10 Most Hated Towns in England
What are the most hated towns in England? No matter how good a country is, every part of it can’t be loved equally. In fact, some parts of it are bound to be hated. Even the most fanatic lover of a country will love some parts of it less than others. I have heard some people complaining about some towns in England, the home of the Queen that some people are dying to live and work in. That prompts research into the 10 most hated towns in England.
This ranking is based mainly on the comments and complaints of residents of England and visitors to those towns. But it’s not limited to that since some complaints can be completely baseless. We dig deeper in researching these 10 most hated towns in England.
10. Slough
Let’s begin with Slough, a town in Berkshire, within the historic county of Buckinghamshire. This town is 20 miles west of central London and 19 miles northeast of Reading. You will find the town in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolis around the area at the intersection of the M4.
In spite of its location, Slough according to those visitors, is a town whose streets are littered with empty takeaway and full of packets or empty beer cans. This assertion hasn’t been contradicted by even just one resident. The quality of food in the town’s restaurants appears, kind of, made for losers who’re just out to eat as much unhealthy food as they can get away with.
9. Scunthorpe
It’s not desirable to find Scunthorpe among the most hated towns in England. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to take it out of our list because the facts obviously place it there. This industrial town in the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire should normally be the pride of Lincolnshire as its main administrative center. But the town with an estimated population of 82,334 in 2016 had many things going against it.
Residents of the UK’s largest steel processing center, also known as the Industrial Garden Town, are frustrated by a lack of the liveliness and diversity in the town only known for work. However, the loudest grouse that lists Scunthorpe alongside the most hated towns in England is the indiscriminate censorship and blocking of websites for spurious reasons.

Retford Walk: Town Centre【4K】
Located in the county of Nottinghamshire, and around 25 miles east of Sheffield, is the town of Retford, sometimes referred to as East Retford.
Geographically Retford is situated on the River Idle in the Bassetlaw District, Nottinghamshire's northernmost district. King Henry I established the borough of East Retford in 1105, making it one of the oldest boroughs in England. A royal charter was granted by Henry III in 1246 for a market to be held each Thursday. This was extended in 1275 by Edward I to include Saturday as well.
In 1528 much of Retford was destroyed by a fire. However the town went on to prosper during the 18th and 19th century. The Great North Road entered into the town in 1766. This allowed stagecoaches to pass through Retford all the way from London to Edinburgh. This was essentially the precursor to the modern day A1 which comes within a few miles of Retford. In 1777 the Chesterfield Canal was completed, allowing goods to be transported in and out of Retford. In 1849 the railway arrived in Retford. To this day it provides a direct transport link between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh on the East Coast Main Line.
The church featured in the walk is St Swithun's Church. The first recorded reference of this church dates all the way back to 1258. However most of the church was rebuilt in the 1650s following a collapse of the tower in 1651. Outside the church we see the Sebastopol Cannon. This was captured in 1855 during the Battle of Sebastopol towards the end of the Crimean War and was given to the town in 1858. The cannon was later removed during the scrap metal drive of the Second World War, but was rescued and unveiled anew in 1950.

Places to see in ( Bawtry - UK )
Places to see in ( Bawtry - UK )
Bawtry is a small market town and civil parish which lies at the point where the western branch of the Roman road Ermine Street crosses the River Idle in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England and met the Great North Road. Nearby towns include Gainsborough to the east, Retford south south-east, Worksop to the south-west and Doncaster to the north-west. Historically within the West Riding of Yorkshire.
Bawtry is located in the metropolitan borough of Doncaster on the border with Nottinghamshire, and is situated between Bircotes and Misson at the conjunction of the A614, A631 and A638 roads. The present A638 was for centuries the Great North Road, and in the 20th century the town was a notorious bottleneck, until it was bypassed in 1965. The county boundary with Nottinghamshire runs just to the south of the town and for this reason the southernmost house on the Great North Road is named 'Number One Yorkshire'.
The town's former prosperity was based on its communications, the River Idle in the days when it was a port, the Great North Road in the coaching era, and the Great Northern Railway.
Bawtry has a school called Bawtry Mayflower School named after the ship Mayflower, which took William Bradford, leader of the Pilgrims, to the Americas, settling the first Plymouth Colony. Bradford lived at Austerfield, close to Bawtry. The White Hart in Swan Street is the oldest surviving pub in Bawtry dating back to 1689. The older Swan Inn, also in Swan Street, is still intact, but converted to other uses.
South Parade is a terrace of Georgian houses. The Market Hill and High Street contain other buildings of that period, interspersed with more recent developments. The Courtyard in Bawtry is a modern development hosting a variety of shops and businesses. The entire development was designed by Graham Smith Design, who went on to win the Green Apple Awards 2005 in recognition of the efforts to preserve and enhance the heritage of Bawtry.
( Bawtry - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Bawtry . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Bawtry - UK

