Poiana Călineasa, refugiul pitoresc al moţilor
În Apuseni, la cota 1.400, se află un loc feeric, cunoscut până nu demult doar de moţi, locuitorii mândri ai acestui ţinut. Poiana Călineasa este reşedinţa de vară a locuitorilor de pe cursul Arieşului Mare şi se află pe teritoriul comunei Gârda de Sus, pe culmile masivului Bihor.
În lunile aprilie şi mai, oamenii din satele Gheţari, Casa de Piatră, Hănăşeşti, Poiana Horea, Ocoale şi Stânişoara pornesc cu animalele spre Poiana Călineasa. Cei care rămân în sate peste vară au misiunea de a cosi şi de a strânge fânul care va fi principala hrană pentru animale pe timpul iernii
Cum se ajunge în Poiana Călineasa Poiana Călineasa este o o combinaţie de pajişti şi peluze situate pe un platou montan. Accesul se face din comuna Gârda de Sus – pe DN75 – spre traseul către Cheile Ordâncuşei (DC750). După ieşirea din Chei, pe culme, pe drumul ce duce în satul Ocoale şi la Peştera Scărişoara, la dreapta, se face un drum asfaltat ce duce în Poiana Călineasa. Din centrul comunei până sus, sunt vreo 10 kilometri.

We’re so excited to finally be in Romania. This our first time in the country and we’re starting our time here in the capital city of Bucharest. Looking for things to do? We go you covered :)
We begin the video by checking out some green space in the city, a beautiful park called Cișmigiu Gardens. While here we visit the pond (which is empty), see some interesting ducks and swans and take a walk around.
Afterwards we head over to one of the main and most touristy areas of the city, the Old Town. Bucharest isn’t known as being the most beautiful city in Europe but the Old town has the old city charm with older buildings and cobblestone streets. While here we take you into our hotel (New Era Hotel) to check out our room and our awesome view.
Later we head to one of the most famous buildings in Bucharest, the Palace of Parliament. It happens to be the second biggest administrative buildings in the world (after the Pentagon). We didn’t go inside but checked it out from the road.
Lastly we did one of our favourite things, went to find some craft beer! We’d been in Turkey for awhile where it was difficult to find craft beer so we were really excited to find it in Bucharest. We went to a place called Zaganu.

Must See this Unusual 1843 Passage in Bucharest Romania
In Romanian known as Pasajul Macca-Vilacrosse.
The passage was re-established in 1891, named after Xavier Villacrosse who was one of the chief architect of Bucharest from 1840 - 1850 and the second branch of the passage was named after the Son in law Mihalache Macca.
The passage formation is like a forked shape and on both side it is covered with a yellow glass ceiling that allows natural light to shine in while protecting the passage from the rain.
The Central part of the building was occupied by the Pesht Hotel and used the first floor as rooms. While On the ground floor there were shops and hereby became one of the first Shopping malls in Bucharest.
As this location is very historical and goes way back in time, there is plenty of details not included here. Instead i will provide several websites below, if you would like to know more about it.

Village life in Romania
At least once a year I try to visit my grandmother that lives in Romania. She lives in a small village called Popesti and its surrounded by a river and mountains. They still drive carriages with horses, collect water from the well and the roads are unpaved.
This time I visited the village with questions. Does everybody feel the same serenity that I feel? Or maybe its just a fairy-tale that I created in my mind because I am here for just a short time and then I will leave again.
I believe this video will make you experience the authentic life of Romania through the stories and feelings of locals.

The death of a palace - Conacul Marghiloman | Drone Footage - DJI Mavic Pro
Situated in Hagiesti - Calarasi at about 30 kilometers far from Bucharest, The capital city of Romania, Conacul Marghiloman was built between 1869 and 1874 on the base of an older noble contructruction. It includes architecture details specific for the Romanian constructions of noblemen in XIX century.
It was built by italian masters at the request of Alexandru Marghiloman, a very important man of Romania during the WWI. The palace has 3 levels( basement, Ground floor with 7 rooms and 1st floor with 10 rooms), a central loby where can be still observed parts of original paintings with religious themes and 2 large balconies.
After the death of Alexandru Marghiloman, the prime minister of Romania in 1918, the palace was inherited by her dauther, Suzana Marghiloman. In the end it remained in the custody of Capra family and after 1950 during comunism period it was used as storage room for cereals.
In 1996 was declared as historical monument and recently it was included in a program of European Comission for salvage of abandoned monuments.
