you take a step down the mountain from here, then you will come to Ankanta Devi temple. Since the presence of Hanuman, there are many monkeys around the temple and the fort; On rare occasions, monkeys have taken Prasad from the devotees otherwise they take what they are given.
