The Sabak Bernam District is a district and a parliamentary constituency in north-western Selangor, Malaysia. It covers an area of 997 square kilometers and had a population of 103,153 at the 2010 Census (excluding foreign). It is situated at the northwestern corner of Selangor. It is bordered by the state of Perak to the north, the district of Hulu Selangor to the east, the district of Kuala Selangor to the south, and the Straits of Malacca to the west. Bernam River forms its border with Perak. Towns in Sabak Bernam include Sabak, Sungai Besar and Sekinchan.
The district is mainly a rice-growing area. As such, Sabak Bernam's main economic activity is agriculture. Sabak Bernam is the westernmost district of Selangor; at 100 km from Kuala Lumpur, Sabak Bernam is the furthest district in Selangor from both Kuala Lumpur and the state capital Shah Alam.

Pekan Sungai Besar terletak di negeri Selangor Darul Ehsan dan berada dalam daerah Sabak Bernam, di antara Sekinchan dan Sabak Bernam. Kawasan ini terletak lebih kurang 120 km dari utara Kuala Lumpur. Pekan Sungai Besar merupakan pekan terbesar di daerah Sabak Bernam, Selangor.
Sungai Besar merupakan pusat bandar di daerah Sabak Bernam. Sungai Besar terletak di sebelah barat daya pusat bandar daerah Sabak Bernam. Kedudukannya ialah kira-kira 7 kilometer dari Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Batu 38, Sabak Bernam. Manakala, Sekolah Agama Menengah Tengku Ampuan Jemaah, terletak kira-kira 3 kilometer dari pekan Sungai Besar yang hanya mengambil masa selama 5 minit dengan menaiki kereta. Kawasan ini terletak lebih kurang 120 kilometer dari utara Kuala Lumpur. Perjalanan dengan menaiki kereta dari Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Batu 38, Sabak Bernam ke Sungai Besar mengambil masa kira-kira 15 minit.
Penduduk Sungai Besar dianggarkan berjumlah 22,673 dan 43% adalah dalam lingkungan umur antara 20 tahun ke 55 tahun. Daripada jumlah keseluruhan penduduknya, 73% terdiri dari Melayu, Cina (23%) dan India (3.5%).
Majoriti penduduk Sungai Besar terdiri daripada kaum tani pengusaha industri kecil dan sederhana dan nelayan. Bersawah padi adalah pekerjaan utama, selain berkebun kelapa , kelapa sawit serta menangkap ikan dan perusahaan kerepek. Sungai Besar menjadi pusat pentadbiran Majlis Daerah Sabak Bernam di mana pejabat-pejabat kerajaaan dan Majlis Daerah terletak di pekan Sungai Besar.
Kini Sungai Besar semakin pesat membangun dari segi fizikal. Pekan Sungai Besar semakin berkembang menunjukkan kepesatan ekonomi para penduduknya. Sungai Besar merupakan salah satu dari 9 kawasan yang dikenal pasti untuk dibangunkan oleh Kerajaan Negeri Selangor bagi tujuan perumahan, industri kecil dan sederhana, institusi-institusi pendidikan dan pertanian serta akuakultur.
Pandang darat dari ciri budaya ialah kedai-kedai, pasar awam, rumah-rumah, stadium, sekolah-sekolah, stesen bas dan banyak lagi manakala pandang darat dari ciri fizikal ialah laut, pokok-pokok dan kawasan guna tanah.

Sabak Bernam merupakan sebuah daerah yang terletak di barat laut negeri Selangor, Malaysia. Daerah ini bersempadan dengan negeri Perak di utara dan Sungai Bernam membentuk garis sempadan tersebut. Selain itu, Hulu Selangor terletak di timur, Kuala Selangor di selatan serta Selat Melaka di barat. Bandar utama di sini adalah pekan Sabak, Sungai Besar dan Sekinchan. Daerah ini juga terkenal dengan penduduk berketurunan jawa.

My parents have friends who stay in a small, secluded fishing village in Sabak Bernam, close to the border of Perak and Selangor. They invited us up for a weekend of seafood and stuff. I put in more practice for my drone.

Sekinchan is a small town located in Sabak Bernam, Selangor, Malaysia. It is located along the coastal Federal Route 5. The Chinese name of the town 适耕庄 literally means suitable for planting in English.
Apart from being a lively fishing village, Sekinchan is one of the major rice producing areas of Malaysia. The vast, well-irrigated and organized paddy fields around Sekinchan produce one of the highest yields of rice in the country.
Sekinchan is often visited for its fresh seafood. It also draws diners from Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh. There are some rice millers in the area where locally produced rice can be purchased.

Sekinchan is a small town in the Sabak Bernam district in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. Apart from fishing villages, it is one of Malaysia's rice producing area.
Our first stop is to,
Tien Yin Seafood
Location: Kampung Sungai Gatal, Sabak Bernam, Selangor, Malaysia
There are some unique dishes to try here which are not that common.
1. Tofu Geng (Thick Tofu Broth), Score: 8/10
This is a thick Tofu broth with some seafood in it. You are supposed to add some Black Vinegar in it and it tastes like Shark's Fin Soup.
2. Steam Prawns with Egg, Score: 8.5/10
They are generous with the prawns. You can choose the types of prawns you want. The prawns are very fresh and succulent.
3. Kung Pao Mantis Prawn, Score: 8.5/10
Big chunks of Mantis Prawns cooked in a Dark Soy Sauce with Dried Chili and Onions
4. Sambal Prawns with Ladyfingers/Okra, Score: 8.5/10
Small bits of Prawns and Okras are stir-fried together in Sambal (Chili Paste). The Sambal is very aromatic and quite spicy.
5. Claypor Asam Shark, Score: 8.5/10
Have you tried Shark's Meat? It is soft and tender. Cooked in a Claypot of Asam Sauce (Sour & Spicy).
6. Mantis Prawn Fried Rice, Score: 7.5/10
Fried Rice with enough Wok Hei.
7. Sweet & Sour Crabs, Score: 8.5/10
The 1kg of Crabs here is accurate compare to the ones in the city. Crabs are Indonesian Mud Crabs cooked in sweet and sour sauce. Fresh Crabs.
8. Kam Heong (Spicy Dried Curry Sauce) Crabs, Score: 8.5/10
The Kam Heong sauce is very aromatic. Slightly spicy.
Environment ok. Place is very spacious.
Service is very good. Food is served within 10 minutes.
The price is very reasonable.

- After the food we went further down the road to enjoy a small secluded beach.
- You will need to drive for about 30min to Sekinchan Paddy Fields, if you're interested, you can visit the Paddy Museum here to know more about the planting, harvesting & processing of Paddy.
- Then we head to a bigger beach, Pantai Redang in Sekinchan where most of the tourists visit. There is a Buddhist Temple here and the famous Wishing Tree. Here you can have many local delicacies, buy local produce, fly-a-kite and enjoy the beach, though when we were there, it is low tide.
