Dholpur is a city in eastern-most parts of the Rajasthan state of India. It is the administrative headquarters of Dholpur District and was formerly seat of the Dholpur princely state. Dholpur State was a kingdom of India, which was founded in 1806 AD by a Hindu Jat Maharana Kirat Singh of Dholpur.

Dausa Dausa is a small ancient megacity named after the Sanskrit word Dhau-a meaning Beautiful like Heaven. Likewise applied as Deva Nagri, situated around 55 km from Jaipur, on National Highway 11. The municipality was the first settlement of the previous Kachhawaha Dynasty and has a significant history and has an important history and archaeological significance linked to it.
Dausa Deposited in the eastern part of Rajasthan, Dholpur came a separate quarter in 1982 comprising four tehsils of Bharatpur – videlicet Dholpur, Rajakhera, Bari, and Baseri. Cut out of Bharatpur quarter, Dholpur is supported by Agra in the north region, Morena quarter of Madhya Pradesh on the south, and Karauli on the west.

Positioned to the south of Dholpur, the Shergarh Fort was built by Raja Maldeo of Jodhpur. It was reconstructed in 1540 by Sher Shah Suri the founder of Suri dynasty and the fort was named after him. Shergarh Fort was initially built in defense against the rulers of Mewar. This historic monument is considered to be the epitome of rich, delicately-styled architecture from the past. Adorned with carved images, statues of Hindu gods and Jain motifs, the Shergarh Fort was once protected by water and is considered to be the charm of Dholpur.
Location of the Fort The fort is positioned about 7 kilometres south of Dholpur city on the left bank of the Chambal River near a road bridge on the National Highway No. 2.

Dholpur is a town 55 kilometres of Agra and was a significant center during Mughal era. Although most renowned for the holy Teerthraj Machkund within the historic city is an exquisite Royal Step Well also known as Baori built from the famed red sandstone.
Hidden behind the Tomb of Gajra is this pretty red sandstone 19th century Baori. The Royal Step Well, though unknown to most that visit this little town, is unique for its beautiful double artistic pillars, carved stones and delicate arches that surround its long rectangular tank and a circular double-storied well at the back, the arches of the circular pattern of the well show distinct Mughal influence. Hemmed in by buildings on all sides, the structure looks better conserved than the neighboring Tomb of Gajra.
