Il est géré par le Centre de conservation de la biodiversité boréale inc. et se consacre à la conservation de la faune boréale. Le zoo a été fondé en 1960 comme un zoo traditionnel comprenant des animaux nord-américains et exotiques.On y ajoute les sentiers de la nature et six villages historiques en 1972. En 2001, le Centre de conservation de la biodiversité boréale est fondé et l'accent est mis sur les animaux de la zone boréale ainsi que sur la recherche visant à préserver la biodiversité boréale. Il se distingue des zoos traditionnels en faisant cohabiter certaines espèces d'animaux dans des habitats. aussi semblables que possible à leurs habitats naturels. Sa superficie est de 485 ha et il compte près de 1000 animaux représentant 80 espèces. La visite des sentiers de la nature permet au visiteur de parcourir 7 km à bord d'un petit train grillagé à travers une reconstitution des grandes régions canadiennes où les animaux sont laissés en liberté.
The Zoo sauvage de Saint-Félicien is a zoo located in Saint-Félicien. It is managed by the Centre for the Conservation of Boreal Biodiversity Inc. and is dedicated to the conservation of boreal wildlife. The zoo was founded in 1960 as a traditional zoo with North American and exotic animals, and was joined by nature trails and six historic villages in 1972. In 2001, the Centre for the Conservation of Boreal Biodiversity was founded with a focus on boreal animals and research to preserve boreal biodiversity. It distinguishes itself from traditional zoos by cohabiting certain species of animals in habitats. as similar as possible to their natural habitats. It covers 485 ha and has nearly 1000 animals representing 80 species.
