The village of Westerbork is located in the northern province of Drenthe in the Netherlands. This is a small village and is renowned for the Westerbork camp. This Westerbork camp was an intermediate concentration camp where the Nazi's held thousands of Jews and Sinti/Roma people as captives during the world war 2 between 1940-1945. In addition to the Westerbork camp, the village Westerbork has also many attractions to visit, for example the paper art museum (museum van papierknipkunst) and the St Stephans church (a gothic style church) dating back to the early 15th century.
During our visit to Westerbork, we saw the st Stephens church from outside and also visited the paper art museum and took a detailed look. Paper art museum is a place where you can see magnificent works of different artists using paper. Namely shadow paper art, insect paper art and portrait paper arts are popular in this museum.

Visit historic Orvelte
Orvelte is a small historic town in the middle of the province of Drenthe in the Netherlands. In this short video I am taking you along for a short walk through this beautiful town.
If you are hiking the Pieterpad this could be a nice stop as Orvelte is not too far from stage 6, although you would need to split stage 6 in two parts.

Meppel is the smallest of all cities in the region, but its most important asset is the port area through which important ships pass.
Coevorden is a southern province that just has tourism potential and attractions that are of interest to many visiting tourists.
What to see
Basically, Drenthe can be seen in a few days, since there are few places in the province that attract a vast mass of tourists. Driving in the Netherlands: N392, N380 & N381 from Gorredijk to Oosterwolde
In this video you can ride along on provincial roads N392, N380 & N381 from Gorredijk to Oosterwolde in the Netherlands' Friesland province. In recent years they upgraded a part of the N381 to a 2 x 2 expressway.
The N381 runs from Drachten to Emmen near border with Germany. Although there is demand to upgrade the N381 across its entire length, it has only been upgraded from Drachten to Oosterwolde in recent years partly thanks to a one-time increase in state budget for the Friesland province.

NETHERLANDS revisit to Orvelte (Drenthe)
Orvelte is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, and lies about 18 km northeast of Hoogeveen. Less than 100 people live in the village.
Orvelte presents itself as a museum village. There is a saw mill, a blacksmith and a wooden shoe maker, all open to the public. A number of events are held throughout the year featuring traditional Dutch activities.
The statistical area Orvelte, which can also include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 220.
