São Luís is the capital city of the state of Maranhão. The portuguese historical center is unbelievably beautiful. This city is forgotten even by brazilians, but it has so much to offer. Portuguese colonial style, Old buildings, churches, the cathedral, the squares... It's just so much beauty everywhere.
And if you want to eat, I recommend Flor de Vinagreira restaurant. The food is delicious!

LENÇOIS MARANHENSES, BRAZIL: A DESERT with a THOUSAND LAGOONS - ALL sights
Lençois Maranhenses is a bizarre natural wonder in the north of Brazil. Nowhere else in the world you can find a desert-like landscape like this combined with a thousand of blue lagoons in half moon shapes. The ecosystem of the National Park of Lençois Maranhenses is quite unique and the falling rain creates a natural swimming paradise during and after the rain season. We hop on a 4x4 to make several adventurous trips to Lagoa Azul, Lagoa Bonito, the beautiful sunset, the beach and the fishermen's town of Atins. We dine at the world famous Sr. Antonio's to try their delicious grilled shrimp.
We visit Brazill during a year long trip around the world and we might even keep traveling indefinitely. On new year's we started on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. After that you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Brazil is already our fourteenth destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in Brazil and then to many more beautiful destinations! We also cross to Asia, Oceania and Africa! We travel non-stop all year round and film everything.

Foi uma surpresa muito agradável conhecer São Luís. Uma cidade tão importante para nossa história, cheia de cultura mas principalmente muito acolhedora.
Foi apenas um dia explorando a capital do Maranhão e começamos os passeios pelo centro histórico Reviver. O primeiro ponto turístico que visitamos foi o Palácio dos Leões (visita guiada gratuita). Depois visitamos o Museu do Reggae, o Tambor de Crioula e andamos pelas ruas do centro histórico como a famosa Rua do Giz, eleita uma das mais bonitas do país e a Rua Portugal com seus vários casarões de azulejos portugueses originais.

Today we are flying to Maranhao, in 4K!! Maranhao is a state in the northeastern part of Brazil!! As you can see in our thumbnail and title, they have freshwater lagoons in sand dunes!! It is a breathtaking sight to see, and we have it here for you in this video!! Maranhao is also home to a portion of the Amazon Rainforest and 45 miles of soft, white beaches along the Atlantic ocean!! The capital city is São Luís and we also get to see lots of that in todays video!!
If you're thinking of visiting this amazing location, the best months would be between May and September!! It's nice and sunny during this time and the lagoons in the dunes are full!! The temperature will be around the high 90's, and that's pretty much all year round!! And of course, don't forget that camera!! This place is a photographers dream!!
