Nestled at the base of the north side of the Pryor Mountains, along the Montana and Wyoming border, Sage Creek Campground is the only campground in these mountains. Sage Creek campground - Pryor Mountains, Montana

We took Jack on his first camping trip and he did great!

I (Shane) had always wanted to check out the Pryor mountains, because it's such an interesting looking range from Carbon County. I was glad that we were able to take some time and get up into the high country.

It was really much more lush than I had expected it to be. A lot of that area is in the rain shadow of the Beartooth Mountains - the highest mountains in Montana, and so there is a lot of dry land out there. Well, Sage Creek campground did not disappoint!

While we were up there, we checked out this big ice cave called... Big Ice Cave, lol.

Thanks for checking out the video. Let us know if you have suggestions for areas around Montana that you would like to see us feature here on Adventures of Shane and Laura!

Bighorn Canyon: Wyoming's OVERLOOKED park #shorts

Wyoming's great but Yellowstone and the Tetons get crowded. Here's my favorite things to do at the less visited Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area. And stay to the end to see wild horses.

#4 Hike to the rim for incredible views of the rugged canyon and Bighorn river.

#3 These ancient stone circles are the remains of tipi rings used by Native Americans for thousands of years.

#2 Visit the remains of historic 19th century ranches. They came searching for gold but stayed for the ranching.

And #1 Look for wild horses roaming the hills surrounding the canyon. We were thrilled to catch a glimpse of these beautiful animals.

Oklahoma Driving through Claremore Oklahoma Endless Farmlands, Beautiful country

Driving through Oklahoma, I was amazed at how beautiful it was, the only thing I’d ever equated with Oklahoma was Tornadoes, corn, and wheat. The visual in my head was a huge vast nothingness of brown hay fields. I have a brand new respect and appreciation for Oklahoma now. I definitely want to go back to explore the small towns and historical sites. I really don’t like my pre-conceived notions about places. I find that I’m always wrong, once I get off my butt and actually see the place I hear about.
My challenge to you is,. Go out and visit someplace that you may have heard bad things about, and experience it for yourself to see if your mental image of said place is, if you were wrong, tell everyone about the place to help them rearrange their impressions as well.
Let me know what you think in the comments section below.
I generally put out a new video on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week.

Wild horses at Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range in Wyoming

Pryor Mountain Wild Horses & Bighorn Recreation Area.

A day trip through the Bighorn Recreation Area in Northern Wyoming just outside of Lovell, Wyoming. We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Pryor wild Horses and a few Bighorn sheep. The walk through the Two Eagles Interpretive Trail was informative. There are more than 140 stones that were used by tribal families to hold down Tipi edges.
If you are in Wyoming this is a must see.

Exploring Backroads of Montana's Pryor Mountains: Big Ice Cave, Wildflowers, Chief Plenty Coups SP

Come along for a drive through the backroads of Montana's Pryor Mountains! We're taking the back way from Billings and heading to the Big Ice Cave via Pryor Gap Road.

You'll see why we download Google maps for offline use whenever we are heading into off-grid country like this for exploring. This is one of the best hacks we've ever discovered. It is really nice to be able to pull up a GPS satellite image of where you are at any time... especially when the road turns out to not be where you expected!

Along the way, we do a little exploring, as always. 😋Montana is amazing during in June / early July. The wildflowers are going absolutely nuts! This doesn't last long. Soon the drought of summer is going to set in so we soak up all this color while we can. We also stop off at Chief Plenty Coups State Park for a little side trip. On days like today, it is more about the journey than the destination.
