A Visit to TOLUCA, Estado de Mexico
In this episode, we visit the capital city of the State of Mexico, Toluca de Lerdo, or just Toluca. Toluca gets a bad rap in CDMX, but we think it's somewhat unfair. Being so close in proximity to Mexico City, this little big city naturally suffers by comparison to its cosmopolitan neighbor to the east, but it offers a very different experience. Toluca is nestled in a mountainous pine forest and is much colder than most of Mexico, being the highest altitude capital city in North America.
We visit the Cosmovitral Jardín Botánico de Toluca, the Catedral de Toluca, and several other attractions.

🇲🇽 METEPEC, ESTADO DE MÉXICO - Hola amigos! This is Part 6 of my 2020 Mexico Travel series. We've got on a local bus in Toluca and headed to Metepec, one of the many Pueblo Magicos in Mexico (magic towns).
If you're planning on traveling to Mexico for a Mexico trip in 2020, I would 100% recommend visiting a magic town. They provide an entirely new perspective of Mexico in terms of beauty, colour and authenticity, despite most things being closed due to Covid-19 in Mexico. Mexico travel is tough this year, but we're making the best of a bad situation!
In this video we'll be rediscovering Mexico's magic by marvelling at the colourful buildings, churches and history in Metepec. We also sample another dish well-known in the Toluca area - bright red pambazos! Another example of unique Mexican food! (comida Mexicana). These are similar to tortas yet coated in a red chilli sauce and fried with a filling of meat and potatoes.
We also look into the history and culture of Metepec with it's pottery trade and creation story going back to the book of Genesis with the 'Tree of Life' - which actually appeared on a Beatles' album cover!

A unos 55 Kilómetros de la ciudad de México, el #pueblomágico de #Metepec nos pareció una buena opción para visitar en domingo. Este es el pueblito mundialmente reconocido por que aquí se elaboran los famosos “árboles de la vida”.
Les recomendamos visitarlo de lunes a sábado, por si quieren probar la famosa garañona en el bar 2 de abril, ya que el día domingo se encuentra cerrada.

La Marquesa, un lugar a las afueras de la Ciudad de México con inmensas extensiones boscosas, cabañas románticas, actividades familiares y cosas deliciosas qué comer. El Parque Nacional Insurgente Miguel Hidalgo, lugar donde aconteció la Batalla del Monte de las Cruces en 1810, mejor conocido como La Marquesa es hoy uno de los puntos recreativos más buscados por los habitantes de la ciudad debido a sus impresionantes paisajes, su rica comida, pero sobre todo su atmosfera amigable y familiar donde se puede hacer desde pesca hasta lanzarse de la tirolesa o cursar circuitos en cuatrimoto. Recomendamos La Marquesa para todo aquel que quiera escapar un día o un fin de semana de la rutina y disfrutar de los paisajes boscosos y el aire tan limpio que solo se encuentra en lugares tan frondosos y mágicos como este.
