The Road to Tihun ,Bonthe District, Sierra Leone
Bonthe District is a district comprises several islands and mainland of the Atlantic Ocean in the Southern Province of Sierra Leone. Bonthe is one of the sixteen districts of Sierra Leone. Its capital is the town of Mattru Jong and its largest city is Bonthe, on Sherbro Island. As of the 2015 census, the district had a population of 200,730.[4] Bonthe District is one of the sixteen districts of Sierra Leone. Bonthe District is subdivided into eleven chiefdoms.
The District occupies a total area of 3,468 km². The District of Bonthe borders the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Moyamba District to the northwest, Bo District to the southeast and Pujehun District to the south. The fifth and current President of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio is from Bonthe District.
Bonthe district is largely made up of two main ethnic groups; the Sherbro and Mende. Bonthe district is the native home of the Sherbro people who make up a large minority of the district population. Bonthe district has a large population of both Muslims and Christians.
Bonthe District has one of the world's largest deposits of titanium ore (rutile) in the world. Sierra Rutile Limited, owned by a consortium of US and European investors, began commercial mining operations in Bonthe in early 1979. Due to poor mining policy, the region has little to show for this huge economic potential.

Faces2Hearts in SIERRA LEONE - Rebuilding Bandajuma with Ngoyia
The ProResilience Action is a huge EU funded initiative implemented with the support of government partners and three NGOs - COOPI and InterAide in the northern provinces and Welthungerhilfe in the East. The PROACT project's overall goal is to improve food security in Sierra Leone by fostering smallholder agriculture.
In this video, Kirstie and Esteban visit Bandajuma Togboma in the Eastern Provinces, a town once destroyed by the war. Now, with Ngoyia - unity - and the help of Welthungerhilfe, the people of Bandajuma are continuing to rebuild and grow their town. In Bandajuma, Kirstie and Esteban learned more about Welthungerhilfe's support to cocoa and coffee farmers through the PROACT project and the positive impact it has had on communities throughout the east.

Alive & Well - Sierra Leone
Here is a quick summary visit of the trip to Sierra Leone with the water charity Alive & Well and Rorys Well.
This was a great week helping out doing some camera work for the trip to Open and Dedicate the first Rory Well. We were able to locate an additional 11 wells on this trip alone. Thank you to all the donations to help make this happen. You can see the major difference these wells are making to the people of the Pujehun Regoin of Sierra Leone.
