COLOMBIA || Road Trip to Anakay Nature Reserve - Part 1
This video was NOT made specifically for kids.
We are back with the first video in a two-part series of our Family and Friends Road Trip to Anakay Nature Reserve, which is located in the far eastern area of Colombia. Colombia ends at the Orinoco River and Venezuela starts on the eastern side, although the various islands in the middle have been divided up between the two countries. This first video covers the long 2-day drive to Anakay, our first full day there, and then the amazing day long boat tour that some of our group went on (from Puerto Carreño).
The boat tour was amazing, as we saw lots of pink river dolphins, went on a long hike, and got to visit an indigenous community. We had the best boat captain, who agreed to pull up to an island owned by Venezuela so that we could get out and stand on Venezuela soil, fulfilling a dream of ours, although obviously we would have rather taken Reggie in and seen the spectacular sights that Venezuela has to offer.
Stay tuned next week for the second video in our series, which will cover the second half of our 10-day trip. We go on an animal-spotting boat ride, have a picnic on a beach, watch a gorgeous sunset, and fly the drone over the lake.