Britain’s currency is the pound sterling (£), which is divided into 100 pence (p).
Scotland has its own pound sterling notes. These represent the same value as an English note and can be used elsewhere in Britain. The Scottish £1 note is not accepted outside Scotland.
There are lots of bureaux de change in Britain – often located inside:

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK
Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:
If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.
If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).
Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.
European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.
If you have any further visa questions visit the official UK government website.
Anyone that has any questions, please feel free the comment below and I will answer them for you.

The Tim Traveller Mediocre Mountain Challenge Short Film | Retford, England
The Tim Traveller Mediocre Mountain Challenge encourages people to get outside and walk to their highest local point that’s reachable by foot, even if it’s nowhere near as high as a mountain 😂
We love walks, so the TTT Mediocre Mountain Challenge inspired us to make a cinematic short film. We’ve got a behind the scenes vlog about it coming up soon too.
We found the highest point where we live in Retford, England and set off for an afternoon hike to reach the summit! Our “mountain” was definitely VERY mediocre, but it was a really hot day in England so we felt like we’d climbed Scafell Pike 😂 The highest point was 330FT and at the far end of a nearby wood.
Cheers to The Tim Traveller for encouraging us to go outside for a beautiful hike in nature, and inspiring us to create this short film to document reaching the summit of our mediocre mountain here in Retford, England.

Stagecoach East Midlands 27 Full Route Visual- Retford to Misson
Hello everyone, welcome to this new visual that I can say drove me absolutely mad trying to film - but I do absolutely love this route!! This is a full route visual of the 27, which runs from Retford Bus Station to Misson, High Street via Retford Market Place, Retford Hospital, Hallcroft, Randall Way, Sandiforths, Sutton cum Lound, Wetlands Lakes, Lound, Mattersey, Mattersey Thorpe, Mattersey, Everton, Harwell, Scaftworth, Bawtry, Austerfield and Newington.
This is one of my favourite Nottinghamshire routes, and is one I've had my eyes on timelapsing for a couple of years now. Well, I finally went upto Retford on the bus last Tuesday in order to catch it - and, an E300 came in... So, the next day, I looked on the tracker for the 27, and it was the same E300, then on the next day: another E300, and then I woke up early on the Friday to check on the tracker what was on the 07:05 29 from Doncaster (I managed to work out that was the bus that worked onto the 27 for the rest of the day) and it was a Plaxton President... So, I took the risk that the President would stay running and worked my upto Retford for the 10:35 bus. Thankfully it did, so here we are!
The 27 is an utterly fantastic route, and is one I love so much because I value my native Nottinghamshire very highly. And this route is such a rural route that most people from Nottinghamshire (including myself) won't have even heard of half the places this serves, unless they're Retfordians or they've travelled along this route! Plus to sum it off, it terminates in the Northernmost village of Nottinghamshire, which is somewhere I can now proudly say I've been to. What's even more funny about Misson is that because it sits on the North-bank of the River Idle, there is no crossing over the river into mainland Nottinghamshire, so you have to enter/exit the village through South Yorkshire. This means that the 27 isn't an 'entirely Nottinghamshire' route, as it goes through Bawtry & Austerfield which are in South Yorkshire; however the vast majority of this route is in Nottinghamshire - including both termini.
The 27 runs every 2 hours, using pretty much any available bus that Gainsborough depot has (except the InterConnect MMCs). Yes - this route runs through Nottinghamshire & South Yorkshire, and is operated by a depot in Lincolnshire!
Thanks for watching! Please remember to like and subscribe! :)
