The Zaraysk Kremlin is a rectangular fortified citadel, built on the orders of the Grand Prince Vasili III, originally constructed between 1528 and 1531, and located in the European part of Russia. It forms the historic centre of the industrial town of Zaraysk, roughly 160 km (100 miles) to the south-east of Moscow.
Within the walls two historical church buildings survive, both built very much more recently than the Kremlin itself. The St. Nicholas Cathedral, topped off with no fewer than five onion domes, was built in 1681, replacing an earlier timber structure. Nearby is the Church of the beheading of St John the Baptist, architecturally very different, consecrated in 1821 and most recently rebuilt in 1901-1904. While the St. Nicholas Cathedral follows the traditional Russian style, the John the Baptist Church, with its single dome, follows neoclassical principals. #grquadstudio

Baikalsko jezero in Irkutsk Najina prva voznja na transibirski zeleznici je bila dolga kar 56 ur in ob prihodu v mesto Chita sva se odlocila, da mora biti najina naslednja voznja vsekakor krajsa. Zaradi tega, sva se odlocila, da narediva naslednji postanek v Irkutsku, od koder se bova lahko podala tudi do Bajkalskega jezera. V Chiti sva se tako vkrcala na vlak in cez 20 ur sva ze bila v Irkutsku. Irkutsk se kot mesto samo ne razlikuje veliko od ostalih velikih sibirskih mest in ponuja obicajen repertoar muzejev, znamenitih ulic z enkratnimi zgradbami, lesene hiske iz obdobja decembristov ter impozantne zelezniske postaje. Kljub temu pa noben obiskovalec v Irkutsku ne more mimo, da ne bi opazil reke Angare. V Irkutsku zivi okoli 600000 prebivalcev in v okolici je precej tezke industrije, a je Angara, ki tece skozi mesto kljub temu na pogled bolj cista kot nasa Soca. S 20 metrov visokega mostu je brez problema mogoce videti povsem jasno dno kakih 5 do 10 metrov globoko in po stevilu ribicev sodec je reka polna rib vseh vrst. Nikoli se nisva bila v ogromnem mestu skozi katerega bi tekla tako cista reka, da bi jo clovek upal piti. Razlog, da je Angara tako cista pa je v njenem viru. Angara je namrec edina reka, ki tece iz jezera Bajkal, ki lezi kaksnih 70 km vzhodno od mesta. Bajkalsko jezero je najstarejse jezero na zemlji in hkrati tudi najgloblje jezero na zemlji. V bistvu gre za peti ocean na nasem planetu, saj jezero lezi med dvema tektonskima ploscama, ki se ze nekaj milijonov let oddaljujeta druga od druge. Ker Azija trenutno se ni na tem mestu razdeljena na dva dela, Bajkal ostaja jezero, je pa vsako leto nekaj globlje in je po zadnjih meritvah globoko kar 1637 metrov. Zaradi edinstvenih razmer je postal Bajkal dejansko muzej zivalskih vrst, saj vec kot 80% zivali, ki v njem zivijo, ni mogoce najti nikjer drugje. Jezero vsebuje okoli 20% vse pitne vode na zemlji in bi lahko clovestvo pri trenutnem stevilu ljudi iz njega crpalo pitno vodo okoli 40 let, ce bi vsi ostali viri presahnili. Ciniki ob tem radi recejo, da ko bo Rusom zmanjkalo nafte za prodajo, bodo skozi sedanje naftovode v Evropo pac prodajali svezo vodo iz Bajkala. Morda najbolj osupljiv podatek sploh o vodi iz Bajkala pa je vidljivost dna. Zaradi nenavadnih mikro organizmov, ki zivijo le tukaj in cistijo vodo, je dno mogoce jasno videti tudi do 40 metrov globoko. Dlje kot na kateremkoli jezeru ali morju kar jih poznamo. V zimskem casu jezero, ki ze poleti ne preseze temperature 15 stopinj Celzija, pokriva debela ledena plast. Ob najinem obisku se je led ze topil na mestu, kjer jezero zapusca reka Angara, prav tako pa tudi na sredi jezera zagotovo ni bila vec debelejsa od enega metra. Ob obrezju, kjer so ribici vrtali v led, da so lahko lovili ribe, sva lahko opazovala dno jezera in se nama ledena odeja ni zdela debelejsa kot kaksnega pol metra ali morda najvec 70 cm. Kljub temu so se osebni avtomobili pogumno podajali na voznje po jezeru (ker je jezero dolgo nekaj vec kot 636km in siroko vedno vsaj okoli 60 km se seveda niso podajali na voznje cez jezero), druzbo pa so jim delale mnozice motornih sani, kocij, konjev, sprehajalcev in tudi zelo zanimiva vozila na zracnih blazinah. Midva sva se prav tako podala na jezero in sicer najprej pes, kar pa se zal ni koncalo najbolje. Ob obrezjih jezera namrec led zaradi svojega sirjenja poka in potiska velike ledene plosce na svoje povrsje. Ob takih prelomih pa se kdaj pa kdaj zgodi, da med dvema debelima ploscama nastane razpoka pokrita le z nekaj centimetri ledu. V taksno razpoko je med najinim sprehajanjem stopila Tina in se v jezeru skoraj okopala. Na sreco ni okusila slavne bajkalske vode dalj kot le malo pod koleno, a je zato se kako dobro okusila sibirski mraz. Voda sama po sebi nima temperature dosti nad niclo, ko pa sva hitela do bliznjega bara pa so Tini zaradi mraza ze zamrznili mokri cevlji, hlace ter smucarsko spodnje perilo. Sploh si ne zeliva predstavljati kaj se zgodi, ce se ti taksna nesreca pripeti kje na samem in se nimas moznosti umakniti kam na toplo. Po susenju vsega mokrega sva se za slovo odpravila na jezero s prej omenjenim vozilom na blazinah, ki nama je se enkrat v istem dnevu dvignil adrenalin, a tokrat ne zaradi ... Read and see more at:

