Let's Go to Know POSO's Famous EEL which is Famous inJapan - Central Sulawesi - Visit Indonesia
Source Blog:
So far, you may be more familiar with Poso Regency as an area where conflicts often arise. But behind all that, there is a uniqueness to Poso Regency that you definitely don't know about. Poso Regency is very famous for eels; have you ever heard of this fish? This aquatic animal thrives in the estuaries of lakes and seas in Poso. This eel is also commonly known as sogoli, which is actually very famous. It is possible that you have never enjoyed this eel in a Japanese restaurant.
This typical Poso fish has a very heavy weight. This animal, which is included in the Angulliformes order, has a body shape that is almost similar to that of an eel. Not a few people call it a giant eel, and at first glance, this eel is indeed very similar to an eel. But of course there is a difference, namely the fin under the head of the eel; this fin is not owned by the eel. Did you know that this eel is also a favorite food in Japan? Japanese people are more familiar with eels by the name of unagi. So, have you ever tasted unagi?
The reason why Japanese people like this aquatic animal is because it has a very high protein content. where the protein content is much higher than salmon. Yes, that's why it's no wonder the Japanese people really like this aquatic animal. In fact, a study found other ingredients in eel.
This eel, or unagi, is believed to have 25 times more vitamin B1 content than cow's milk. Vitamin B2 is also found, and the amount of its content reaches five times that of cow's milk. Vitamin A was also found to contain up to 45 times that of cow's milk. Another ingredient that makes eel special is zinc, which is found nine times more than zinc in cow's milk.
This fish, which is often found in Poso, is quite expensive. Not a few people call it a luxury food, which explains why the price of Japanese food menus that use unagi is also expensive. As you already know, unagi is very popular with the Japanese. That's why Japan is the world's largest eel exporter. Unfortunately, this high demand is not matched by the growth of eels. Until now, the people of Poso have still used traditional fishing methods using traps.
April to June turn out to be the unagi harvest season. Well, it was during these months that the people of Poso would be busy harvesting eels. The weight of this fish in the harvest season can reach 20 kilograms, you know, whereas in normal months it only reaches 3-5 kilograms.Specifically for Japan, weekly shipments reach 500 kilograms.
In a country that has the nickname Cherry Blossoms, eels are often grilled with certain special spices. This dish is commonly known as kabayaki. The style of preparation differs according to the region; in some places the eel is steamed while in others it is not, but the eel is always dipped in sweet soy sauce. Kabayaki is served with rice, and the dish has gone by various names depending on how it is served. So you already know that unagi, which is common in Japanese restaurants, could come from Poso.

Bamboo rice is one of the special foods of the Poso people; local people often call this special food Inuyu. You can find bamboo or Inuyu rice in Malei Village, Lage District, Poso Regency, and Central Sulawesi.
Inuyu is made from glutinous rice mixed with coconut milk, and to add to the taste, stir-fried onions are added. After that, it is then put into the bamboo, which has been coated with banana leaves, and baked for about 3–4 hours so that the maturity is even.
This special food is often found at certain times, such as at the rice harvest Thanksgiving event, or local people often call it Padungku, which is held once a year after the rice harvest.

SOMBORI Island:The Beauty of a Tropical Island in Southeast Sulawesi - Visit Indonesia
Source Blog:
Sulawesi is perhaps better known for its tourist attractions such as Bunaken or Wakatobi. However, there is actually one other tourist spot that is no less interesting than these two locations, namely Sombori Island. This island is located in the Morowali area of Central Sulawesi. Within the Sombori archipelago, there are three small islands. The three islands are now home to the Bajo community, which is mostly fishermen, and the rest are uninhabited islands. Many say that this island has extraordinary underwater beauty that can even be said to rival Raja Ampat and is similar to Phi Phi Island.
A passenger ship will transport the tourists around the island of Sombori. This boat is used by the Bajo residents who live there to cross from Kaleroang Island to Kendari Harbor. During the trip, your eyes will be spoiled by the natural beauty of the islands. If you are lucky on the trip, you will meet a group of dolphins, sharks, or even whales.
Many compare the beauty of Sombori Island tourism to that of Thailand's Phi Phi Island.Islands with high cliffs make tourist attractions in Sombori look very similar to Phi Phi Island. Sombori is even more beautiful because it is shaped like a bay, complete with a stunning stretch of white sand. You can go around this row of islands by boat or snorkel in the clear waters.
When you go to Sombori, don't forget to explore the Diamond Cave. It is so named because this Sombori Island tourist spot has stalactites that sparkle very much like diamonds when exposed to light. To get here, RedTraveler must first climb a cliff with a slope of 70 to 80 degrees. The path in this cave is made of rocks and tree roots. As a result, RedTraveler must exercise caution when passing through this location. In the afternoon or morning, you will see a beautiful view when the sun enters the cracks of the hole, or what is known as the ray of light. Apart from Goa Berlian, there is one more cave that you must visit during your visit to Sombori, namely Goa Skull. As the name implies, this cave has many skulls in it. However, no one knew where these skulls came from until now. This cave is located at an altitude of 40 meters above sea level.
The beauty of Kayangan seems to be reflected perfectly on Kayangan Sombori Island. The beautiful beach on Kayangan Island can be said to be quite long, ranging from 20 meters to 50 meters, and is decorated with towering rock cliffs. The location of Kayangan Island is also close to other islands in Sombori. The waters surrounding Kayangan Island are classified as shallow. So, the location is perfect for RedTraveler to make it a place to snorkel or just swim and play in the water.
When you climb to the top of the hill on Kayangan Island, you can see the climax beauty of the island. It is recommended to use sneakers or mountain sandals while passing through the coral reefs on this island because the rocks are slippery. Because most of the coral here is sharp, you should also bring gloves. To get to the top of the hill, you only need about 10 minutes because the track is not too long. From up here, you can see the beauty of the scenery in the form of expanses of islands and coral, which is complemented by the beautiful blue sea water.
