Traseu in Muntii Harghitei: Baile Tusnad - Piatra Soimilor. Traseul propus in acest video se afla in Muntii Harghitei. De la lacul artificial Ciucas din orasul Baile Tusnad inaintam spre raul Olt, iar dupa ce il traversam, urcam pentru aproximativ o ora, pe marcaj triunghi rosu, pana pe Piatra Soimilor. In partea a doua a excursiei, coboram de pe Piatra Soimilor pe traseul pe care am urcat, marcaj triunghi rosu, pentru aproximativ 45 de minute, pana lacul artificial Ciucas din orasul Baile Tusnad, punctul final al excursiei.

Located in the center of Romania, in Sibiu, the ASTRA National Museum Complex is the most important ethnographic institution in Romania. Conceived under the auspices of the Transylvanian Association for Romanian Literature and the Culture of the Romanian People – an institution founded in 1861 – the ASTRA Museum – then the Museum of the Association – opened its first exhibition on August 19, 1905. The museum was born from the desire of the Romanians from Transylvania to define their own ethnocultural identity in the ethnic conglomerate of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and in the context of the cultural emancipation of all the peoples of Central and South-Eastern Europe.

Romania: CFR Class 60 Sulzer diesel (no. 60-0770) leaves Babeni station on passenger train R2072, the 1255 Podu Olt to Piatra Olt. Clip recorded 1st October 2021.
Sulzer Ltd. is a Swiss industrial engineering and manufacturing firm, founded by Salomon Sulzer-Bernet in 1775 and established as Sulzer Brothers Ltd. in 1834 in Winterthur, Switzerland.
Sulzer developed a series of rail traction engines in the 1930s and 1940s which were used extensively in diesel locomotives in the UK, Europe and South America. A small number were used in locomotives in Africa and Australia. The Sulzer LDA (prefixed by the number of cylinders, and with a suffix related to the cylinder bore) engine was widely used by British Rail. Many were built under licence by Vickers-Armstrong at Barrow as six-, eight- and twelve-cylinder form. The twelve-cylinder engine was used in the British Rail Class 47 and several others. The 12LDA28 engine was a double bank engine having, in effect, two six-cylinder engines side by side, rather than a V-type as favoured by many other manufacturers. The town, elevated to that status in 2002, administers six villages: Bonciu, Capu Dealului, Pădurețu, Români, Tătărani and Valea Mare. It is situated in the historical region of Oltenia. -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Căile Ferate Române (abbreviated as CFR) is the official designation of the state railway carrier of Romania. The railway network of Romania consists of 11,380 km (7,070 mi), of which 3,971 km (2,467 mi) (34.9%) are electrified, and the total track length is 22,247 km (13,824 mi), of which 8,585 km (5,334 mi) (38.5%) are electrified. The network is significantly interconnected with other European railway networks, providing pan-European passenger and freight services. CFR as an entity has been operating since 1880, even though the first railway on current Romanian territory was opened in 1854.
CFR is divided into four autonomous companies: CFR Călători, responsible for passenger services; CFR Marfă, responsible for freight transport; CFR Infrastructură, manages the infrastructure on the Romanian railway network; and Societatea Feroviară de Turism, or SFT, which manages scenic and tourist railways.
CFR Călători, the passenger service division of CFR, operates seven types of passenger train, both on Romania's territory, with rolling stock and locomotives, or internationally, with rolling stock. Also, CFR operates international trains on Romanian territory with its own locomotives. The train types vary in terms of speed and type of rolling stock. In 2010, approximately 58 million passengers have traveled with the company. 10 million travelers have preferred private equity firms in particular on the side lines.

************************ The Olt Defile is a defile that has been cut into the Transyvanian Alps in south-central Romania by the Olt River. In the Brezoi-Titesti Depression portion of the defile are located hot spring resorts. In the surrounding mountains grow Walnut and oak trees, wild roses, and white ivy. Transportation is provided by highways and railways between Râmnicu Vâlcea and Sibiu.
History
The defile was important when Rome occupied the area during the 1st century BC to 2nd century AD, building roads and fortifications along the Olt to north of the Danube. This line of fortifications was known as the Limes Alutanus, which once marked the eastern frontier of Roman Dacia. Remains of these Roman castra have been found in several villages, including those of Boița, Câlineni, and Călimăneşti. From the 14th to 18th century, several monasteries were built in the area. One of these, Turnul Monastery from the 17th century, even had cells that were carved into the cliffs by hermits from the 14th century Cozia Monastery, which was known for its exterior frescoes. The Ostrov Hermitage, also in the area, dates from the 17th century, while the Cornet Hermitage was built during the 17th and 18th centuries. There are also two fortresses, dating from the 16th century, located in Turnu Rosu and Boita.