Adastra is the 140foot (42.5m) Trimaran recently lanched in China, and was built at McConaghy Boats Zhuhai Facility, China for a Hong Kong client for long range ocean voyaging. Designed by John Shuttleworth Design.
Adastra is the result careful design, planning and discussion with the owners, to build a yacht that meets the needs of a very experienced ocean voyaging couple and their family, and to provide the level of comfort and style that would be expected in a yacht of this class and size. No effort has been spared in the challenge to produce a beautiful yacht that will have low fuel consumption and yet provide excellent sea keeping qualities and luxurious accommodation. Adastra takes the power trimaran concept further than has ever been attempted before, previous vessels like Earthrace and Cable and Wireless were stripped out record breaking machines. The challenge of turning this concept into a viable luxury yacht has led us to further research and to develop new thinking on stability and comfort at sea for this type of craft. Extensive tank testing and radio controlled model tests in waves have been carried out to analyze stability and performance. Outrigger height has been optimized for ease of motion at sea, and a new outrigger shape has been developed to increase stability in waves. We have undertaken a state of the art structural analysis of all the major components in the yacht in order to achieve the light weight required for very low fuel consumption. All this has resulted in the exceptional vessel that was recently launched by McConaghy boats in Zhuhai, China.
Adastra's 16 metre beam creates a spacious saloon area on the main deck which offers superb views through a panoramic window and accommodates a lounge area, dining table, and navigation station. A forward facing door through the saloon window gives easy access to a large sunbed on the foredeck. The aft deck has a sofa and bar area to port and a dining area to starboard, further aft of this there is space for a 4.9 metre tender and directly below is a garage which can store a 3.1 metre tender. The garage door has been designed to fold out and create a large dive platform. Extra space has been created below deck by slightly flaring the central hull just above the waterline. This area has been split into two sections with a full-width master cabin located aft with access from the deck saloon, and two further guest cabins, accommodation for the crew, and the galley located forward of the engine compartment. Adastra offers comfortable accommodation for nine guests and up to six crew members. The main helm station, which has seating for two, is positioned in a raised pilot house situated between the aft deck and the saloon area and forms part of the cross beam structure.
A SiMON² integrated ships monitoring system monitors fuel, security, pump sensors, electrical, lights, etc. The vessel has a fully automated fuel management system which includes an Alfa Laval system for cleaning the fuel.
The anchoring system is unique with 3 anchors all driven by carbon fibre drum winches run by hydraulics. The primary anchor is a custom 130kg Bruce style anchor that deploys out of the starboard wing. The bow anchor is 80kg and deploys out of the bow with a carbon fibre arm. The third anchor is 60kg which deploys out of the port wing and will be used as a stern anchor.
The Superstructure is carbon fibre with Nomex honeycomb core, the hull is Glass/Kevlar foam sandwich and the interior is light weight oak cabinetry using honeycomb panels. To help reduce weight, virtually every aspect of the boat is custom built. This includes carbon fibre hatches, portlights, ladders and even hinges, which are all built specifically for the vessel.

▶ Gnosjö (from Wikipedia) Gnosjö Municipality (Gnosjö kommun) is a municipality in Jönköping County, southern Sweden where the town Gnosjö is seat. The Swedish local government reform of 1952 formed this municipality out if five former entities, and it has not been amalgamated with others since then. About half of the municipal population live in Gnosjö town, the rest is spread between smaller localities, and rural areas.
