Solothurn: A Must-Visit Destination in Switzerland
Solothurn was our fourth stop in the road trip. We were hosted by a great Swiss family in an Airbnb suit( Sarah Meile and her husband, Thomas Meile and her lovely daughters, Ladina Meile and Annika Meile). They were so nice. They showed us their farm lands. They took us to their place where they had cows and gave us fresh milk. I have included her contact information incase somebody wants to visit this great place and needs a room to stay.
As soons as we reached to the village we were amazed by the beautiful nature, amazing houses and the weather. We spent two nights there which I think was enough to explore and enjoy this city. Our place was in a small village which was about 45 minutes drive far from the city center which we discovered it on the first day.
The historical part of the city center is so amazing and you can see a lot of old buildings, a historical cathedral (Solothurn Cathedral) and can relax in a peaceful and quiet place. There are a lot of sights around the city which you can go and have a peaceful moment. We selected a lake which was beside a forest. We walked in the forest a little bit, had our lunch beside the lake and then drove back home.
On the second day we took a small trip to Zurich which I will create the video in the future and share it with you.

Solothurn Switzerland, beautiful small city in 4k - DJI Mavic 2 Pro | Switzerland trip Solothurn, Switzerland this small beautiful city in baroque style really impressed me with its mixed historic architecture. Solothurn is the capital city of the canton of Solothurn and is located on the river Aare and on the foot of the Jura mountains. The architecture in the city ranges from Italian, French and Swiss styles. Truly a nice small city not far from Bern, good option if you are on a Switzerland trip. Solothurn
Solothurn is a town, a municipality, and the capital of the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. It is located in the north-west of Switzerland on the banks of the Aare and on the foot of the Weissenstein Jura mountains.
The town is the only municipality of the district of the same name - Solothurn.
The town got its name from Salodurum, a Roman-era settlement. From 1530 to 1792 it was the seat of the French ambassador to Switzerland. The pedestrian-only old town was built between 1530 and 1792 and shows an impressive array of Baroque architecture, combining Italian Grandezza, French style, and Swiss ideas. The town has eighteen structures listed as heritage sites.
The official language of Solothurn is (the Swiss variety of Standard) German, but the main spoken language is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect.
Solothurn has a population (as of December 2020) of 16,802. As of 2008, 21.1% of the population are resident foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years (1999–2009) the population has changed at a rate of 4.4%.
Most of the population (as of 2000) speaks German (13,270 or 85.7%), with Italian being second most common (469 or 3.0%) and Albanian being third (261 or 1.7%). There are 193 people who speak French and 19 people who speak Romansh.
As of 2008, the gender distribution of the population in Solothurn was 48.1% male and 51.9% female. The population was made up of 5,891 Swiss men (37.0% of the population) and 1,775 (11.1%) non-Swiss men. There were 6,669 Swiss women (41.8%) and 1,604 (10.1%) non-Swiss women.
As of 2010, Solothurn had an unemployment rate of 4.6%.
Religion and Solothurn From the 2000 census, 5,463 or 35.3% were Roman Catholic, while 4,358 or 28.1% belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church. Of the rest of the population, there were 278 members of an Orthodox church (or about 1.79% of the population), there were 182 individuals (or about 1.18% of the population) who belonged to the Christian Catholic Church, and there were 248 individuals (or about 1.60% of the population) who belonged to another Christian church. There were 27 individuals (or about 0.17% of the population) who were Jewish, and 915 (or about 5.91% of the population) who were Islamic. There were 78 individuals who were Buddhist, 173 individuals who were Hindu and 27 individuals who belonged to another church. 3,139 (or about 20.27% of the population) belonged to no church, are agnostic or atheist, and 601 individuals (or about 3.88% of the population) did not answer the question.

Olten, Switzerland 4K - A beautiful historic Swiss Town
The small town of Olten lies between Solothurn and Aarau at the southern foot of the Jura on the river Aare. Thanks to its central location in the Swiss Mittelland, the town is a popular venue for conventions and meetings. The unspoiled nature of the nearby Jura heights however also makes the area an attractive leisure region.
When undertaking a tour through the old town, a visit to Olten’s museums, the nature museum, art museum, historical museum and home of the cantonal archaeological museum and «Wertpapierwelt», the historical museum of shares and bonds, is well worthwhile. Those with a yearning for the exotic will find Switzerland’s largest Thai temple in nearby Gretzenbach. Finally, on travelling around Olten, visitors will encounter a multitude of interesting fortresses, ruins, castles, churches and chapels.
