Tiene forma de media concha, ubicada en un entorno semiurbano y limitada, en su margen izquierda, por la Punta de Elmo o Punta do Cavicastro y, en su margen derecha, por la Punta de Paxariñas. Se trata de una playa de arena blanca y fina, ventosa y con oleaje moderado.

Faro de Cabo Home lighthouse, one of the highest in Galicia. On the cliffs of Donón in Cangas do Morrazo, over 150 metres high and against which the sea pounds furiously on a coastal area called the Costa da Vela. The lighthouse was built in 1853. The tower is 17 metres high and is situated 143 metres above sea level. The almost constant fog in winter meant that a siren was added in 1888, known as La Vaca de Fisterra or the Fisterra Cow, in order to warn sailor of the imminent danger.

Places to see in ( Galicia - Spain ) Playa A Lanzada
La Lanzada beach ( Praia da Lanzada in Galician ) is one of the most famous in Galicia ( Spain ). It is located between the touristic municipality of El Grove and the one of Sangenjo , in the western end of the Region of the Salnés . Has been awarded multiple times with the Blue Flag .
It is located on the southwest side of the isthmus that connects the peninsula of El Grove with mainland. It is located near the beginning of the estuary of Pontevedra and the north end of the isthmus bordering the mouth of the estuary of Arousa . Its north end is very close to the tourist resort of San Vicente del Mar (El Grove).
La Lanzada is a very long beach: it measures 2.5 kilometers in length, more than three if you take into account the adjacent sections of Areas Gordas and Lapa. Locally they give 3 names to their sections:
Areas Gordas, beach of Lapa and La Lanzada beach.
It is one of the best known beaches in the Galician community. During the summer many tourists come to visit. It is surrounded by a beautiful natural environment protected from dunes belonging to the Natura 2000 Network . Currently the dune area is a protected ecosystem.
In this beach sports are practiced like surf and windsurf , since it has a great swell, since it is not located in any estuary, to open sea. Kitesurfing is also practiced , because being an open beach can become very windy. A few meters away are places of interest such as the La Lanzada Tower, the Castro de la Lanzada and the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Lanzada .
