Spruce Creek Fly-In Community to New Smyrna Beach, FL: Realtime flight in a Mooney M20 4 cameras 4k
Realtime video of a flight from Spruce Creek Airport (7FL6) to New Smyrna Beach Airport (KEVB) in Florida, USA. With ATC (air traffic control) audio: Including preflight checklists, taxi, engine runup, the flight, landing, after landing and taxi after landing.
Highly upgraded Mooney M20F with 3 cameras in the cockpit and 1 camera below the wing. Produced in 4k. Video shows pilot, instrument panel, view from cockpit and view from below left wing.
Spruce Creek is the largest residential airpark in the world. 4000 feet lighted and paved runway with a private GPS approach are the main features of this private airport. It is owned by the 1500 homeowners of the Spruce Creek Fly-In. The use is restricted to the homeowners and their guests.
New Smyrna Beach airport is a public airport belonging to the city of New Smyrna Beach at the Florida East Coast. Several runways are provided for the local aircraft owners, pilots and the area flight schools.
Originally, I wanted to depart via the traffic pattern and then leave first to the west. But after takeoff and listening to the New Smyrna Beach ATIS, I changed my mind and continued straight ahead to the beach. Then I continued southbound along the shore to Ponce Inlet with the Pone Inlet lighthouse. From there I turned west to enter a left downwind for runway 7.
Shortly before lineup at Spruce Creek airport, at 11:48, an airplane without any prior radio communication and position announcements approached the threshold. In addition, there were no calls made that the airplane was clear of the runway. Also this airplane did not transmit its position via an ADS-B transponder or -transmitter. The Mooney has ADS-B in and is able to display the position of all ADS-B out equipped airplanes on the primary flight display, the IPAD and the big GPS screen. This is a rare situation, but possible. To fly low in the area of Spruce Creek, no working radio or even a transponder are required. This shows, how important it is to look and scan always very thoroughly for traffic.
The flight was done for a maintenance visit at the avionics company in New Smyrna Beach.

7 Places You CAN'T MISS in Ormond Beach, Florida
Ormond Beach, Florida has a rich heritage with deep ties to early auto racing. In fact, the first speed trials in the U.S. were held on its beaches, making the city the Birthplace of Speed. Today, there are nods to that history in establishments on Granada Boulevard along with mom and pop shops, bars and restaurants inside some of the towns architectural jewels. Today, Abby and I show you 7 Places You Can't Miss in Ormond Beach.

✈ Flying in New Smyrna and Spruce Creek | East Coast FL
I just moved to Port Orange, a little town south of Daytona and I am so thrilled to be surrounded by a large pilot community. There are small airports all along the coast that I'm excited to explore. I moved for Chiropractic school and Embry Riddle is right down the street! One of my professors recommended an instructor in Spruce Creek which is a private airfield/fly in community. This was my first flight in 5 months, so I had to knock the rust off. My landings were definitely rough, I forgot to trim for landing, and couldn't pull the yoke back enough. Overall is was a good first jump back into flying and I look forward to flying more on the East Coast of Florida!!

Spruce Creek Airpark | A Village Where Everyone Owns An Airplane
Spruce Creek Airpark | A Village Where Everyone Owns An Airplane
Will you be excited to know that there is a village where everyone owns their own plane? It is something unbelievable for people like you and us who always book flight tickets online for traveling to one place from another. But, it is completely true. Spruce Creek, in Northeast Florida USA, located some miles away from Daytona Beach, is that exclusive residential community of the world.
Airpark is where you can land with your private plane and park it in the house. Spruce Creek airpark is the most famous based in Florida, USA. There are several airparks in the world. Most of them are in USA. There are some airparks in Canada, Argentina, Brazil and Australia.
Spruce Creek, in Northeast Florida, a few miles south of Daytona Beach, is one of the most unique residential communities in the world. Known as a residential airpark or a fly-in community, Spruce Creek comprises of 5,000 residents, 1,300 homes and 700 hangars, that share a unique life in this private gated village centered around a private airfield. Instead of a garage, most houses in Spruce Creek have attached hangar, and the driveway leads directly to a 4,000-by-150-foot runway with GPS approach. There is an 18-hole golf course, several flying clubs, rental aircraft and flight training, and 24-hour patrolled security. For those whose lives revolve around airplanes, Spruce Creek is a paradise.
The Spruce Creek airpark community is built around its private airport – Airport Identifier 7FL6. The airport’s asphalt runway is 4,000 feet long, and the maximum weight of aircraft operating on it is 30,000 pounds. Guest parking is available for visitors, free day tie down, overnight $10 per night. Interested families can join Spruce Creek Flying Club for just $10 per year.
Real estate in Spruce Creek remains desired not only because of the Spruce Creek Airport (7FL6), but also thanks to the many facilities and activities available to its residents.
Residents of Spruce Creek reside in a close community and most of them are professional pilots. You can find them talking in aviation jargon. Other professionals of this location are doctors, lawyers and land speculators. No matters what profession they have, all are crazy about aviation. On every Saturday morning, they gather next to the runway and fly to one of the local airports in groups of three for having breakfast. This is a tradition that is called as Saturday Morning Gaggle by them.

Spruce Creek Private Airport | Where Everybody Owns an Airplane
Spruce Creek Private Airport | Where Everybody Owns an Airplane
Spruce Creek is the world’s largest fly-in community, which also are called airparks. Spruce Creek Airport is a private airport located in south of the central business district of Daytona Beach, in Volusia County, Florida, United States. It was originally constructed during World War II as an outlying field (OLF) to nearby Naval Air Station DeLand and NAS Daytona Beach. OLF Spruce Creek originally had four paved 4,000 foot runways and was abandoned by the U.S. Navy in 1946.
Spruce Creek Airport operates exclusively to service the residents of the Spruce Creek Community, a gated enclave and residential airpark development, which surrounds the airport on all sides with over 5,000 residents, 1,300 homes and 700 hangars, a championship golf course, country club, and 24-hour patrolling security. Fly-In residents enjoy sole access to the airport's one remaining operational runway directly from their homes. In addition to all the airplanes and golf cars, you'll see Lamborghinis, Corvettes, motorcycles of every description and even a Porsche GT2.
The Spruce Creek Airport covers an area of 1,350 acres (550 ha) which contains one asphalt paved runway (5/23) measuring 4,000 x 176 ft . For a 12-month period the airport had 25,000 general aviation aircraft operations, an average of 68 per day. There are 438 aircraft based at this airport: 67% single-engine, 31% multi-engine, 1% jet and 1% helicopter.

Flying to Spruce Creek & St. Augustine | Airport Hop in Diamond DA40
Flying into Spruce Creek was a bit of a surprise. This aviation community is bustling with airplanes and very busy. A tailwind had us overshoot the base to final turn but we ended up aborting the first landing and overflying the field for another attempt. The tailwind was still an issue on base but the landing was smooth. The taxi way to the runway was a little different. A good pre-flight planning would be to understand the taxiways as well and your runup areas. St. Augustine is a wonderful place to visit for a short trip if you are in Florida.
Video not to be used for any flight planning or lessons. But I hope you can get a visual of the airport areas.
